The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Finished the main campaign.
Fuck. Ciri is dead from self sacrifice, and Geralt commit suicide, dying alone, after killing the last crone? Fucking heart warming stuff there, folks. I feel like shit right now.

Well damn that's a first I read.

I read others where
after Ciri died, Geralt went crazy and killed the last crone. He also broke down after finding that medallion. In addition somehow Geralt got over it, got with triss and lived the rest of his days peacefully. So... Lol?

That's not mine

mines was ciri became a Witcher, Geralt lived with triss, cyrs rules the islands, milfgardd won the war with free temeria (thanks to assassination mission of terrible king and of distria. Gotta support broche.)

Someone tell me what's up with finishers? What determines if you do them? Also, I turned off Automatic Finishers and didn't see any difference in combat, nor did I see any prompts. What's up with that?

I get a finisher every single time when I hold "X"(or whatever your attack button is) when the enemy is low on health.

So I am about 25 hours into the game and I just got to Novigrad. Wow this city is awesome. It actually feels like a city that thousands of people live in. Not like Skyrim where the capital has maybe a pathetic 20 people in it.

more end game stuff
I mean, Geralt doesnt put a sword through his own stomache or drink a potion, but the house he's in is about to be flooded with swamp monsters and he does nothing but sit and cling to the necklace he gave his deceased daughter, then the screen goes black, credits roll. The implication is perfectly clear. I thought for sure Triss or Yen would swoop in and save him, but nope

Think I just got some/all of my missing XP back. After a good string of story missions giving zero XP, I did a side mission and suddenly jumped from level 22 to 26. Hopefully that was all of it.

is there a way to specifically tell the weakness of each enemy? Best weapon, best spell, best bomb etc. (similar to Shadow of Mordor). Or is it trial & error?

Dat NPC recycling. There's six hookers in
Dandylion's
bar, and there's only two different models. Standing literally five feet away from eachother. I have 5 of them in the current camera angle.

Really thinking about taking a break from the game. Not because I'm bored or fed up with it, but because I don't want it to end too soon.
Probably kidding myself and come back to it within five minutes

I know I'm not the first to make this complaint, but man, they really fucked up on that "destination: skellige" quest, huh? Why is it level 16 when everything on Skellige is like level 12! I went there at level 18 thinking 16 to 18 isn't a huge jump and now my quest log is grey. :(

3. Do notice boards repopulate? I've had a few that were white on the map but when I grabbed the stuff on the board again, it added more map locations.
They can, but they turn yellow when they have a notice that's actually new, so you won't miss it.

I've only had it happen once myself; if you do the nice thing in the Haunted House in Novigrad quest, you'll get a new notice to go back there.

Only 1 quest you get in Skellige is lvl 12 (except the ones that start in Velen and go to Skellige), overall the zone skews higher but yeah level ranges are all fucked in this game

That believe that was the one I got too in Novigrad now that I think about it.

Yeah I just wish it was more consistent, like the south part of a zone is easy and it get's harder as you go north or something. Clearing out an area is kind of a pain when a level 25 monster can come out of nowhere in a level 4 drowner area. My F5 key has been getting a work out because of that.

I finally won in a Gwent match lol.
I've only played like 3-4 matches before this one and kinda lost interest due to the learning curve. Lost to the inkeeper back in White Orchard, even lost to
Priscilla during the raid quest
. This match is related to a quest with
Zoltan's cards
.

I feel like the games not recognizing my quicksave. If I die it'll only show manual saves to choose from. And yes, obviously it says Game Saved when I hit F5.

Wow I just gained 4 levels in an hour. Thankfully this XP glitch doesn't seem to be affecting me. :p

p.s. this game is really good.

Someone said that earlier. Wonder if there's a hotfix going on that is boosting people?

Let us hope the patch will release today for all three platforms since it seems to be hindering a bunch of you for continuing forward.

alright boys, im about to go to skellige for the first time, how much longer do I have?

Too much. Even after Skellige you will be surprised. The game continues and later on, much later, you will have this certainty in your head that "this is it, now it ends" only to be fooled again. And again.

......Yes, and again. The end will not come and days from now, as more side quests pop up while you maintain your path, you wonder if it even should.

I've come to the point of no return with romances I believe so now I have a question.

Is it possible to romance only Triss while also sending Yennefer to Kaer Morhen?

How do I deal with werewolf regeneration?

None of you have studied the Monstrum properly.

Fire to hurt the creature, moon dust to stop it from regenerating and quen to protect yourself from its claws. This is elementary, info was provided right after the trial of the grasses breh.

I'm level 18 and finally am thinking about heading to Skellige so I am not overleveled for the main story. Is this average? Sooner than most? Later than most? I mean, i've probably put 55 hours or so in.

