I am really annoyed of how the game seems to be locking you out of properly deciding your romance.

I havent gotten to Skelige yet. So i havent checked out Yennefer as a character to decide if i want to romance her or not.

But i have completed Triss's questline only to find myself that I have to decide in 10 secs if i want her to be my romance choice or not...

I find this very stupid. Is there a way to make triss stay in
Novigrad
and yet leave the door open to decide in a later part of the game (after getting to know Yennefer) who i prefer to romance and who i dont?

The game really punishes you way more than it should in some options....

Please help.

Just don't do the
Now or Never quest
until after going to Skelige.

Unless you came into Witcher 3 in love with Triss, I think Yen is the right choice. Some would call it the canon choice. You could always pick Triss next time.

But that should be my choice after checking out both characters, not having the game force down my throat a relationship commitment without ever speaking to the other character and thus make a proper choice. Is there really no way to keep the door open and decide properly later on?

Well to be fair Yen's stuff isn't "later". You can do her stuff before Triss if you wanted to.

I chose Yen
the unicorn was great
.

You can do the
unicorn scene and still be with Triss.

This is something ive just realized and found out that i have fucked up. i progressed one of the main quests too far and its locked me out of the Yennefer romance quest line and the only save i can go back to, to fix it is an old manual one that puts me 15 hours back.

So the game punishes me for not guessing the correct time/order to do quests for such an important choice? That is poor design in my eyes. The game may be amazing but this just sucks.

I think I've played the game for longer than 100 hours, and I still haven't visited Skelige. I just love wandering around without Roach and sightsee. It feels like a digital vacation to me. Totally in love with this game.

As much as I love the game, the environmental diversity is pretty sparse. For a game filled with fantasy creatures, the environments are pretty safe and ordinary.

I haven't read the books and this is my first Witcher game, but is the whole world realistic when it comes to environments?

I love exploring fantasy settings in RPG's. Like floating islands, big crystal caves or tree cities etc. Xenoblade with its crazy world design being a most recent example. I loved how interesting the whole "world" looked. I'd wish Witcher 3 would offer similar places like that...

Unlike Geralt and yennifer, Geralt and triss have more than just sexual chemistry: they're very close and loyal friends; though, I'd say the sexual chemistry with yenn and Geralt is stronger. Yenn and Geralt also have more history. They're more or less the stereotypical husband and wife who nag at each other.

I think the actual ending when you choose triss is more in character for Geralt, but I suppose they all are.

Triss choice spoilers:
Also you basically tell the only reliable leader in charge of a lot of lives to stay solely because of you and because she's into you is more than a little unfair if you weren't in love with her.

In the end I liked
philippa
the most. They had outstanding frenemy chemistry.

Is there a way to get my first witcher armor back? i am afraid i got rid of it, and who knows to who. I was hoping to find a recipe or something.

I didn't even get there yet.. I really like this game but I was having more fun doing missions and exploring before I get to city of Novigrad. How are the missions in Skellige?

Some quests really easy, others pretty annoying but It's been a lot of fun doing the quests. I was about level 22 when I arrived in Skellige. You know, It's better to be prepared for any eventuality hehehe

Have to remember that this is the third game, and these characters have known each other for decades. It's time to stop screwing around and make a choice. I understand the playing a game angle, but as far as roleplaying it, Geralt needs to make up his mind. IRL people don't deserve to be strung along like that.

Uh, what? The "Find a boat to Skellige" quest recommends a level of 18. I finally go to Skellige when I'm level 20 and then I see the next story quest on Skellige has a recommended level of 14. I'm seeing loads of monsters around level 12-16 as well. Would've gone way earlier if I had known this :/

Just got to the Skellige Isles a short while ago.

The Fields of Ard Skellig is one of my favorite parts of the soundtrack. That said, it shouldn't be on constant loop. :p There should be much longer periods of transitional pieces, like what's played during the evening hours—or none at all.

I completely ignored Glyphs on my first play through, and I find I'm doing the same thing again on my second play through. What glyphs make sense for a heavy armor/attack alchemy build?

Maybe a red warning in the quest bit. But then people would complain of spoilers probably.

Nah I confused his post with one of the many posts of "THE GAME FORCED ME TO CHOOSE TRISS WHERE I WANTED YEN". Which I was mistaken of, hence the edit. But yes, the game really should let you know which quests fail if you go too far.

Can someone at least tell me if the last quest in Triss questline,
Now or Never
the one that leads to making a choice in the end, can be left to tackle with much later? I mean is there any time constrain that will lead to failing the quest or anything else that could mess it up and fail it?

what I don't really like about selling is that there are too many mountains in the way... since you can't climb them you always have to take the long path to get somewhere

There must be some amazing Dandelion story in the books or something because I've played all three games now and STILL don't know why Geralt keeps this dude around. In any form.

