Spoilers for the Skillege area

The game glitched hard on me last night. I was traveling by boat to that light house that is covered in fog and got attacked by harpies. Tried to get off the boat and ended up falling through the world then appeared in the sky and fell again.
I need to start saving more often :(

Anyway, quick question,
Does the guy at the bar/inn die regardless of the option you choose after completing that Witcher contract on the island in the Skillege area? I got blamed for that incident and was sent to jail.

I just hit level 9 last night, have one more final quest w/ the Baron, and my next marker shows to head to Skillege and I haven't even touched Novigrad yet.

Gonna trek Velen/Novigrad for quite a while yet, still have a lot of Witcher Contracts to dive into.

This game.........

So I finally finished the game this morning. I have no idea how many hours I put in, better part of 2 weeks, about an hour or 2 each of the week days and id estimate about 12 over the course of the weekends. finished at level 30.

I really enjoyed my time with this game. I dont have much a desire to go back in and finish up the quests I missed but it was good adventure, lots of laughs, emotions, and fun. Best part is, it finally broke my Destiny addiction which has plagued make since release. i loved playing Destiny with gaffers but felt compforted in just going on an epic adventure on my own. Felt good.

just some critques:
-graphics are hit and miss.
Some times thsi game looks photo realistic. I remember riding up to the barons house just as the sun was comming up over the ridge practically blinding me. The light refected on the puddles in the dirt. some parts of the day looking over the hills are breathe taking. Skellige is espacally good looking However most time at night or in the cities (Novigrad especailly were so bland looking) seemed off, like the game lost all processing power and looked like a PS3 game at times. I think it looked great for the most part, but I just wonder what happened in certain areas.

-overwhelming crafting system
I wouldnt call myself a casual gamer, but compared to some of you I might as well be a 3 year old swinging at trees lol. theamount of things you can pick up, dismantling for more things, the huge inventory of items it was overwheling, so much so I stayed away from it for most of the game. I ended up trying to go after some
wicther armor
I chose the
feline gear set
and had to craft at that point. it probably took the better part of an hour or more to try and figure out what I already had, what it could be borken down into, what I would need to craft to make something that I needed to craft something else. I had to bust out a notepad to keep track of it all. I have frerinds who love this sort of thing in games to me it was alot of work. if there was an easier way to catologue and sort what you had it wouldnt be so bad.

I'm with you on the crafting. I look at gaffers with this awesome gear and I was rocking my jester outfit until last night when I just so happen to see what I could craft w/ the armorer by the Baron. I look at my inventory and I feel like this:

japbcvpavbzau9dbuaxf.jpg

Like I said, I'm at level 9, I've yet to craft any weapons, just go w/ what ups my stats as I loot around. I have no idea what to sell, what I should sell, etc. or break down.

You can't
tell Triss that you love her. That seals you in.

You can tell her you love her but you can't plough her and i guess you can't kiss her (does that start the romantic sequence? I told both i love them and in the end my Geralt lived a happy cozy life with Yen.

Most of us pick a set of Witcher gear and focus on upgrading it. Feline gear is my preferred set but Ursine is also popular. The Feline gear is better than most of the garbage you pick up throughout the game, and you don't look like a color blind court jester in it. The swords are also better than others I pick up or can craft.

Here's the guide for the Witcher gear locations

Quen, Igni, and Axii are all really great paths.

Quen is defensive, Igni is offensive, and Axii is somewhere in between. I say Quen mostly though, because it's equally good against everything and can really save you in a pinch.

Axii is a must IMO as it opens up more conversation paths in some encounters.

Also when you upgrade them don't forget to make them active by putting them in a slot with a mutagen. I made that mistake and missed out on a bunch of Axii dialogue options.

Sell everything thats below your best gear. It's very rare that you have to break down something to get components that you don't already have or can't acquire easily. Only thing worth hoarding is some dimeritium ingots and plates for the higher level witcher gear.

Also, don't waste time heading out to look for certain parts you might need like "monster eye" or "monster feather". Use the dismantling / crafting option at a smith and see what you already have that can be turned INTO that stuff. Like for the Griffin Sword I needed 2 monster eyes and I was going crazy killing drowners trying to get them.... Meanwhile I had like 6 nekker eyes and 10 drowner eyes or whatever. I dismantled them into the generic "monster eye" and was good to go.

So if at first it seems like you don't have what you need, take a look at what you can either craft or dismantle into the necessary components.

I went with the feline gear since I didnt start crafting it until I was already level 19 and the others seemed weaker than my level. I went right for the enhanced upgrade and when I got to level 25 I changed to superior or whatever. I liked the way the the basic set looked. Wish it could have stayed the same. I also wish you could upgrade the starter gear all the way thruogh becuase it looked the best out of any Witcher gear id seen. I wanted to mastercraft it but didnt feel like grinding out that last few levels to wear it. oh well.

