Finished the game. 107 hours on B&BB. What a ride, but waiting either for NG+ or some more balance tuning maybe for a second playthrough. Might tidy up sidequests and hope I grabbed all the unique Gwent cards.

Cabaret Quest Spoilers

So I did this quest and then proceeded on to another and got into a rather large fight, was doing shit damage and could not figure out why and it turned out the DAMN FAKE PROP SWORD was still in my steel sword slot. I could not for the life of me figure out why I was suddenly doing so badly.

Once I saw that I felt rather foolish. :p

I complete the game once on the easier setting, played mostly main story quests and some sidequest, ended at level 28 or 29. Now I decided to start my second playthrough in Death March difficulty because I may as well try to get the Platinum Tropy, did everything I could in White Orchid before fighting the Griffin, manage to defeat it, feeling pretty good right now, since I heard the beginning of the game on this difficulty made Bloodborne look easy, now I'm about to start Velen, so my questions.

Seems the main different here is that enemies deal and can take a lot more damage and you don't heal during meditation, so I guess I should be buying as much food as possible, any tips here, are some foodstuff better than others for quick healing?

is there a way to know which markers are done, I noticed that even after I destroyed them the Monsters Nest where still showing in my map, without any clear indication of which ones were already destroyed, I can see this becoming annoying, do I basically have to keep mental track of everyone I've been to, or just try to destroy them as soon as I find them.

Gwent cards, how do I ensure I get them all? I know some vendors sell them, is there a rule to this or do I have to check with each single vendor? even the ones that show up after you clear an area with monsters.

Since I'm trying to get all trophies, are there any in particular I need to watch out for, that are easily missable or that become locked out after certain conditions ?

There are multiple Gwent cards you can miss. I'm pretty sure you need those to get the trophy.

Lolol exact same thing happened to me :)

Reading through the last few pages or so, I didn't realize the game expects you to explore Velen/Novigrad/Skellige at the same time.

I'm still super early in the game. Just messing around in Velen. Does the game let you know, "hey, maybe try going here once in a while" or is there no hand holding at all?

You can go to either but the quest being 16 makes you think you should go at at 16 which means finishing Novigrad. Novigrad doesn't have anything above 16 to clue you in to maybe taking a detour for a while either.

The main Skellige stuff can be done as low as 11 since there really isn't much in the way of combat but, Skellige sidequests are higher than Velen so that makes you think you shouldn't be there AND if you do go to Skellige and just knock out a couple quests with Yen, by the time you go back a bunch of stuff in Velen will be grey.

The game pushes you to go Velen -> Novigrad -> Skellige

Boy, is it ever fucking stupid that their free DLC gives the game always online DRM. Well, on loading a saved game at least. Roommate decided he was a CISCO admin and fucked with the router settings, and now my PS4 doesn't connect to the internet reliably. He's buying a new one tomorrow cause "this one's broken now". /wrists

Finally made it through the end of the Bloody Baron quest path and holy shit. I done fucked up

I might have to stop playing for the night. Damn that was not what I was expecting.

2 on one is insane until you discover the block button and how holding it blocks literally everything. You can even block in mid dodge, and dodge while holding block. It took me until a three on one to find out.

It just doesn't seem so logical when sword blocking is so precarious.

that's interesting. will come in handy soon.

Unfortunately I spoiled myself and know I'm not getting the "bad end" due to my choices already.

In retrospect I kind of wish I had. It sounds like that makes a real impact.

Listen, Ciri's great and all... But I'm really going to need some DLC where you play as a Witcher of the Feline and do Elven shit.

I'm glad I didn't spoil myself on it because, man, that was just a punch in the face. Easily one of the best quest lines in a game this year for me.

OH MY GOD

The end of the Baron questline. Holy shit. Did I fuck up badly?

I released the forest spirit to save the children so the Crones killed Anna and Baron hung himself. Was it possible to save them?

I feel sick.

