The big patch that's supposed to fix performance and all that.
I have an unopened copy (been playing a friend's copy), but I'm seriously considering returning it for a copy on PC.
Only thing really holding me back is that I want to play on my couch with a controller... I'm going to see how I can hook my PC to the TV and find a way to use DS4 with PC.

OK, if I connect my PC to TV through VGA port...will I get full resolution? Or will it look bad?

If you are sensitive to the occasional frame rate/performance issues in the PS4 version, there is no point waiting.
There is only so much you can do with the current hardware. Patches aren't going to solve the problem, unless they scale back the graphics.
Go for the PC version

What a ride it was, finally finished my first playthrough.
But here is my one beef and it is a big one :
Really emotional. I liked my ending where Geralt and Cirilla continued on the path together and he eventually settled down with Yennefer. God knows they deserve some peace. It will be extremely interesting to see if CDP continues this story somehow. Ciri is one of my all time favorite main characters and I wish there had been even more content related to her daughter-father relationship with Geralt.
But here is my one beef and it is a big one :
WHERE IS SASKIA? The free people of Vergen? What happened. I am legit sad and even frustrated. Hopefully we get some answers in the upcoming DLC's.

I'm okay with it... but if I can get the comfort of gaming on my couch with a PC copy, and pay pretty much half the price, why not just go for PC?
There was actually a topic on the cd projekts forums about this but I don't have an account so I couldn't see the pics. Apparently if you don't free Saskia in the Witcher 2, Philippa gives you some dialogue about her. She says something along the lines of they were fighting in the war and she lost control of her and she flew away. So it's possible she's alive.

After 200 something hours I finally got to Skellige and spent another 8 hours between the last two days roaming about and doing monster contracts.
I randomly rode past a body on the ground, went up to inspect it and then a Monster Contract quest popped from checking out the corpse.
There were some remnants of a castle and as I rounded the corner there was a

Skellige is probably the most beautiful area I have seen in any game, and I love the hybridized Celtic/Scottish and Norwegian/Greenland viking aesthetic and culture. The combination of culture and verticality of Skellige is amazing.
Actually, I don't think I've ever seen a game with the sense of scale and I don't think even MGSV will top that at all. It puts other open worlds to shame in the size and scale department.
Man I love how nonlinear this game is, and how several times now I've almost literally stumbled upon many quests and contracts. It's the best RPG I've played in a long, long time.

I'm doing the exact same. PC hooked up to the TV, and playing with the DS4. Either 3rd party software like DS4Windows or InputMapper work well. Best thing is that you can map the controls on the controller like you want on the PC version. Makes casting Signs a lot more easier and fluid on the PC compared to consoles.

Thanks guys. Think I may just go PC route. Just need to find a way to move my PC more conveniently next to the VGA input on my TV.

I've found six griffins total. Three regular and three archgriffins. Maybe one of each respawns. The thing with the arch-griffins is the have a bunch of resistances to pretty much every damage type, so a lot of the conventional methods for killing them don't work. Like they can't get poisoned or burned at all and they seem to have a high stagger tolerance. A single crossbow bolt won't cause it to plummet to the ground and they recover from aard really quickly. The best approach is to chug down a bunch of potions, apply a bleed effect, and if you have it use rend to ignore its resistances. In the the end it doesn't matter though by level 30+ your build will probably have the tools to deal with it quickly like all the enemies. I walked up to a level 45 one at level 34 and killed it in probably 30 seconds with an adrenaline strong attack build.

yea I rock the gryphon set because it's the best "all around" outfit for using signs and doing damage and taking damage.....but DAMN IS IT UGLY!

The "through time and space" mission can fuck right off. That is all.
It really is disappointing. She was such a great character and not involving her in the war effort was a mistake. I still hope that we will hear from her in the future.
