What's the moral dilemma on the
Werewolf
quest?
I just fed him his own meat and killed the guys on the docks. None of them were exactly good guys, no?
You're right, moral dilemma is the wrong phrase since they're obviously all assholes, but there is branching and what you did is not the only outcome. You played the (slightly) shorter version of the quest.

I ended up
killing the herbalist without a second thought. Telling the guy to leave his wife and child wouldn't have just ruined his life, it would have ruined theirs. He mentions how they would be shamed by the village if he leaves them. Plus, she deliberately cursed that boy and was happy with letting him die slowly if she couldn't have her way... so fuck her.
My conclusion was
that these people are all dicks and deserve each other so I opted to not really care and went for the choice that benefitted me (which is leaving a merchant alive for future business).

I heard some of the Soldiers
in Roche's camp
talking about shaved cunnies or some such and had a bit of chuckle but what these kids are talking about is even funnier.

After finishing the game its all of these tiny, almost hidden, details I just love.

Yeah,
I did have the option to turn him back to a human but considering what he did, meh, fuck him. Don't want his probably shitty treasures as well.

So, It Takes Three to Tango, that's it?
The old tied to the bed trick? Pretty light punishment considering what he did and the context. Should've teleport him buck naked in the middle of the town or in a cave with drowners at least. Come on, girls. You're sorcerresseesss :D

Kids say the darndest things:

- Hey, Jackie... you're the oldest, so tell us. Just what's a whore do, exactly?

- Well... My dad told me they do the things mum won't.

- Hmm... my mum hates to do the laundry. So's that what all those gentlemen do at the Passiflora - get their laundry done?

- Guess so. Looked in the window once, they was all prancin' round in their knickers...

- So why's my dad say the Passiflora's the best 'cause it's got the dirtiest whores?

- Golly... adult 're strange.

Yeah, I heard this in Novigrad as well. Hilarious.

I got it yesterday and it's the best PS4 game I own. Shits all over Bloodborne which was the last best PS4 game I owned. Only issue is sometimes there's a bit of frame stutter in cutscenes and sound can be a bit iffy with headphones but it's rare that I run into any problems.

Worth a purchase to me anyway.

Still in White Orchard I guess?Velen is where the stuttering begin.

Of course they're working on the next patch, but there's not much to say as there's nothing too broken any more. The mutagen thing will most definitely be fixed, and the Novigrad pop-in on consoles and the glitched quests and quest-givers will most probably be fixed too. Obviously not happening this week though.

Am I the only one complaining of framerate issues in Velen? Its the most unstable game on PS4 I own.

I'm in Velen right now and it's still absolutely fine for me, only stuttering issues are in cutscenes so far like I said. My main issue is the sound jerking around when I have my earphones in :/

EDIT: Honestly for me I get worse frames in Bloodborne.

Am I doing something wrong? Why is this game so hard? I feel like I'm always scrapping by for health and I die often in combat.

I am at the point where
I'm looking for the girl with Keira Metz and we just made it past some golem and now we fight some gargoyle.

Some quests are so unbalanced, especially if you go by the suggested level...The wraith(Jenny in the Woods) quest level 10....? yeah right, and the magical trap is such a useless skill for wraiths...skipping this one.

And the pop-ups are worst now since the patch on the PS4 for me...in the Baron village(Perch),all the townsfolk are litterally appearing like 2 feet in front of me...

I also hate that all those free DLC are all over the place and I have to go on the net to find out where or who they are and that you have to pay for them with in game currency lol.

Besides that, level 11 now, loving the game, and I think I will take a break from the sidequest and head to Novigrad do the Pyre quest, now that it's supposedly fixed.

How is it useless? You make much more damage with it. But yea Jenny of the Woods is a tough enemy at first. But once you've figured it out its not so bad. Make Yrden sign, position yourself on one end, let her approach from the other. Hit her 1-2 times when she enters then gtfo. Rinse and repeat. The key is not to get greedy with attacks or she will get you.

Goddamn Sasha is unbeatable in the Gwent tournament. She just snatched victory out of jaws of defeat by getting a draw. <Proceeds to reload 10th time>

It says its a trap...isnt it suppose to keep the Wraith in there ?...why is it coming out of it like its not layed down at all, unless I am not understanding how it works...

Anyone here beat Witcher 3 and going back to previous games?

That's what I'm doing. I want to know more about the characters and the world. They're quite well-written.

Not beat 3 or close to but I've bought the first 2 games and all the available english books.

I found myself completely unprepared for that quest. Didn't have enough repair kits, food, etc. it was a tough slog, def one of the harder missions I've yet to play.

Yrden slows enemies inside of it (the amount of slowdown depends on your sign intensity) but does not trap them within its bounds. . For wraiths it makes them corporeal which provides a dramatic damage boost inside to them.

I lost to the first guy, steamrolled Sasha and the elf.

