Maxing out Efficiency and Cluster Bombs is amazing.

Nearly killed a Royal Wyvern contract purely by throwing 9 Superior Grapeshots at it. Got really laggy towards the end because of all the smoke left behind.

Royal wyvern's character model was so big that it was always hit 3-6 times. It could not budge, at 6 fragments the bombs explode in a clean circle around the target pretty consistently.

Also, just throwing a single max cluster Dancing Star can create a massive wall between me and the monster because it can't get through the fires without getting burned. Unless it's immune to burning of course, then it doesn't work.

So if I have two skill slots filled already and have 3 points available to spend - are those points basically useless until more slots open up? And around when do mutagens become available?

I'm only level 3 at the moment .. Gonna go kill
the griffin
soon.

If you're really struggling just find an empty house near a fast-travel point and drop your unwanted shit. It'll stay there forever. Call it home.

Not true. I lost a ton of stuff doing this. :( Don't drop stuff next to the house of the guy that pays you full price for your trophies. It only happened after I started visiting Skellige. So it might have something to do with the fact that Skellige is a separate map.

Quick questions:

1. Where do I find the Puffball bomb formula?
2. Where can I find the map to the first set of Bear Armor schematics?
3. I have downloaded the DLC on STEAM but I can't find the option to change Yen's outfit or anything else. Am I missing something obvious? I had a prompt display about going into the tutorial but I got rid of it before I read it :/

Thanks!

1. Go to the Herbalist hut east of Oxenfurt.
2. I think the blacksmith in Kaer Trolde sells it.
3.In the main menu you have a downloadable content tab, there you can turn costumes on/off.

Damn some blacksmith on stellige gave me the hardest time with gwent with his nilfgaard deck full of spies. Finally managed to beat him with one point. I cheered like I defeated a hard souls boss.

No, because some skills have several levels of strength and you can power them up with further points

Monsters will randomly drop mutagens, boss monsters are guaranteed to drop

2. Can't remember :(
3. Main Menu. Before you load up your save.

Has anyone succeeded in completing both Get Junior and The Gangs of Novigrad?
What gives you the best outcome? Anyone want to help me?

From what I played Gangs of Novigrad is just
Cleaver's dwarves helping you to fight through Whoreson Jr's arena and casino during the Get Junior quest. I going to guess that if you don't do Gangs then maybe you can try other ways of completing those (I did pick up a note that would let me fight in the arena) rather than just rushing in a slaughtering everyone in sight.

already tried it...
still seems to awake even if i avoid the snow

already tried that..it still wakes up
Maybe it's a glitch then, or you think you're avoiding it when you aren't? You can tell if you're accidentally stepping on it by the sound when you walk over it.

Yep. There are some guys who I'm playing who piss me off so much that I will play all the rest of my cards I have left even after I've won just to rub it in.
Yes I know it's just a computer but I don't care!!!!

Question about ability points:

Is it ok to put points in a couple trees or should I just go full combat or full signs?

I'd like to get my regular attacks maxed out and then put some points into the signs I like, but I don't know if I'll be hurting myself in the late game that way.

It really depends on what level the griffin is. Check the level of the contract for further guidance.

Lvl 35.

I did some 33 ages ago, nobody one shotted me. lol

Time to level up and gear up more I guess.

I'll be back for that bird.

Experiment. You can always respec with a potion anyway, 1k coin tho.

There's one other change I can think of

If you go the Gangs of Novigrad route,

You won't be able to sneak in the back way to get to Whoreson's hideout. And when you go up to the gate, one of the guards recognizes you and you have to fight your way through the front.

Of course either way you'll have to do some fighting, you just end up doing more that way.

There's a nice mod that transform the upgraded kaer morhen armor into a carbon copy of mastercrafted Griffin stat-wise. Way better than the overdesigned Griffin armor which also made Geralt look fat.

I may have done too many side stuff (even if didn't feel that way), but I'm pretty much destroying everything in the second highest difficulty, having spread my points a bit everywhere (albeit a slight focus on combat).
So I'd say you'll be fine.

I'm guessing you didn't complete that quest

I think you can do this either way. I personally ended up making a hybrid build on Death March that didn't get far into any tree (few third and no fourth tier skills), and it worked great.

My gut is that going heavy into the combat tree isn't as worthwhile as say alchemy or to a lesser extent signs, but I still think it would be OK.

Got the Card Collector trophy, that was way more stressful than it needed to be, once you get down to your last few cards you really start second guessing whether you've screwed up and missed some along the way, the quest really needed some stats showing how far along you are.

can someone tell me how to use puppet correctly? Half the time they just stand there. It's equipped and I'm holding down the right trigger.

Two questions.

For that trophy about taking on two contracts with only sword and crossbow, what are good ones to do for that? I'm about to take on the Griffin in White Orchard so would that be a good one to tackle?

Regarding gear, I'm doing a largely sign based build for Death March so would Griffin gear be the best one to focus on?

Oh and is there a particular faction to go for with Gwent?

Go with one color as much as possible so you can have mutagem sync.
The general skills are really good, and probably the reason why they don't give you additional snyc bonus.
If you want to be an unstoppable killing machine, invest into the 3 general skills that focus on combat and adrenaline.
The general skills allow you spam signs like crazy because you don't rely on your stam bar anymore.
You are like an arcane knight class.

Gwent monster decks are OP.

Nilfgaard deck, 99.33333% of winning.
So many spies, so many medics, so many decoys, and a broken leader card to steal a card from the discarded deck.
How can you win against an opponent with 20+ cards to play while you only have 10?

What really? So there's three skills to go for there? I picked up the Griffin school one, so was that one?

Not really. Scorch, the Burn Dragon and Frost all deal some hefty blows to it. You can wipe out entire monster chain rows with the first two. Just make sure your cards have lower attack values to begin with.

I'd wait it out, you'll almost certainly end up outleveling a few contracts and even if you don't, there's a couple where you're not fighting monsters so to speak.

I would like to see remasters of Wicther 1 and 2 on PS4. maybe with wicther 3's combat system. I heard its pretty bad in the 1st couple of games.

But I would really like to see more of this world.

No, it is at the bottom.
Rage management, Focus, and the next skill next to it, can't remember the name.
Rage management allows you to use signs by using adrenaline points.
Focus allows you to get adrenline point by using signs.
And the other talent allows you to hit harder with more adrenaline points.
You can already see the positive loop...casting a sign give you adrenaline points and you can use that to cast more sign, and repeat to be stupidly broken.