Did a bit of act 3, that was badass.

(Acts 2 and early 3 spoilers)
I like how our protagonists have some agency in the face of everything that's happening. They're not just facing events, they're molding them.

Typically, Geralt is right when he says it is a miracle they even survived the battle of Kaer Mohren, but his plan to draw the Hunt to Kaer Mohren was the best option on the table and they prepared as well as they could with fifteen people facing an army.

In the same vein, Ciri's idea to strike at the Wild Hunt by using the sabbath opportunity to take down Imlerith is a good one, all things considered. It's nice to see some initiative. It's even nicer that this doesn't fall under the usual "brash vengeance plan goes to shit" trope. Her plan is risky but not impossibly so and that kind of guerrilla action is the only one available to them. Fighting the crones and killing two was a cool bonus. And we needed a win, after all that shit.

I really love the tone these two acts have found so far, constantly navigating between emotional moments and "shit just got real" ones.
I think Geralt and Ciri's reunion is my favorite scene so far. I love how it lingers on Geralt being on the threshold and not opening the door because he knows he'll find her lifeless inside.

I chose to not see Emhyr and go directly to Bald Mountsin because I'm done being his fucking lapdog, he's an asshole and Ciri is old enough to choose what she wants to do. Fuck that guy.

I also reached Skellige at level 18, right after finished
Dandelion's
quests.
Though after finishing a couple of story quests and obtaining the ursine set, I went back to Velen.

Do I have the XP glitch? Didn't get anything for the Flower whatever mission
questioning women about Dandelion's whereabouts
. Did a couple side quests in between but got a bit of XP though.

I'm level 15 and the quest was still green (it's 11).

That's what I am thinking about doing. Head to Skellige and progress a little further with the main story, then go back to Velen to hit up some areas that I attempted to go to way earlier in the game, only to find a monster 10 levels higher. I am coming for you, motherfuckers. I also still need to upgrade my Griffin armor and/or get the Cat armor.

Geralt's idle animation. It's even windy indoors apparently.
Sometimes I feel like I'm playing old snake from MGS4.
Hadn't put this on for a few days because of the weather, time to jump back in again.

The reunion was emotional and the game really starts to pick up after Kaer Mohren. Losing Vesemir to that bastard really hounded me, because he kept all these individuals together at the fortress. You just know that it will never be the same again.

And Eskel is the Mace Windu of Witchers. That fight scene was hype. We know from the novels that he has magical energy inside him for some reason - more so than Geralt or any other in the school. I wish CD P had utilized him more.

finally in Velen now at level 4
i took a peak at Skeligge's map first
0.0 Jesus Christ thats alot of stuff to explore
Being confronted with the size of the Velen and Skellige maps really is an overwhelming moment at first! :D

As someone who is used to "let me just collect/start all quests and then pick and choose which ones I'll do", the sheer fucking size of the world forced me to take a more piecemeal approach to this.

It's great.

Someone close that goddamn window

Is there a quest for Ursine armor? I have all the Superior diagrams but not the base.

It's a treasure hunt quest. You can buy the map from a merchant in Velen.
You've probably read the map already, but it won't trigger/show on your world map if you're still in Velen. You have to go to Skellige to actually trigger the treasure hunt quest for the ursine armor set.

Most of the huts outside the big cities don't even have windows. Shit's drafty!

that's a hideous armor, it's a shame that's one of the best early light armors in the game until you craft the feline set.

I suppose this issue has already been reported but whenever the camera angle changes in cutscenes, some details like NPCs' helmets and Geralt's beard appear late on screen and it's extremely jarring and immersion-breaking !

My girlfriend was watching me play and she saw a dwarf's helmet and weapon appearing from thin air and said " WTF JUST HAPPENED ?!"

Lol, it is pretty bad ... any ini tweak to fix this ?

I bought witcher 3 yesterday and i am confused about alchemy. It doesn't show what items i need to create some stuff. Do i have to pick up different plant and hope i have everything or is there a list telling which items i need?

I agree, I've also got that white one with blue strips that makes you look like a horse jockey, so I stuck to this one because it's rated higher.

I'm half way to level 8 and I have some armour I can craft for that level. So I'm using this potato sack armour until then.

You first need to purchase or find formulas and then you can create the potions. Also notice that you only need to create the potion once. They will have uses (as in 3/3) and you will restock during meditation - provided you have alcohol. Same applies to bombs. You only need to construct every type once. You will automatically restock during meditation. Just have to bring that vodka with you.

I just
romanced Tess
and am now
about to go to Dijkstra to hear more about his plot to kill the king
. Maybe 2 or 3 other quests and around 10 hunts that i've collected but not done. I'm level 16 atm.

Can someone give me an idea of how far along the main storyline I am?
