Witcher 2 returning character quest -
Damn, the Letho quest was fun. Loved all the traps he set up. I left Louis alive, I hope that he doesn't return later to bite me in the ass.

Jesus those Crones of the Bog are Silent Hill nightmare fuel....

...seriously. Some of the nastiest looking creatures I've ever seen. More uglier than botchlings.

Man, just finished the
Baron storyline and he hung himself in the end. Chills went down my spine when I saw him there and I felt sorry for the guy.

Need a little help with the quest "Of Dairy and Darkness": Is it kinda bugged or am I missing something?

I went to Aerama's place, inside the portal, past the cheeses, swam, disabled barrier, dispelled illusion, got the loot, and thought I was done with it. But now, a few hours later, I have two more objectives on that quest (I think they appeared after I completed the Nobleman's Statuette quest that I forgot I had) that tell me to Search Aerama's Residence using Witcher Senses and to Use Aerama's artifacts to activate the portal, but I don't know what i'm supposed to do, witcher senses don't reveal anything

Just spent 12k on rune blueprints. Found them all at the same merchant, too.
a scoiatel merchant outside Novigrad, one that is part of a Gwent quest.
Looks like that's the only money sink in the game?

I'm level 16 and I haven't even gone to Skellige yet. Feel like with the amount of sidequests I have, I'll be killing everything easily :\

Ah well.

Did you
come to his aid or screw up his plot? What I've noticed in this game is if someone tells you not to step in you probably shouldn't.

Anyone knows how to figure out your gwent card completion %?
I have no idea what cards am I missing at all.
I did all missable/special quests/leader cards, and brand new merchants stop giving me cards.

Screwed up his plot. I rather liked him towards the end of Witcher 2. At least he's at Kaer Moerhen, Vesemir will hopefully look out for him.

You know usually I'm not one to drool over a fake videogame woman but good lord they did a .... Fine job with Yennefer.

Reminds me of Morticia from Addams family a bit. Wearing the black tight fit gown in skellige

So I did the House Reardon side quest but
Letho's quest didn't show up.
I've played through The Witcher 2 one time only and imported that only save. I saved
Letho in it
and let the credits play out and everything, the save starts at the credits so I know it's from after my final choice. Is this a bug or something?

I'm having an awful lot of trouble with the... pacing, I guess?

I'm still fairly early - just met the Bloody Baron, and I'm at level 5 - and I find that an awful lot of stuff has a much higher suggested level. Even fairly inconspicuous side-quests have me bumping into enemies that are scores ahead of me and are almost unfightable.

But killing enemies found in the world gives a pittance of XP, and I'm having trouble finding quests that are in my level-range that are worth doing. Do I seriously have to hit as many question marks and notice boards as possible to find level appropriate stuff? I'm kinda baffled, to be honest.

I kind of grew fond of Triss, and Yennefer is kind of a bitch, but I'll stick with her for story reasons. I don't want to romance Triss just so she can disappear from the game and I feel awkward around Yennefer.

I know it's a game but the feels man... haha.

Don't worry about it. Do quests up to a level that is +2 from where you are, and everything balances out. I would suggest turning off POIs.

5 levels above you is doable so the level 7 stuff you see when you first arrive (at level 3 I assume) shouldn't be intimidating. Beyond that you can just run away for now. Scores ahead would be '??' level in which case you are completely boned.

Note the 5 level thing and you'll be fine.

Honestly I'm on Broken Bones and kinda wish I had done Death March. It was hard at first but now I can beat most things without too much trouble. Like the Souls games where numbers don't make a huge difference, it's more a case of knowing what to do. If you're skilled enough to dodge, counter, and use signs properly, then you can always come out on top.
You can change that on Options somewhere.

Cheers for the advice, pals. I'll persevere with it for now - just recently got to the first Ciri mission and I've found the story to be gathering a bit of steam now. Getting more and more into it. Might report back later.

" think of something before we die Geralt! "

Damn I want to kiss you Yen

Baha!

I also like the Megadeth reference in the " The King is Dead, Long live the King " quest name

The one thing (among many, really) that really has been impressing me are the facial animations.

Coming from how stilted the facial animations and lip sync was in TW2, they're pretty fantastic in Wild Hunt. Sure, they're not going to be as amazing as some game that has everything mocapped, but for a huge RPG like this they're fantastic without being too exaggerated. Just some of the little eyebrow movements, the way the eyes narrow or little grimaces and subtle movements can really sell some of these scenes. Its kind of a running theme for me with TW3, but its just another aspect of the game where I feel like CDPR really beat out BioWare and Inquisition where the facial animations there were typical super exaggerated BioWare facial animations they've been using since Mass Effect 1.

Question about romances:

Are you locked into one romance or can you complete the required side quests and basically get with all of the women?

Is there anything you can do that prevents further romance?

Just finished the quest Towerful of Mice and got no exp reward, wasn't the no exp bug supposed to be fixed with the 1.05 patch?

you can
get with as many women as you want but when you have to decide between Triss and Yen you have to choose one
you can
theoretically choose both
but it's not recommended.

I'd be in the dick
Made a lot of progress in the main quest today and it's blowing me away. Some of the mid game stuff rivals most game's endings.

Jesus christ...I haven't played since launch, finally loaded the game. Went into some small village area and some noonwraith showed up lol, creeped the hell out of me. I had no idea if my attacks connected, and then it was gone...

Can someone tell me the location of a blacksmith that has a high enough level to craft the Griffon sword? I'm level 11 and still in Velan at this point. Is there a location in Velen or do I need to go to Novigrad?

Hmmm, weird, did I bump into a weird glitch or something in a late game quest? Spoilers for The Great Escape:

I freed Rita and as soon as she and Yenn left for some reason the character log for Sile de Tanserville updated, and it said I mercy killed her? I didn't even see her in the prison.

Some of the different scenarios dont get updated correctly in the journals.
If you saved Sile in 2 then she's in the jail cell with rita and it close to dying. She asks to be mercy killed instead of being rescued and geralt can choose to do it.

You need to go to Novigrad since everyone in Velen is Amateur

Sounds like a bug. Thats what happens if she is alive in the game

And yet according to this pic.

You let her get
TORTURED!!

Figured she'd take care of herself if she chose to and she did
. Was kind of the tipping point for me. Learnt that she's too damn precious the hard way. Yen can take a walk

So I bought this on Thursday night and have been obsessed with it since. Never played a Witcher game before, but I've always wanted to dig into the series and the buzz around this one sealed the deal.

So far this has been a terrific experience. I've been working on the Bloody Baron quest line, which has been fantastic. The world building and the stories being told, even in small quests, is incredible. The other thing I like, but am still getting used to, is how nothing is clear cut. To elaborate, none of the choices I've made have been black or white, it's all been gray area. It feels totally different from most other rpgs I've played.

Another thing I'm loving is Geralt. I don't know how he comes off in the other games but I'm finding him fantastic in this one. With the way I've been playing I feel like he's super no bullshit but there is a kindess or at least sincerity to the character that is awesome. From almost minute one I was totally on board with his character and felt like I had spent hundreds of hours with him. All the characters so far, have felt just as well realised.

I'm just blown away by the game. It's so dense in just the right ways that it makes learning about and exploring the world fantastic.
