Can someone clarify something for me, on your world map, do all your merchants/hairdresser/herbalists/blacksmiths (etc) stay on your world map all the time? (PC on Death March! difficulty).
Yeah, normal does the same thing and hides merchants depending on your distance to them (though some icons stay visible at all times). Pretty sure it's neither a bug nor a difficulty feature, just a way to reduce map clutter.

Ok, I need some help with a side quest in Skellige
In Wolf's Clothing, I'm not stuck in it per se but I've read somewhere else that this quest is related to a contract that I can take in Novigrad? Is that true? Or is that part of the reward you get from him after lifting his curse? I refuse to finish it without knowing I'd miss on another quest :(

Ok i am really sick of navigating those gdamned menus in order to use potions... I am playing on death march and obviously potions are crucial to my success. And I have to scroll through a fuckton of books and notes just to use them...

I honestly dont know who at CDPR found this a good idea, and I dont get why they didnt at least put them on top of your inventory like oils...

So I am about to go and sell all my books and notes just to navigate the thing with some ease.

My question is. If i sell all my books and notes into a specific shop, will it always be there if I want to go back and repurchase one? Do vendors always keep every item you sell at them, or are items removed over time?

Thanks.

I've never purchased an expansion pass before but I will do so now. I'll pre-order it right away, you have my soul CD Projekt. Do with it as you please.
Hmmmmm. I like the game. However, it is too long. I don't think I want to play more after beating it. I will want to move on to something else by that time. Batman AK release date is getting close.

That was my thinking too... but I find it rather odd since I would LOVE to keep Blacksmiths and Armorers always on and the rest off, but this way you have to remember where everyone is all the time: but if it's the same for everyone, it's no doubt dev implemented :)

Thanks for the feedback mate.

So yeah, I'm totally in love with this game and pretty much everything it does.

The only thing is that some things require a lot of attention. For example in the previous Witcher game we see a flashback where Geralt remembers how Cirilla saved him as she took his lifeless corpse to Avalon with Yennefer. But a quick reference in one game doesn't exactly do justice to the whole situation. This was his daughter/ward travelling through space and time in order to bring Geralt back from the dead. Not exactly a minor event. The information is provided to us I suppose but the presentation and emotional impact could be clearer.

I was worried about this but eventually just gave up and started dumping all letters and books that aren't marked as quest items. In my experience, the quest item system works perfectly fine and you can trust it.

Now the problem is that I have too many damn decoctions, oils and potions to dig through. Wish they gave you an equipment wheel so you could fast-equip 9 potions instead of just two.

The expansions aren't coming out next week, dude. The big one is "spring 2016".

That stuff isn't coming anytime soon. The first expansion isn't due until fall and the second one won't be out until next year sometime.

But what I ask in regards to vendors is it true?

Do they keep all the items you sold no matter how much time passes?

New DLCs are up.

Nilfgaardian Armor and Crossbow Set (3 new crossbows)

Edit Can't find them in-game, though. I checked the White Orchard merchant and the Master Armorer & Blacksmiths. Anyone know where to get them?

Just finished the Baron questline. Holy shit.

I ended up saving the orphans because I (rightfully so) didn't trust the witches. Had no idea that because of that one thing, a man I've spent hours learning about and helping ends up hanging himself. All because witches aren't to be trusted..

What other outcomes did people get?

Speaking of vendors, I'm betting a near-future patch will make the respec potion a one and done type of deal. I have several in my inventory just in case they do exactly that and being able to respec whenever I damn well please feels a little odd.

It's cool that you can try different builds but they might as well have let you add/remove points at will if you can just buy infinite respecs anyway. 1000 ain't shit to a kleptomaniac Geralt.

But what I ask in regards to vendors is it true?

No, they don't. Some items aren't even still there if you back out and go back into the shop right away. I don't think anyone has found any logic behind what stays and what disappears.

Wondering why the hell my steel sword was not doing any damage at all. After some time I realized I had a stupid blunt sword equipped. God that made some missions much harder than needed. lol

the romance part of this game seems really, really lazy... also, the developers didn't hide at all what girl they wanted you to end up with.

Very Late game Spoiler:

During that world hopping quest with Avallac'h, is there anything missable there besides that one place of power?

Kaer Morhen, Post-Isle, Large spoilers:
Props for having the balls to kill off Vesemir. Even if its a bit tropey death of an old mentor, it made for some really touching moments. Haven't been a big fan of the main storyline so far but this was very well done. Cutscene direction could be better in places though. :p Think its something Bioware still has a slight edge in.

Got damn, this fucking game. I experienced an awesome chain of quests tonight in Skellige. Side Quest spoilers:

Decided to clear out more greyed-out quests from my log tonight and one of them was the "Black Pearl". Had to travel to one of Skellige's islands and dive for a black pearl for this retired soldier's wife. Finding the item was easy enough. But once I had found it, I needed to meet the old soldier back in Novigrad. So I decided to run over to the nearest fast travel point I had already discovered by buying a few maps from a Skellige merchant.

It turns out that that fast travel point was on another smaller island with a lighthouse. Cool, no big deal. Except the lighthouse turned out to be haunted by several Wraiths and even had a Witcher Contract for the "Pentinent" after talking with the lighthouse care taker. So I figured, what the hell, I'll knock out this contract while I'm in the area. About 15 minutes later, and a reloaded save due to a death, the contract was cleared. But now I had to travel to the local village to claim my reward. Again, no worries, I had fast travel unlocked. So I pop on over and head into the local tavern to meet the actual quest giver. Upon entering, two local Skelligan give me a hard time and the quest giver actually sticks up for me. Then I sat down with him, had a drink and collected by reward.

