Guys, is it still worth it to play through 1 and 2? I found witcher 3 one of the best rpgs I have ever played.

2 is pretty awesome, and worth playing, just know the scope is much narrower.

Harder to recommend 1. I think you should try if you have a PC to play it. It's not like it's expensive.

Also, read the books!

1 is really uninviting and a completely different beast, but some people love it the most. 2 is a little more accessible, but feels like a less accessible 3 all around. Also the story is very very political.

If that sounds ok, then by all means.

Really beginning to get a bit bored of this. Im playing through it but I feel im forcing myself to and not really enjoying it.

Im at novigrad doing the
dandelion quest
. Haven't been to skellige yet but I look at my map and see all the ?s and just think I cant be bothered.

Cant put my finger on it. Maybe just a but repetitive.

Will keep going though.

Pretty elaborate considering she didn't even go into the house when thinking of stuff :p

What's odd about that whole quest is that
according to Geralt to trick the Hym the person has to feel genuine anguish over what they've done, which would mean Geralt had to actually believe he threw a baby into an oven and not know it was some kind of trick?

If I finish everything up before heading to Skellige will I be over levelled? Should I go now? Can I come and go as I please?

Yes and yes.
If you finish everything in Novigrad and Velen, you'll be at level 20+ or even 25 and way overleveled Skellige quests. Some quests in Skellige start at 15-17.

I'm on the looking for Dandelion quest. I've put in about 40 hours. I feel like I haven't done much main story wise, lol

Yeah, you're still far away lol.

Hello, a "RP" question here :
Do you think the book Geralt would help to
assassinate Radovid ? It's true he kills mages and nonhumans, but witchers have to be neutral...

the circumstances and arguments they bring forth towards him are enough to convince me that
for him it's the best option to help due to his friends being threatened

Am I the only one that has given Geralt the pretty boy mop top?

I think it might be the best hair if you want to go for a Jaime Lannister look.

Was actually dissapointed by mastercrafted feline, I feel like that set looks less special the more you upgrade it.

I actually think the opposite, the lower levels of it looked really bland to me, the first level was basically just a vest. I love the collar and mix of chainmail and studded leather on the mastercrafted version.

I have not played a game this much (non-multiplayer) in ages. It's definitely a great game. I don't know how much game is left, but I'm at the quest called Final Preparations. I'm already contemplating a second play through so I can make different choices (romances among others) and do different secondary quests and contracts. I let so many secondary quests expire because I got sucked into getting enthralled with the main quests. I'm definitely going to get the season pass when it's time as well. I had zero intention of even buying this game as I own Witcher 1 and 2 and never put more than a few hours into each, but I got it for free with my gtx 970 and thought why not buy this brand of the card because free ain't bad. Best free bundled game ever.

Some semi-spoilerly Novigrad level 15ish questions regarding Triss and a couple other quests around there.

She's already left and I asked her to go to Kaer Morhen. Doing other quests Geralt has remarked on asking Triss about items (a figurine in Zoltan's quest, an item in Phillipa's abandoned hideout). Am I going to get a chance to ask her (or say, Yennefer) about these items or am I screwed with her not being in Novigrad anymore. I presume I'll see her later in the story, just want to know if I've missed out on a couple quests.

The entire conversation with Yennifer at
Kaer Morhen
is complete gold. She's like 1000x better than Triss, would have liked to know that a bit sooner though...

There's a point in the story where Triss returns to Novigrad, and you'll have a chance to do them then.

There should just a be high ponytail without having to shave the sides, I like the default look the most but I don't like how it clips through the collar on some chest armor.

Do we know what next weeks DLC are going to be? I still haven't found a reliable source of this information....

It hasn't been confirmed but steam outed a new set of Gwent cards and a "Fool's Gold" Quest as next week's DLC. Besides those we also still have DLC references in the game's files to :

Ciri Alt Costume
Triss Alt Costume
New Game+

Gonna finish this tomorow. Half of me is ready to be done with it, half is bittersweet that it's ending. What a ride that's for sure

Just a quick question for those that finished the game, does the game end in a way that it makes sense that Geralt would continue doing side quests after the main quest is finished?

Turn off the "?s" and only do them if you run across them in the world. They are completely unnecessary.

I think it might be the best hair if you want to go for a Jaime Lannister look.

I've tended to get my hair and beard styled to go along with whatever my adventures are at the time. Novigrad always means a fresh shave, and usually one of the shorter hairstyles, like the mop top. Thought the same thing about channeling some inner Jaime Lannister. But once I head to the isles, the beard grows out, and the hair gets long.

The only one I can't stand is the shaved on the sides, short on top with ponytail cut. That one is never in the rotation.

Soooo whats the
red moon
in the weather indicator??? happen just before I kill somebody in a main quest.

Any tips for the Jenny o The Woods contract? I hate bosses that regen health...
The trick to beating wraiths:
Before triggering the fight.
Coat your blade in Spectre Oil.

As soon as the fight starts:
Go into the inventory screen.
Take a Tawny Owl potion to boost stamina recovery.
Take a Thunderbolt potion.
Make sure Moon Dust bombs are equipped.

Now back to the fight:
Use Quen immediately and once the wraith approaches cast Yrden.
Stay near the trap and coax the wraith into it. It won't damage it but it will make it become solid so you can hit it.
When you get a chance throw a Moon Dust grenade at the wraith.
Smash it with fast attacks. Keep triggering Quen and Yrden. If you take damage use Swallow, cast Quen and try to recover some health.

I've demolished wraiths a few levels above me using this method so it definitely works.

I'm about 3-4 hours into a new play through, but I think I'll wait a bit for the New Game+ option, that sounds a lot more appealing. Hope it turns out fairly soon.

ended up doing another "red skull" quest rather easily...in the end it was better that way since i was locked with that quest with no possibility of escaping..but if even +6 lv quest doesn't pose a challenge,it means the game has some problems with how powerful it makes you

It was so great. I'm on Team Triss so when I was being mean to her she
pushed me into a portal which teleported me 100 ft above a lake... I had to swim back to Kaer Morhen. So fucking good, I was laughing pretty hard.

Why aren't you in Skellige yet? You're 65 hours in, just go there. You can perfectly play it alongside Velen

well the reason I wasn't, at 70 hours or so, was that I was trying to do all quests around my level, and I had a TON.

The suggested level is general. You could be level 18 with shitty gear and have trouble with a level 17 monster, or you could be level 18 with enhanced witcher gear and good character points and breeze through level 22 stuff. That's why it's important to not only level up but explore and find good gear and mats.

Witchers don't really have to be neutral and Geralt certainly isn't, it's just smart to not get involved in the political intrigue of people you have no allegiance to
and I really doubt that a plot such as this would ever work outside a goofy video game where you can repeatedly keep murdering henchmen of a king who hires you, even in the center of a large city, and get away with it. Every step of that plot sounds like asking to become somebody's puppet, if not straight-up suicide.

Yeah true but it's a little bit extreme considering his "witcher code", isn't it ?
There is no witcher code, it's just a basic set of guidelines which are going to help these developmentally challenged killing machines survive in the real world and prevent people from taking advantage of them.
Geralt's witcher code is his own and he still finds ways to bend those rules.

Yeah that was hilarious. I didn't expect that at all haha.
