About 50 hours in (if the time counter isn't lying), and I've only just ventured over to the Novigrad side of the river, if only because all those notice board markers were making me worried that I might have missed some quests I might now be overleveled for. It'll probably be hours before I even decide to head to the city of Novigrad itself. This might be the best open world I've ever explored in a video game.

Also, after ignoring and not really liking it at the start of my playthrough, I might be succumbing to the early stages of Gwent addiction. Help.

Only more Gwent can help you now.

That doesn't matter.
Sleep with as many people as you want, but choose between Yen or Triss. You can only have one of those two.

Triss and Yennefer are the main heroine.
You can sleep with everyone else without affecting the outcome of the last battle.
I remember reading that if you didn't pick Triss like Stay with me or I love you, you will not get the achievement for Full Crew or something.
Thanks, that's good to know. Grew really worried for a moment there

Is there a spreadsheet or Google doc that lists all alchemy ingredients and what concoctions they can be used for?

I have so much crap in my alchemy inventory and would love to know if certain ingredients are needed for multiple potions or just one type.

When exactly do you make the choice between Yen or Triss?
I told Triss I loved her, she stayed and we went to the lighthouse for sexy time. Haven't seen her since. Did the Unicorn scene and didn't decline Yen. Currently doing the Brothers in Arms quests. And I know about the "threesome" scene where they get upset at you. If I wanted Triss I should have told Yen no at the unicorn, right? Alternatively, if I wanted Yen I should have just let Triss get on the boat? Did I kind of just answer my own question?

Damn you CDPR, damn you for putting in all these real-life choices

What if they add new recipes in the expansions. Just get used to playing in encumbered mode and you have unlimited bag space!

Keep every relic supply.
I believe the vampire(ekemmaakla something) hide is super rare. There are only 5 in the game I believe, and if one of the corpse you looted didn't give you one and you forgot to save, welp, say goodbye to some of the superior potion that you can make.

I'm around 45 hours in and just completed my second game of Gwent. I think I am ready to devote some time to it finally, especially so I can clear the quest(s) involving Gwent. I need to get some better cards immediately.

...

I'm finally getting around to doing serious work with Gwent, building my deck, etc. But I am getting my butt KICKED wit this Gwent Players quest in Velen.

HELP

Is the time played counter on PC accurate? I have the GOG version and I run the game without launching GOG Galaxy, so if the in game counter if off then I have no idea...

Lovely, thank you very much. Going to follow this once work is done.

I thought Cat school had a dark reputation, so I wonder if wearing the armor will incite different responses from townsfolk.

Nothing different than being spit at and called a freak. Same old same old, haven't noticed anything new.

Supposedly the in-game played time is broken on all versions. Playing through Steam seems to be the most accurate.

I'm up to 55 hours.

I don't think the general population is so well informed about witchers that they know the difference between schools. Or even that there are multiple schools.

I've worn Cat for probably near 30 hours now. I haven't noticed a difference from the first 20 hours I was wearing generic or Griffon armor.

Exactly what I was afraid of. Guess I'll never know how long I've played

Really hope the DLC brings back characters from TW1 and TW2. A few from TW2 definitely feel weird not being here. I think the decision to make TW3 a stand-alone game for new players might have bit it in the ass in that respect.

I think it'll happen in the two expansions instead of the DLC.

Quick question, I explored some dragonslayer or whatever cave
, and in the end the rocky wall to exit had a symbol like a Sign (when I used Witcher senses) which looked like a sun... is that a new ability you get later on or something?

Also, some marks on the map appear to be underground, is that a bug or are they really underground? Because I can't find an entrance to a cave.

You'll know when to tell yen because it's a personal quest.

If you're referring to what I think you're referring to...
finish main story quests with Keira for a new ability related to that symbol
.

Yes, that's what I meant. I don't like how the game feels like the
Roche path
was canon.
Really?

Hohoho. Not bragging, but i remember saying something along the lines a long long time ago that his path to me felt the best. It felt more of a complete "satisfactory" conclusion to the story compared to the other path.
Iorveth's path is underwhelming since you don't really know what became of Saskia and also Phillipa gets away. At least in Roche's path you can personally massacre both Henselt and Dethmold, then let Sile get killed. Basically "kill all the bad guys" which I liked

Just personal preference of course. I wish that CDPR cover both paths well.

The dialogue choices are pretty ambiguous sometimes though. I've chosen things that had the exact opposite effect and some dialogue choices are loaded, ie no matter what you say the character you're talking to ends up having the same reaction.

Just finished Act 2, the end draws near and I'm going to do all these quests and contracts.

(Act 2 spoilers)
Holy shit, that was a cool battle. I had gathered everyone I could so I only suffered the one casualty.
I guess Lambert dies if you killed Keira?
Man, from the Isle of Mists to this, what a great ride. No one who's actually played this game can believe Geralt has no heart. :(

Can you change the difficulty early in the game and still get the trophy at the end for playing at a higher difficulty? Some games have like a cutoff point where you need to have the difficulty changed. I started on the default, thought it was too easy and wanted the trophy for next one up. Played some but now want to change it to Death March. I've played about 4 hours, haven't killed griffin.

I have an older PC with a GTX 460/non-overclocked 2500k on a 23" monitor and a PS4 on a 42" TV. I haven't kept up with this game so is there any reason to go PC over PS4? I'm normally not into modding and just play through and never touch games again.