As I go to leave the tavern, the two local give me some shit again. This causes myself and the quest giver to get to into a fist fight with these idiots. But one of them pulls their sword half-way through the fight and mortally wounds the quest giver. So of course I proceed to literally cut them in half. After paying my respects to giver and hearing his final words, I walk outside to the father of the two idiots crying on about how I murdered his two idiot sons and ended his line. Of course I killed enough for one day so I agreed to be arrested and brought forth to the local Jarl for trial.

It turns out that Jarl was one of the dudes I met at the King's wake with Yen, just after first arriving on Skellige. So he basically lets me off the hook with the condition that I help his son prove his honor in the Cave of Dreams. Cool, no big deal. So I ride out to meet this son and his small band of warriors. We arrive at the cave, wipe out a few Nekkers and proceed to take some hallucinatory drugs to go on a vision quest in order to confront our deepest fears. Que flying ghost whales, flying ghost fish and a few other surprises.

I make it through the cave with the Jarl's son and friends intact and I'm free to go my own way now that I have completed the favor to Jarl. I remember that I still have to turn in the quest for Black Pearl Novigrad still I pop over there.

Turns out the old soldier was getting this black pearl as a gift to his wife, But the kicker is that his is basically in a coma and has been non-responsive to him for several years. They used to joke with each other about him finding her a black pearl and he though if he finally found one, that it'd snap her out of coma. But it didn't work. Damn, I genuinely felt bad for the guy.

I'm only 65 hours in, but this is the game of the year. No doubt about it.

wow, I will let you know how this happened for me.
first of all, I did this quest twice because I replayed quite a portion of skellige because I amde a bad decision.
the first time I did not go to jail, I think it was because I solved the "penitent" quest differently, if you search the lighthouse you will find log books that show that the guy who lives there actually manipulated them, you can choose to exile him if you found that out.
that was my first palythrough and the dude in the inn did NOT attack me.
now the second time I did not search the lighthouse, I could not exile him and imagine my surprise when the dudes attacked me at the inn and I got in jail.
and the jarl released me because I did the quest with his son already, the game reacted correctly to that.

this game man, this game.s o much content that plays out differently

so it's totally normal to not get xp from grey quests right?
anyway, there are too many low level quests.. they should have put way less sub Lv 20 quest and way more >20 ones.. apart from some contract there is not enough

The new armor and horse gear looks really nice, the horse gear I'm going to use but I'm already over leveled for the Nilfgardian armor and the 2 crossbows I saw.

To be fair, both half-assed romance plot threads pretty much disappear after their respective sidequests and afterwards Yennefer appears more often purely due to her ties to Ciri and Duny The Hedgehog Emhyr. There just wasn't any room for Triss in this story.

What is with some of these lousy quest rewards?

Meet man in Novigrad
Travel 1000s of miles to meet him in Skellige to find a rare pearl
Swim out to sea and dive to find the pearl whilst fighting off sirens
Save man from getting killed by Drowners
Travel back to Novegrad to meet man and receive payment

Item Received: 10 crowns.

it's about the journey, not the destination.

Meh, knew it. All the DLC is going to be level 10 type stuff for casual players, isn't it?

This does make you wonder exactly what they're thinking for the large expansions. Are the hardcore players just going to be buying a bunch of greyed-out level 10 quests or are they going to turn away casuals by making 25 the minimum level? Not sure CDPR thought this leveling system all the way through...

The alternate ending has the children devoured by the Crones. The Baron and Anna live but she has been driven insane after all the emotional trauma. Geralt thinks she is beyond help but the Baron refuses to give up and decides to take her to someone that can try to heal her mind. The daughter wants to go too but the Witch Hunters insist that she now belongs to the Eternal Flame.

Yeah it's a bummer, I totally would have used the armor if it was even close to as good as my current gear. At the very least, the DLC stuff should scale to your level, as it's useless to a large portion of players at this point.

Imo the expansions should continue from the level you are expected to be at the end of the game. If you didn't find the game enjoyable enough to finish it, you probably wouldn't play the expansions either. There should be no reason to play the expansions before finishing the main game.

It's a shame, because I can hardly stand geralt when he's near yen... dude has fallen so hard for her that he hit rock bottom and he is still rebounding as we speak...

So I'm in Novigrad, doing the get junior quest and I can't progress. The quest marker dissappear and when I found the arena again, can't open the secret door. Am I totally fucked at this point? I'm guess the get junior is important to the story so... :(

Re-read that book about the witches again. 'Ladies of the Wood' I think it's called. Might put the whole quest, and your choices, in a new terrible light. :)

Funny how the armor you start off with looks the best.

Piss on that. Griffin looks good and Feline is awesome. Haven't done Ursine yet.

This is super weird. My result seems different from everyone else's.

I freed the tree spirit way before starting the bloody baron questline. Doing the quest out of order must have messed something up since the kids stayed at the orphanage the whole time and the village wasn't affected until after the crones told me to kill the tree spirit. But even then, I got the ending where the Baron tries to restore Anna's mind by going to the Blue Mountains and Tamara has to stay with the Eternal Flame.
