So I have 3 failed quests. First was the dying woman at the herb ladies hut in White Orchard, didn't realize there were time limited quests... but the other two are outright glitches.

First is Novigrad, Closed City. I completed this quest, got the notification and all. Then there's The Gangs of Novigrad, which I couldn't talk to Cleaver about anything, Geralt would just stand up and go "No time for your squabbles." So it eventually failed after I furthered in the story.

Cheers for the advice, pals. I'll persevere with it for now - just recently got to the first Ciri mission and I've found the story to be gathering a bit of steam now. Getting more and more into it. Might report back later.

haha, that will be for another 100 hours

this game is too damn good

Got the full mastercrafted Ursine weapons and armour. I'm level 35, guess I should just finish the main quests now.

Just a wild guess but I had that and a few others do that to. Perhaps the NPC related to them
dies or something before they could give you another quest so the game fails the previous one even if you finished it, collected XP from it, etc.? Not wholly sure.

And those boots. Gold is so tacky.
Wait til you see the mastercrafted griffin armour under certain lighting conditions. Tacky.

It's worth getting the Griffin Armor. Witcher armor is still the best in the game by far. Best looking, too.
agreed. If anything, the 3 school armors should be a priority throughout the game, even if you don't plan on wearing every version. One will lead into another, meaning you'll always have gear close to your level

Griffin->Cat->enhanced Griffin->Bear->enhanced Cat etc. etc.

You mean the Black Beast of Caerbannog? Yeah that was an awesome little detail :D

So I just upgraded to a 960 and the game was fluctuating between 35 - 55 frames on High settings, causing noticeable stuttering, so I capped the framerate at 30, bumped everything up to Ultra and it runs like an absolute dream. Should've done that from the start -- a solid 30 is so much better than a loosey-goosey 40/50. I was impressed because my processor's pretty low rent (Intel i3 2130) but doesn't seem to matter at all.

I've just reached Trish and, despite having completed TW2, I can't really remember what went on between them, apart from saving her at some point, so I don't really get what she's alluding to half the time.

Will my rig be able to handle this game? I've been wanting to play it on PC, but I can settle for PS4 if my rig isn't that suitable.

I love this game. But the constant stopping of Roach is extremely annoying and really ruins an epic chase scene i'm partaking in currently.

An actual roach has a bigger brain than Roach, that dumb horse is the worst. I'd love to see a mod or a patch come out that makes him more responsive and not get hung up on stuff so much.

Man I love how
when you're in Roche's hideout there's a light version of the Witcher 2 theme. Really felt like I was reuniting with an old friend. Roche is the best.

You can hear it at other, similar times.
(Velen side quest spoiler)
When you reunite with Letho, it plays in the cutscene that concludes his quest IIRC.
I'm erring on the side of caution, but Letho and Roche were shown in the launch trailer.

This game is so damn amazing. Can someone tell me if a Witcher 2 character makes a return?

I'm just looking for a yes/no and if it is hard to find.

Is Iorveth in this game? I really liked him in Witcher 2 and have seen some other characters but not him, yet.

He is the only Witcher 2 character that doesn't return!

So, yeah, the Witcher 1 in context of what we know is hilarious. (Also pretty terrible to play after this one, but that's to be expected). Triss says "So, you don't remember anything? Okay, great! Let's have sex!"

Girl is shaaaaddyyy. Yenn should've thrown her out the castle window, tbh.

All is fair in lover and war.

Guys, the captain on the ship to Skellige wont talk to me. He says kiss my ass
Did I do something wrong?

There are three captains you have to talk to. Are you sure you are in the correct one? Do you have the money?

Closed City is really not a quest but a collection of miniquests, I suspect it's failing because there was some of them that you didn't discovered. Or maybe it's a bug introduced in the last patch.

revisit the people from time to time. I tried to play Djikstra in gwent at one stage but it triggered the beginning of another quest and wouldn't let me initiate dialogue with him. I just had to do a few other things to get him to move around before I could play cards with him.

I'm playing on a comp that's at least 3-4 years old, I dont even know the CPU. i7 something. Win 7. 8 GB Ram. And an AMD 7970, not sure how that compares to the 760.

I got a constant 30 fps at 2500x1600 everything on high, textures on ultra (hair off). Looks gorgeous.

If I bump down to 1080p, I get 45-50.

I just killed
that guy who always wants to fight you. Feel kind of bad since he was so outmatched :/

The duelist who acts in the name of the maid?

Putting together what someone pointed out to me earlier.
If you read notice boards around Velen you'll happen upon one about a death of a small child. A young girl who died at age four with a note of welcoming people to pay respects.

Her name. Bilberry.
The maid the duelist talks about? Bilberry.
The duelist was quite possibly the father and the maid whose name he wishes to spread could quite possibly be that of his aforementioned dead daughter.
Congrats.

I didn't want to do it :\ I assumed he would just yield like he always did.

This fucking game. :/

This is like the
black pearl dude quest
which finishes with an
Alzheimer story.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

I felt bad but laughed so hard. First two encounters were easy enough but whatever; bit of a dual, get him down to enough health and he yields. On the third encounter I was so overpowered it only took one hit and Geralt entered his knock-over-decapitation finisher. It happened so fast and was so horrifically gruesome I couldn't help but feel if there was more dialogue/yielding to be done I was too overpowered to see it.

This one was really great. Simple, but deliberately tedious too, just so you could get that "err, sorry man" finality.

Doesn't give him the right to ramdomly bother passengers and endager them with his demand to duel him.

82 hours in, and I finally have a Mastercrafted Feline Set in full. Looks incredibly spiffing. Never imagined I'd go for light armor when I started the game. Getting close to the end, but lots yet to do. Build's also done; went for Fast Attack/Igni/Health Sustainability. Crushing all who stand in my way.

Rhaknar

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
meh game is telling me if I go to the
isle of mists
some sidequests might become unavailable, how can I possibly know which ones :/

all my sidequests are higher lvl than
Isle of Mists
tho, which is 22 and my lowest side quest is 24

Sorry, but is this
The Phantom of Eldberg
?
If so, how did you unlock it? I proceeded into the plot but this mission doesn't unlock for me, it's the only one I'm missing. Funny fact is, if I go to the village nearby, there are folks talking about
a haunted place
, but no one gives me the quest.

Yup. I basically just followed the quest marker to the contract giver, and went into the tavern there. A cut scene is automatically triggered.

Indeed a gorgeous location! What amour is that? It looks amazing!

First level of bear armor. Still using griffin gloves though :)

So if you sleep with Triss and send her to the Witcher place does that make her your choice? I did her side quests as soon as i got them. Am i stuck with her now?

That would be harsh given i haven't had chance to get to know Yen yet.

You have to meet madman lugos before that quest unlocks. For reasons that I won't spoil.

guy was a massive dick and I did all that I could to spare his life.

So i just finished the Tower Of mice. An amazing side quest and i couldnt help but have
Sex with the lady

Hope that doesn't come back to bite me on the ass later.

A lot of quests i do are grey and therefore gives me no experience. If this was any other RPG i would be pissed due to the lack of sense of progression. Not here though since unlike most other RPGs the story content of these side quests is reward enough.
