back in Skellige to do
Sunstone and Boarding Emyhr ship
after having cleared all the sidestuff. I guess im just about to finish it?

Is it just me or is the day/night cycle kind of goofy? Like, the sun is rising at about 3 in the morning and it only is totally down by like 10PM or so. And nights never even seem that dark.

I guess that's fine since the best lighting in the game comes at dusk and dawn, its just kind of odd how short night seems.

Are there any merchants you can sell crossbow bolts to? Got like 10+ pounds worth of weight in them I'd be more than happy to get rid of, but if I can profit from them instead of just dropping them off in the wilderness somewhere, that'd be nice.

The trophy merchant just outside of the Northwest gate in Novigrad buys them.

Griffin trophy looks the best, but less impressive lookin' trophies provide xp bonuses. :/

Why would you ever need an XP bonus? There's a million things to do in this game and a lot of them give XP. I'm actively having a hard time balancing doing all this shit without outleveling it.

Explore our real world and you'll discover some strange day/night cycles here too.

yeah but the nights are still too bright..i understand that they want people to be able to see well..but there's close to no difference to the morning sometimes...you can't even use the cat potion during the night because it's still so bright.

I'd love a game where they could make the Night really really dark. Problem is though that then you'd get complaints about not being able to see where you are going (since in real life if you don't have any light sources or even a flashlight/torch you can't see much ahead of you).

I remember when I was in Scotland once and was walking out after dark in an uninhabited area I couldn't see two feet ahead of me and barely where I was stepping even with a flashlight.

Question about Triss romance questline.

[spoilers] I told Triss to stay and said I loved her, and she decided to stay, we did the dirty dirty, and then she left to Kaer Morhen[/spoiler]

However I later learned that if you do this you can't pursue a love interest with Yen. So I rebooted an older save, did the end to Triss' questline again, told her to stay, but then chose to let her go and she took off. I also kissed her at the ball mask party earlier.

But is that? Peace out Triss nice little fun three game adventure? I mean, I didn't want to pursue a love interest but it's kind of lame how she just bails? Does she ever come back?

Eh, more XP 'n abilities, the better—for me, anyways. I get that the XP you get from random battles is worth hardly nothin', but I only fight what's along the way to the next objective. Difficulty and overleveling isn't as much of an issue for me; I know the game can be harder, but I still like to be as powerful as I can possibly be. :p

That said, I do hope they balance things much better in later patches, or the inevitable Enhanced Edition.

Ah, hadn't thought of it that way but since this is all in the Northern Kingdoms, I guess that does make sense.

Still feels like nights are awfully brief and never that dark. I'm not one to want completely pitch black nights but with them being so bright it kind of takes some possible danger out of them, I guess.

You can see perfectly fine at 3am in the North during summertime. 'In real life' day-night cycle is pretty close to games day-night cycle.

So this is where I'm at

I just talk to the BB and beat him in GWENT. I been doing tons of side quests. I'm at level 10. The BB quest is the only Main quest i have started, But i have to go Skellige to help my Witcher friend with a quest. Two questions how far am i and should i do the quest now or wait till i have to go to Skellige

Little Red side quest :
Did you fight Little Red or let her kill Bertram ? Finally she's just a werewolf who wanted to live, strange we know that after we kill her.

you are just at the beginning basically..you still have an incredible long journey

you can decide to go to skellige whenever you want..even at your level you will find something to do there..but remember that the actual quest that makes you able to go to skellige is suggested for lv 16 if i remember correctly

She
comes back once you get to Kaer Mohren
. On a side note, Triss>Yen

Just finished the game and it certainly was a ride. I wouldn't mind playing through again on accounts that I didn't do everything and managed to screw up the relationships, but the game is so long I'll hold off to see if that new game+ dlc happens.

Alternatively I might run through all three games sometime, importing the saves from each.

So is there a special person to sell the trophies(monster heads) to? I have like 12 and they taking up a lot of weight space.

alchemist north east of novigrad..in the crematory..is the only merchant i've found that buy things at 100% value..only problem is that he has very little money..so you either buy things from him first..or you are gonna sell one trophy at the time.

Just finished the main story. Really loved the whole story and ending. Great game, easily top 5 I've ever played.

I have no idea what to do with my time any more though :(

Night being really dark in games can be super awesome - Dragon's Dogma being the best example I've seen so far. Even with a lantern, the illumination wasn't very bright or large. You could run out of lamp oil or it could be extinguished by water and really screw you over. That was one great thing about the game - the risk of venturing out further meant potentially falling off cliffs or being ambushed, but if you went back to town to level and resupply, you had to make the trek all over again to explore new areas due fast travel not being present. So sometimes the best tactic would be to set out in the early evening so by the time you reached regions that were new to you, it would be daylight. The intense darkness at night/underground also made spells look incredibly awesome.

Day/night is quite toothless in W3. When I think it is slightly overcast, I'm usually surprised to find it's like 2 am. I am currently in Velen, so time of day may be more consequential later in the game. So far, it doesn't seem to have any bearing on quests or finding merchants/smiths to compulsively challenge to gwent, but admittedly I"m not far in.

witchers are iirc supposed to see a lot better than your average human in the dark even without any potions

it's quite nice when your setting has a built in excuse for gameplay stuff ^^ although then it doesn't explain why caves are quite dark
