Decoys are handy, but very situational. For the most part one is usually enough, if that. Getting as many Spies as you can in the first round is much more useful. Focus on a single row which you can power up with the leader card (thus not relying on chance) and once you get more leader cards replace the units from the other two rows with heroes. You're basically guaranteed to win.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, for that one opponent in particular you can certainly use more decoys. Get some from here

She has two/three and replays all my spies. ;_;

Lost again, thanks for the guide, will use it to buff a bit. Lost way too much time on this today.

Just switched to Death March at like level 15. Much more fun, things were starting to get easy. Had my ass kicked hard by a group of like 6 level 12 bandits.

The game has so many cool little touches but I think one of the most immersive little details is just something like being able to see in and outside of windows. Nothing is more amazing as going into a city like Novigrad at night and seeing all the windows in a building lit up and seeing blurry people moving around inside, then seemlessly going into the building and being able to just as easily see the world outside.

Super cool.

Ya...that seems like such a small thing but it really does add alot to the game for me as well.

So I get already to fight a level 31 Earth Elemental. Put the right oil on my sword and equipped the right bombs. I then go into face him and he falls off a cliff and disappears.

can't seem to find the location of the last set of the feline armor...anyone knows what merchants sells the map for the treasure hunting?

Ugh, tried getting back into Dragon age after finishing W3 instead of starting a new W3 game. Big mistake, had to quit after the first NPC i spoke to. The dialogue with him, seriously, went something like this:

Me: What do you think of...x
Him: bla bla bla bla
Me: What do you know about...y
Him: bla bla bla bla
Me: What do you think of...z
Him: bla bla bla bla
Me: Thank you, goodbye

Just tireless exposition with no emotion and no close-up camera. There is no way i can go back to that game after W3 despite enjoying the combat (not as much as Origins but still...).

Everything but the swords are in a cave directly south of the Trottheim marker in The Skellige Isles, the cave entrance is on the coastline. Look for the sailboat icon ... it's just west of it.

So I have a question about the way Magic works in this game.

I'm very keen on the Axii sign, mind controlling enemies to get them to fight for you is great.

However, there's a series of buffs to "intensity" that you get for all signs but also for Axii.

What does intensity actually mean here? Do stunned targets stay stunned for longer? Do mind controlled enemies do more damage?

Intensity means more of whatever the sign does.

Aard - higher knockdown chance
Igni - higher burn chance and more damage
Yrden - stays out longer and I think slows more
Quen - more damage absorption
Axii - longer duration

More damage on mind controlled enemies is a specific perk although on Death March you don't have to put more than the 1 point. They pretty much one shot each other.

Does this improve the stats on your runes equipped as well?

I finally have time to play TW3 :D I have a noob question. How can I add the markings and the glowing effect to my silver sword just like in this img?

I hoped I didn't mess up regarding the romance options. I am not sure these are spoilers or not but I will spoiler tag my question for those sensitive.

I am in Skeliege (spelling?) and have reunited with Yen. I romanced both Yen and Triss in the game. Is there a section later in the game where you have to choose?

Nah, just signs. You mean does having higher igni sign intensity increase burn chance on your weapon if you've got it, right?

as long as you don't say the l word to both you're good.

If anyone is wondering about the alternate quen skill GET IT. It's amazing. You can absorb health from the hits you take from the bubble that surrounds you. It means I can get rid of the skill that regenerates my health during the day. It's really incredible.

So for knockdown and burn chance, you only need 100% intensity?

Quen all day er'y day. It's so useful.

Like the poster above mentioned you can add runes either found/bought/crafted via the inventory into empty sockets that certain swords have.

I think it's more than that actually for 100% chance. Not sure about the number. 100% just means you're doubling whatever the default chance was.
Oh ok. On my signs build I was primarily using aard and igni and it was procing 100% with like 180% intensity. I was thinking about doing a light armor+signs build if all I needed was 100% intensity for those 2 procs.

Are you guys using both version of a spell of does it depend? I like having both the quen shield but also the bubble. I also need to have both axii spells equipped as well so I get the speech options plus the skill to control an enemies' mind.

Mmmmmm. Discovered another lighthouse.

Pretty much just wrapping up side quests now. I want to hit level 27 as soon as possible to use the superior bear armor :)

found a strange glitch where foglets appeared in a human settlement exactly (second act spoiler)

the one where there's the festival for the 3 chrones and you go there to kill that member of the wild hunt and the 3 witches

strangely no one there seemed to mind the monsters and i killed then without problems..but in another part of the same location i found 2 more and one of the merchants was on the ground dead

The most rageworthy glitch is when the skip conversation button stops working. Happened to me on PS4 today. Can't figure out any way to fix it other than restarting the game.

i like the concept of the bubble, but found myself rarely useing it because i always fear that it's gonna burst

That must have been annoying, yesterday my stamina decided to not refill and in the end I had to quit out back to menu and load it back up, that was ps4 too, also while I think about it the water hadn't looked right since the last patch, not a big deal but a bit weird.

Haha holy fuck, the Ekhinda decoction + Whirl skill is broken. You refill your entire health bar in half a second when you use Whirl, basically infinite health.

Playing on a difficulty where you can't regen health through meditation, I find I rarely use potions/food...just use quen bubble to refill health.

what do I do if there is no key to free someone in a cage at a bandit camp...he happens to be a merchant that has gwent cards

Edit: hmmm, seems this one is glitched. Only solution is to start a new game, do a bunch of steps involving saves, get key, follow the merchant back to town to make sure he gets there...im not doing all that. I will hope for a patch

So I did everything and now I am in Velen. I seem to be under-leveled for mostly everything , any tips to help me level a little but not become too powerful? Seems like I need way better gear as well I barely do any damage.

Is it possible to reach the good ending if we killed people in side quests (for example, by killing
Jonna in the Nithing quest
) ?

Isn't Geralt supposed to have infinite sprint?

Maybe i encountered yet another glitch... but now when I sprint (on foot) it starts to drain my sign/mana/whatever bar after a few seconds... I swear it was NOT doing that earlier.

Anyone know what causes that? I'm carrying about half weight capacity, don't think it's that...

I was thinking of firing up the game just to see how stark the differences are. But your post just reminded me that I don't need to subject myself to that.

It is funny, because a year or two ago I would have had a hard time believing that The Witcher 3 would have ended up to be a much more solid and strong example of not only writing, but voice acting and narration than the next Dragon Age.

Granted, that'd be on me, since I'm sure others will point out that Bioware's writing and characters have been utter crap lately, so I'd have been a fool for assuming that to begin with. But I would counter that I'd have never expected the gulf between the two to just be so wide, I'm talking oceans apart here. Witcher 3 has definitely set that gold standard that future games had better strive for.

You really can't have it both ways unfortunately. Story quests give you a ton of xp and are very easy early on, so you'll end up over powered regardless. With that said, you can try exploring some of the question marks. You'll likely find solid equipment pretty quickly that will level the playing field without increasing your actual level.