Well I've hit a hell of a glitch today. I'm doing the
Lords of Undvik
quest and anytime I try to fight the
Ice Giant
I get stuck on an infinite loading screen.
However, I can hear some fighting sounds and my controller rumbles a bit as well. If I wait around long enough I get the "You Died" screen.

I've looked it up and it seems to be a common issue, but I don't see a fix or anything. This is also after the PS4's recent patch. I really love this game but this shit is getting annoying.

By the way...why does Dandelion sound so old during the loading sequences?

Probably because he is retelling the story sometime in the future when he is old ?
I mean the quest log is also written by him from perspective of someone older.

Finished it today.

What a lovely game...

Just finished it, the credits are rolling. I'm quite satisfied with the ending I got compared to what I'm reading about the others.

That game is very, very special. It's the best I've played in a long time and one of my favorite games ever.

I still have a shitload of contracts and side quests to do. And these last few Gwent cards to collect.

He's probably Geralt's best friend. It's an odd pairing, but it works well, especially in the books I though. They play off each other well. I've had friends like that where we're so damned different, yet it works.

He's a bit underutilized in the games I suppose, but that's one of the differences in the games and the saga portion of the books. In the books Geralt basically had a party of people around him. Without that he feels a lot more of a loner in the games, and that makes Dandelion feel even more weird in a way.

To Dandelion's credit whenever Geralt needs him for something he never questions it or asks anything in return no matter how dangerous it might be. Him and Zoltan are total bros.

damn..the game really gives you too much exp...ended up doing only at lv 22 the "carnal sins" quest that it's for lv 16..it did undermine the menace and enjoyment of the whole quest

Just did that quest (at lvl 18). Thought it was amazing. Especially considering the buildup before the quest. Great storytelling.

Also that scene in the morgue was amazing. The atmosphere, the dialogue, the agency. Suberb.

Just did the "remove DRM with GOG" quest.

Cheeky bastards. But it is cool how even such selfreferential eastereggy quest was totally involved, fun and interesting. I did have to fight the golem for some 30 minutes though, with him being 8 levels higher.

Also the quest to do the warrior's path was cool. Especially the mountain surf at the end :)

Yep, I love both. The whole party in the books was stellar though.

I loved this quest. The ending with the reveal, that chilling dialogue and atmosphere. God dammit.

I mean look at how he dropped everything to (mid act 1/end novigrad spoilers)
help Ciri. Even fucking went to deal with shady ass people he wouldn't want to deal with otherwise

Nope, giving up on this broken piece of crap until they fix it. Now my playtime keeps resetting to zero for no god damn reason. I was carefully keeping it accurate (which means no suspending, etc), but now I just can't keep if from resetting to zero. Might seem like a very minor issue, but I really hate when shit like that is broken.

Fuck, it's such a damn shame that a wonderful game like this has to be ruined by subpar QA. I thought this was gonna be my GOTY for sure, but the experience has really been soured for me. (And no, this is not the only issue. I've had quests break and other crap too.)

there are still plenty of bovine exploits left that don't spawn the lvl 27 monster, like the farm
in the very north-east edge of
novigrad

not like anyone is hurting for money after velen, though.

All I did is left it and went to Skelige, you meet Yen straight away.
All you had to do is do one main mission after you meet her, then you can romance her. Just be careful what dialogue you choose.
Now back in Novigrad.

did i fucked up? it seems i forgot to visit oxenfurt library or whatever but now is closed by radovid/redanian army.

did i miss something big in there? i tried to climb the walls and stuff but was impossible

Can the formula for potions and equipment that can be bought also be found in chests ? To put it in another way: am I wasting money by buying them from smiths and alchemists ? Is it also possible to buy duplicates or does the game remove already-learned formula from the vendors ?

Posts like this make me sad :(. Not because I disagree, but for how lucky I've been. The horrendous inventory crash bug was the only massively detrimental part of my play, and that was patched pretty quickly. Otherwise an overwhelming majority of my (now) 150 hours have been free of any game breaking or super frustrating bugs. I only have one oddity, which is a bandit camp chest that I've already looted yet won't mark off as complete. Otherwise it's been very smooth sailing, which to be frank is unusual for an open world RPG.

Hopefully CDPR get around to bringing the game up to that standard for everyone asap.

Yep, they are the best brogans.

Yes, you can find them in chests, at least diagrams of equipment. But you never can find in a chest a diagram that you already had before (because you found it before or you bought it) so the game gives you a different diagram or a different piece of loot.