Game is amazing but....The movement and mechanics can still be frustrating. Geralt, Roach at times get stuck on objects easily, jumping is terrible. Really wish CD Project could fine tune the mechanics better. Other then that always being over levelled game is a masterpiece.

You can always craft the basic chest armor again if you like the look, but it will be weaker obviously.

A little help here - this might be a glitch or not - tough to tell.
(regarding the Baron's "Family Matters" quest, specifically the Botchling).

So I killed that Botchling creature, but a few missions later, when I ran through that area where I fought it, the fetus version of the Botchling is there, slightly hovering around the ground where he was supposedly buried, writhing around and making a noise. Needless to say, it was disturbing, but there was no way to interact with it. Also, I totally killed it earlier, so what is it doing there?
So weird!

Can you guys give me a sense of which crafting materials I need to hold on to and which I can get rid of?

I just finished White Orchard and I'm about to start Velen and I have so much stuff in my crafting tab but I'm nervous of what to keep and what sell.

Keep everything and then sell anything that is over 20.

I always felt like the Axii unlockable dialogues aren't really worth putting points into them. All it does is save you some money or avoid a fight that the other options give you. I'd rather put my points into something more useful.

It also gives you 40xp every time you use it, not a ton but adds up

Finally took a break, been playing all day.

I'm just finishing up some quests here and there in Velen before moving to Oxenfurt/Novigrad. Decided to help the
Bloody Baron try get his wife back from the swamp. I hope I get to kill the crones.

Before I do that there is a contract in the swamp I'm gonna do but right now I'm stuck on the Gwent quest. I've beat the
Baron, Soothsayer, and Little Kid
but can't seem to win against the
boatman in Oreton
. Any tips?

Anyone here know how to set up a separate profile for the GOG PC version? My GF wants to start a profile/save while I play as well. Just log a new GOG account on the same comp perhaps?

The 40 exp on each use is really worth it.

Just hang on to everything that is in the crafting tab. Make money by selling swords and pelts. Once you have decent saddlebags the weight of the crafting components becomes negligible and you'll feel pretty annoyed if you can't make some cool armor just becaus you sold reagents that were bothering you. I never even look at my ingredients tab, I just let the crafting menu tell me what I do and don't have.

ie; loot it all and let the menu sort it out!

Is there a town with an armorer AND a blacksmith? Tired of having to fast travel all over the place.

Novigrad. Armorer in the Heirarch Square, blacksmith just south of that in the fish market. Both journeymen I think, good enough to craft most stuff.

Fucks sake CDPR, give me NG+ already, Im waiting. I don't want to start on a whole new Geralt.

When u finish the game you cannot do the rest of the side quests? Will the game at least give u some clue before the end? I would like to finish all side quest because i will not have time to start everything from beginning.

You can still finish the side quests that aren't directly related to the main story AFTER you've completed the story itself.

Last night I finished the main story quests but I still have a ton of contracts and side quests to do

Some side quests fail after you reach a critical point in the game, but you'll be prompted before you proceed. Brothers in Arms failed for me after Isle of Mists.

So I just finished
Time and Space
, how many hours am I away from the finish line?

After 87 amazing hours, I think I'm finally ready to wrap up this outstanding experience.

Oh man, the whole part at (small spoiler of location)
Kaer Morhen
is amazing. They even managed to get Season of Storms reference in. The
drinking was utterly hilarious, Geralt's voice, playing Yennefer dress up, just so goood :D And of course right after that, a moving scene with trying to cure Uma..

tho I mostly agree there is one instance
with triss
that alters a mission somewhat. not huge but for me that alone was worth it. hahaa.

Just bought this for my PC as well. Gonna be doing some overnights coming up, and I wouldn't mind testing this out on my 670, plus it gives me the ability to support the devs more, and I can do another playthrough with different choices.

Last time I double dipped was GTA V. Game has me hooked deep, lol.

Man I wish the game would just give Gremist all the missing recipes for alchemy after you finish his quest. I tried to round out all my alchemy recipes but the game is weird. Enhanced Northern Wind I found almost at the end of the game despite having Northern Wind and Superior recipes through most of the game, and I finished the entire story but I'm still short 4 or 5 superior oil recipes somehow.

I mean ffs, Gremist has all the rune/glyph recipes to buy off him, makes no sense he can't have all the remaining alchemy recipes. It's cool you can find some from exploration but it makes wanting to do an alchemy build really disappointing cause you have to track so much of the stuff down just to get started.

Jesus, what were they thinking when they gave those Gargoyles that jump attack? That shit is worse than the Wraith's lolteleportattack.

On a side note: Does meditating near monsters cause them to despawn? Just meditated near a Ice elemental to refill my bombs and shit and when I was done, he wasn't there anymore.

I've just went back to
Kaer Morhen
with
Yen
and
Uma
have I been locked out of any quests? Or I'm I okay?

Just got the achievement for doing every Witcher contract. I still have 9 sidequests left, but I'm just going to finish Act 3 and come back to do those.

I'm going to upgrade to Mastercrafted Feline before I continue with the main quest though.