If you need a pick-me-up head on over to
Downwarren
.

This ain't Dragon Age. Soon as you start playing it that way Witcher 3 smacks you in the face.

This game is in my top 3 rpg's of all time, it's just fucking incredible how quests build on top of each other and everything you're doing has a real reason behind it, nothing feels like a dumb fetch quest, geralt is awesome and the characters he surrounds himself with are incredibly written and well acted. And visuals? I'm playing on an Xbox one and its still one of the most gorgeous games I've ever played, the soundtrack is top notch to, I love the music that kicks in when you go into battle or that just plays for ambiance sake in skellige. This game is an achievement and not to be missed, so far, it's the oblivion of this generation.

I just beat it today, and the last few story missions are really good,
like going to different worlds

I want to start it up again...just wish there was a new game plus

Just finished Carnal Sins...

Glad I wasn't too hasty on the Hot Poker man (forget his profession), but I killed him anyway. Got his poker then killed the Vampire.

I'm up to the werewolf near the big tree for the Ladies of the Wood quest line.

The werewolf seems way overpowered? It keeps regenerating its health fully before I'm able to kill it. I've tried using quen and Axii and straight up slashing the werewolf with fast attacks and strong attacks but nothing is working right now. Also used Thunderbolt and enhanced my armour and weapons too. Using the silver sword right now.

Do I need to craft a special weapon or put cursed oil on my sword?I don't know how to get these. I'm level 6 at the moment and the werewolf is level 8.

Is the Reasons of State quest bugged?
I can't kill Radovid because he's barricaded off and the waypoint in the area isn't working.
Sometimes...
I reload an autosave from the beginning of the bridge to fix it. I think sometimes a few witch hunters at the end don't agro, so the cut scene doesn't trigger.

I hate it that most heavy plate armor made Geralt looks fatty.
You take who you can get, I'm sure most of your pawns are the best shape.
i agree on your point but I tend to prefer light Armour anyways.

Two levels isn't much, you've got the right tactics.
If you're shielded go heavy, you can out DPS his regen. Try backing him into the rocks so you can just cut into him.

First step: read the bestiary entry on werewolves; it will list all of their weaknesses. If you don't have anything its weak to on hand, such as the Moon Dust bomb, then you'll need to improvise or level up/get better equipment and try again later. My tip: if you can keep up the offense you'll be able to win with the starting silver sword; I know because I did this. (NinjaEdit: This was on Blood & Broken Bones, I should add.).

Personally, I couldn't stop its regeneration so I used Thunderbolt and Tawny Owl to maximise my offensive potential, and wore it down that way. Took more than a few tries but it got the job done.

Good luck.

Does anyone have a list of gwent cards or at least the number of unique ones? Merchants and Blacksmiths are no longer giving cards as rewards even when I find new ones. Not sure how many I'm missing.

This doesn't seem right.

I had that happen and had to reload to an earlier save to get it to work.

Sometimes...

I reloaded the save and found
that I ran ahead without going at the same time as Roche and that's what kept causing it to happen for me.

Thanks guys! It worked.
Yeah you have to wait for Roche or a couple of the witch hunters don't agro. There was also a small cutscene with Roche I missed when I rushed ahead the first time.

Now or Never spoilers
I did not make out with Triss at the party and I did not try to stop her. She left... Is she ever coming back or is gone for good? Can anyone please let me know without spoiling anything?

I tried putting points into Yrden to see how good the alt version was after people were raving about it....and it still seems terrible. Ticks about every 2 seconds for 200 damage, where as burn damage from Igni ticks for almost 400 damage every second, and that's without points in it. Tested with %150 sign intensity on Endregas and Wolves, will try on more creatures

Beat it! What a game.

Not sure where I got it, but
at some point during the final moments of the game I got a silver sword that did 1500+ in damage. I look forward to using that in expansion 1!

I also completed it on Death March difficulty - which wasn't that hard if you level up beyond what is suggested of quests.
