Where can you find Triss after you completed the quest
where she escape Novigrad with a bunch of mages? I did "Redania's Most Wanted" quest afterwards, and decided not to give the crystal I found to Radovid. But the quest is completed and there is no followup to bring that crystal to someone else, but the quest completed log does say to bring it to his "sorceresses allies", and I remember Geralt mentioning Triss in the cave.

Huh, I read you could run into people from other quests and did with that first one Missing in Action, but now I can't find those people. Can't quite remember where they were supposed to be either.

if only you didnt have to do all the side stuff... oh wait

That's how I play and everyone says the side quests are the best so how am I to know what to skip and what not. it has not to do with the length of the game but how the game is rather simple from a gameplay standpoint.

I am running right into a burnout with this game. I am about 65 hours in and just now finished act1. It's too big. If the gameplay was very interesting it could keep my attention but I know exactly how every mission, every battle, every side quest will play out in terms of mechanics, all that changes are the stories. 30 hours ago I was riveted with the game, now I feel I am going through the motions. I may need a break... No way I finish this before batman.
I may be getting there myself. Gonna stop doing points of interest and stick to a few side quests and main quests at a time. No way I can do everything this game has to offer. On the plus side, I am finding Novigrad to be a refreshing change of pace.

I hate the armor so far

My Witcher looked like a badass when I began the game and now he looks like a fucking clown. I thought you were supposed to get cooler stuff as you progress in games.

For me it was the opposite, I found movigrad to be tedious. Too much running from marker to maker talking to people, fighting an occasion guard patrol and repeat. I am finally out of there, I can't wait to just ride around and explore, that's my favorite part.

It isn't like Act 2 and Act 3 are the same size of Act 1. They are much shorter and more focused on the main story.

Good and I am sure once I hit skelligrad I will be energized again. I love boats and sailing across islands.

Also, why you shouldn't be concerned about "acts":

Act 1 is whatever you want to be, given that the game officially doesn't have "Acts", it's a division done by the dude who wrote the guide.

Personally, it makes more sense this division:

Act 0 tutorial and White Orchard
Act 1 Velen
Act 2 Novigrad
Act 3 Skeillige Islands
Act 4
Kaer Mohen setup and battle, and a few quests that open up when you finish KM
Act 5
final quests done in Skellige Islands and the final battle

And even using this division Act 4 and 5 are shorter than Act 1-3.

edit: lol not realizing Turin replied to you. I need sleep.

For those who beat the game (main story progress question)

Just lifted the curse from Uma. How much longer do I have?

Ok, so I just finished the Whoreson quest and leave his compound when Radovid's men stop me and bring me to his boat, and he tells me to capture Phillipa. However I can't leave the boat, and my weapons are missing. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get off?

You're also more likely to take on and finish most of the side content before moving onto the story. And then when all you get is mostly main story quests and you have no more sidequests or contracts you do the later story missions feel much shorter when you pile them together as "acts".

Head to the gangplank and talk to the sergeant to get off.

Just finished the
tower of mice quest. HOLY JEEZ THIS GAME. I had to stop playing after that. Just insane. What also is incredible and kinda of stressful going forth, is that if I didn't choose the same dialogue choices I did I would have missed out on the kissing scene.

after like 90% of the SIDE quests in this game, I almost literally do this after completing each one :

1310245665-0cafd8f926b864b3df36917f1f8b49f4.gif

i remember a pair that clearly weren't as good as Tower of Mice, but even then the small amount of dialog that the quest giver had was super good.

For example I remember a contract to go and clean some Drowner nest. In other words the most uninteresting quest that can exist in the world of the Witcher. I think the only "twist" was that
an old water hag was with them. Like, who cares, I also kill Hags without problem
.

But the quest givers was a woman that tells you how she lost a son to the sea, in the cliff where the Drowners are supposed to be, he never came back home. Desperate, the father went every morning to search for him, not losing hope, even if she pleaded for him to stay, as it was too dangerous and she didn't want to lose both. But he couldn't stay still, he couldn't let it go, he had to try. Until one afternoon, the father also didn't come back...

I'm loving all these bossfights, I felt Witcher 2 lacked any meaningful bossfights, save Letho of course, but in 10 hours of playtime I've

Killed a Griffin. Slayed a Golem and taken out one of KotWH's lieutenants (?)

Holy shit do other RPGs have a lot to live up to after this. I especially love how this feels more like a continuation of the first game, only with much much larger areas to explore and combat that isn't ass. Great game. This year is too damn good with the games coming out.

The only thing I hate is how you have to equip talents and how the new potion system works. I much prefered the 30 minute durations of the first two where you could just pick whatever you wanted and roll with that for a while. Now you have to pause a whole bunch and juggle different potions. It'd be a bit better if you could select potions from the selection wheel at least.

Yeah alchemy isn't really viable since you only have two quick-slots for potions. I'd like it if you could build a potion pre-set where you can drink 5-6 with one click.

when people say the sidequests are the best they ar emost likely talking about the stories. You said you find the gameplay boring and know what to expect and the story doesnt interest you... so...yeah. /shrug

anyway, how long until the end story wise from
Final Preparations
? just did all the side quests I had (except the horse racing stuff and gwynt etc), and only have 2 contracts which are higher level than me (33 and 35, im 31).

Yes alchemy is broken. With the new patch you can only have one of any crafting material. Maybe they'll get out a hotfix soon enough. Although I already finished the thing so it doesn't affect me too much.

Wow, really? Man, with the stuff that keeps breaking every time they fix something it's gonna take some time to get this game to the level of quality it really should have been at at launch. They clearly don't run any comprehensive test suites before releasing these patches. I mean, I get that bugs sneak in, especially in a game like this, and that fixing something can break something else (although for something so seemingly unrelated to break your code has to be pretty tangled up and poorly decoupled), but to not catch such a major system ceasing to function as intended? Sigh.

Total play time can't be right, 13 days and 17 hours?

Completely and utterly broken. Seems like a simple feature, but it doesn't work right at all in this game. Often it will add on a bunch of time, and for me it has now started resetting itself to zero. Nobody (at least on PS4) is gonna have an accurate measure of how long it took them to beat this game, which is a shame IMO. I enjoy statistics like that. And this isn't even something they can fix. Yeah, they can fix it so that it's accurate from that point forward, but the time that has already been incorrectly saved is broken forever.

What's a good place to level up and get gold early? I can't seem to get anywhere..
Just started the game and I'm on the "find Ciri" quest and still lvl 3. I can't fight anything because all monsters are levels ahead and my gear sucks lol.

I tried doing some lower level quests, but I don't get much out of those either. Going to undiscovered locations usually gets me killed...

Doing the main quests are the quickest way to level up.

I loaded about maybe 9-12 hours earlier just so i can redo my choices with the crookback bog witches and kiera... the game was getting way too depressing. haven't felt this terrible since the soprannos.

The in-game clock is broken across all three platforms.

Currently Steam's overlay is the most accurate time keeper.

It's a shame that the PS4 doesn't have a system-level feature for tracking time played for every game. Seems simple enough (even Nintendo has that!). If it did I could more easily ignore the in-game counter being such a mess.

Okay. There are still plenty of quests in Skellige that start at 15ish. But it's your choice if you want to do everything in Velen before moving on.

Nah I just wanted to do all the main ones and most of the contracts within range. I'm already well passed the level 16 of the skelligrad main quest. I need to get on that before I become too over leveled.

Right before the last quest, at level 29. I want to get to 31 so I can get the mastercrafted cat gear. What's the fastest way to level up.
