Not sure why you would ever need farm hides for money. I never had issue with money and now at level 25 I'm sitting on 72k, without exploits or farming.

"Following the Thread" is vague quest and not in good way.

So Lamberts friend from another school got killed while on the job and we help him to track down killers. We track down leader of the group and he is witcher with business and family. Lambert says friend was killed in cold blood and leader says they were collecting debt from him and shit went bad. We don't get any emotion from him to judge either way and we don't get talk more about this all, but we are expected to judge him right there and then like WTF? Choosing to let him live or kill him both feel so empty choices as it's so vague case.

Horse races are shit.
Not because they are hard, they are very easy really, but:

-Roach controls sucks so much
-if you take a turn on the road, 99% of the time Roach will totally stop
-sometimes there are people wandering ON THE TRACKS: during the last Skellige race I met a merchant travelling on the road, and my opponent run directly in front of him stoppig almost totally.

Who thought it was a good idea putting those races in the game? They are not funny, they are not hard, they are totally useless.

There's literally no redeeming factor for them gameplay wise. I skipped all of them aside from the ones during the story. The less you use Roach the better unless they actually improved rising on 1.05.

So I noticed on the latest patch (PC) that you can now only have one White Gull at a time and also only one of something like Vitriol. before the patch I could make a bunch of white gull but now when I make one it tells me I already have it. Not too much of an issue there as most things just need one of it as the alcohol base but Vitriol is required for Superior Swallow and it needs 2 of it so you need to make a white gull, make a vitriol, drop a vitriol, make a white gull, make another vitriol, pick up the first vitriol and then make the potion.

Also, since the latest patch has anyones horse been super glitchy? Almost every ride he ends up running on two legs in some way kinda floating.

Yes, you can find them in chests, at least diagrams of equipment. But you never can find in a chest a diagram that you already had before (because you found it before or you bought it) so the game gives you a different diagram or a different piece of loot.

I have two other questions.

1. Do quests have time limits ? I just accepted one from Hattori in Novigrad. I need to meet him at a certain place at midnight. The problem is the quest is way too high level for me. Can I safely not go to that place or will the quest be failed if I don't ?

2. Where can I find information on the DLC ? The game told me via a prompt that it's in the tutorial section of the menu, but I didn't find any. I just don't know where to find the equipment the DLC offered.
