Nabbed the game, under peer pressure (all my buds are playing it, I already feel behind).

It's gorgeous. The frame stutters during cutscenes are a bit lame, but the game is so gorgeous otherwise that I don't even care.

I'm fucking terrible at the combat. I managed to die once in Normal already - though I believe i was fighting some ghouls way above my level (that's when their nameplates are in Red, right?)

I'm not even Level 2 yet - only an hour or two in, and just picked up a contract
to go after the Gryphon you first see early in the game

I think on balance I slightly prefer the fixed level quest system in this game as opposed to having them scale to your level, but it is making me paranoid about missing low level quests and annoyed when I have to play one that I'm over leveled for. Part of me want to just look up a complete list and play them in order but that wouldn't feel right.

It doesn't help that team level range in zones is completely random. I found lvl 4 mobs on zones that you would never go at lvl 4

you're in for a great time...just be careful though with running through the main story missions because it may close access to other side quests that are tied to story progression...honestly just take your time in White Orchard...get used to the combat better and explore aroound

Coward. I would have showed that bear why you don't mess with a witcher.

lol..I agree with you...I probably should have fought it but I was trying to get a mission done to check if it gave me XP so the bear wasn't my top priority

Finally finished the game. Now I can stop lurking in threads because I'm satisfied and my endings were pretty great. Also getting too old to be following the waifu wars. :p

I prefer the books story-wise though. Still, amazing game and I couldn't have asked for more.

Yeah, I did that today too. Now I'm afraid to do more story stuff because I don't want it to end.

That was really well done. A nice change of pace.

Yeah, me too! I think I'll focus on contracts and exploration for now.

Anyone who's finished the game could say about how long Act 3 is in comparison to the other 2?

Oh and seriously can we talk about the line (can't remeber the exact quote) "I hear you're having an imp problem, or was that an imp-erfection in the notice." I played the quest yesterday and I still can't believe you said that, Geralt

Not only did he feel awkward saying it (in a "wait what am I doing" way) but the npc calls you on it :p

My god Velen is so big, I don't even know where to begin.... I took like 10-12 hours in White Orchard soooooo.... I'm gonna be here for a while. Haven't even touched Gwent yet either....

Even having played Witcher 2 I find myself liking Geralt more and more. His dry wit is great, the scenes between him and the emissary guy were amazing, not to mention the shaving scene - so good. He's like Snake - seems like a generic badass at first but is actually kind of a weird funny dude.

Does anyone know if you are supposed to get any experience at the very end of towerful of mice quest? Specifically after talking to Keira and reporting what happened? I want to make sure I'm not hit by the bug

Act 1 - Velen, Novigrad, Skellige first visits
Act 2 - Kaer Morhen return
Act 3 - Return to Velen/Novigrad with Ciri

Shiiiiiit, I have
Kaer Morhen
as a destination on my world map. No way I'm going there now. I've barely touched Skellige aside from the initial whirlwind of quests that
Yennifer drags you on, including The Last Wish
!

There's a horse in the middle of the Passiflora now.

Won't ask any questions.

There's a part halfway through act 2 that does lock off some sidequests, so yeah it doesn't hurt to take your time and finish some of them up.

I kinda want to wear the wild hunt armor, I know it's heavy plate and not very witcher-y but still, look kinda cool ^^ maybe a mod in the future will put it in, although would probably need to rescale it iirc the elves are taller than Geralt

edit holy fuck that's a huge picture even quoted, will just link it
I always loved this guy's design the most out of the Wild Hunt armors, the helmet makes it.

I do not know what his personality is because I've not played that far, but the lack of any skull pattern, any human features on his helmet, makes him look like an extreme no-nonsense type of right hand man that swiftly cuts down anything you point him towards.

Patch (with xp fix) confirmed for tomorrow (tuesday)?

Yennefer romance question: In the Last Wish quest,
what should I choose if I don't want to piss of Yen, but be with Triss? My options are "I love you too"and "I don't want to be together anymore." If I say that I love her, will that screw up the ending?

Question on the whispering hillock quest
is it better to kill the spirit or leave it free I here only a few children are spared but a whole village is killed including the baron. So it's probably best to kill the spirit and sacrifice the children?

you need to choose the negative. No option

Yup, you gotta go with the second option. I was there yesterday, the reaction made me feel horrible.

There is no right answer here, only
horrible outcomes

It's surprising to see that the Skellige Isles has a lot of Northern Irish voice acting, pretty cool (as someone from Northern Ireland!)

Make sure to do side quests that are near your level before moving on because about halfway into Act 2, you won't be able to back out until you finish the Act and you end up gaining a ton of XP in the end. I gained 5 levels after completing Act 2 for instance.

If it makes you feel better you've made the right choice. Welcome brother.

I'd have a ginger kid.
I don't think I'll ever have to worry about having to choose between a beautiful red head or brunette in real life lol.
True, but the situation is incredibly awkward.
And what makes worse is Geralt's delivery of his response:
"Sorrry, the magic is gone for me. Guess your wish was granted. But let's still be friends"
.

Cold as ice.
Geralt is too damn cold.

Unfortunately, it seems they've rolled the XP hot fix into patch 1.05 and it'll be released in Wednesday at the earliest.

So not Tuesday? Fuck I don't think I can stretch my ? hunt another day, I'm almost out. Wait that's not true, I havent been in Skellige yet lol. I'm sure that has its fair share of ?s

Only got to Novigrad like a couple of hours ago and I still feel I haven't progressed anywhere and that's awesome.

Level 13 but still rocking some really shit looking armour that's suitable for level 7/8. :lol Some good stuff to pick up around Novigrad I hope? I have a load of schematics also though which I just need to find a guy to handle but most of them are high level shit. ;(

Just finished it, incredible game. One thing I'm wondering though:

What the hell happened to the crone that escaped Ciri? Is there a quest for it that I missed?

Are you not getting exp for side quests too? I have the exp glitch but the amount of exp I'm getting From side quests has made up for it and Im still 2 levels above the main quests.