Pretty baffled when I lost because I was untouchable before.

Spies are life.

Here's the thing with spies, even though there may be the urge to medic and decoy them keeping them in play. If you have a good hand you're better off hanging on to them or letting them sit in your discard pile. Nilfgaard deck has the most medics and spies of any deck. You can't win that back and forth unless you're using one too.

I was actually able to defeat everyone except the host in one try, and the host on my 2nd. My NR deck is ace. The funny thing is I did the GWENT part of the quest at level 9, so everyone had Geralt and Ciri except me ):

Boom! Bitch-slapped!

Yrden and specter oil will deal a lot more damage, but it won't slow it down. I was confused too at first because Yrden will slow down Glolems significantly, so I assumed that is what it did to all enemies vulnerable to that sign.

In the case of wraiths, Yrden it more to materialise them. I definitely needed Specter Oil for that fight. Yrden, two hits and back away. When the health regenerating wraiths appeared, I just ran away till they dissipated.

Is it possible to reach the good ending if we
killed people in side quests ?

The first section "White Orchard" runs pretty well, but once you advance to other locations you will run into frame rate issues at certain locations, e.g. where's the fog/mist, heavy rain.

Which is only in Novigrad during heavy rain and nighttime and the Swamp area which is only about 5% of the entire world. The other 95% of the game runs absolutely fine and nothing to skip the game over.

Finished. Man, what a amazing game. The ending sequences was amazing despite it running at 15fps during the whole thing on my PS4. My only complaint about this game is the FPS in general, other than that... perfection.

Well, consider this: after you beat her, you won GWENT. You will be unbeatable for the rest of the game if you manage to taker her down.

So the last guy is easier ? Or you never get to play him ?

She just won another ... Goddamn you Villentretenmerth. And goddamn you spies and medics.

Teach me your ways Master.

By the time I run out of cards she still has 5 left. And the cheeky bastard doesn't even bother to overtake me in points, she just draws.

Ugh seriously I've fucking had it with this goddamn merchant at the crematory who buys everything full price. Between waiting for him to be alone in the room and the fact that he has no goddamn money, it's not even worth all the trouble for a few extra gold. Way too much of a pain in the ass to deal with...

Brandon F

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
If you are going to play 2 I'd suggest siding with
Iorveth
since you'll get to spend time with the MVP sorceress, kind of.

Definitely. Lore junkies should absolutely pick that choice in W2 to get a larger glimpse into the lodge of sorceress and other notable characters you bump into in W3.

Oof, just finished the main story and I think I'm done for the time being. 110 hours in total and I loved every minute of it, great game and definitely leaps above TW2 as far as I'm concerned (haven't played the 1st one). Great and diverse environments, more fun/flexible combat than its predecessor, choice and consequence, great soundtrack, even greater overall atmosphere, and lots more.

This definitely has set the bar for open-world RPGs in general and I'm very, very excited to see Bethesda's response with Elder Scrolls 6. Skyrim was absolutely great, one of my favourites last generation, but the seamless transition from outdoors to indoors should be a priority for TES6, because I don't think I can ever return to a game where every house, cave or dungeon gets a loading screen...

What? The yellow skills are not passive?!

I am an idiot. I actually have three points put into them but I hadn't verified whether I was getting the benefits.

I'm still in Velen. Tamed the urge to move the story forward. I get so into it when I play, walk or ride when I could fast travel, lots of sight seeing and just admiring the environment. Get this warm fuzzy feeling of knowing I still have so much to go through. I could be just a great match with the lore & the game or I'm certifiably insane.

If I were tasked to name 3 biggest flaws, it would be Roach control and fall damage, can't think of a 3rd one right now.

I'm using hunter's config, recommend it. It allowed me to boost draw distance and eliminate pop in exchange for ~4-5 fps less on average though I have yet to visit the big cities. Loving every minute. Angry Joe's review resonates many of my observations.

Hopefully they fix that bug (PS4) where your sign intensity isn't getting the full benefits of your mutagen bonus on reloading (whether manually or from death).

Is this also happening on other platforms as well?

Spys, Medics, Decoys(to steal their spys or replay your medics), commander horns and clear weathers. I don't bother with actual weather cards anymore. Late level GWENT is all about having more cards than your opponent.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Death March is a pushover. Kinda upsetting after beating Dark in W2.

Dark mode was way easier in W2. Feel like death march plateaus and declines in challenge much deeper into the game than dark ever did(which pretty much got stupid easy after the tutorial).

i hate this combat sometimes. Lvl 12 Geralt drops down a trapdoor, turns around to loot a container, and is immediately stunlocked by a level 10 drowner more aggresive than normal for some reason and dies from full health.

if you're prepared it's great, if you're surprised you can lose all your health in a second. Life of a Witcher I suppose

Yeah but I'd rather have a sturdy and shiny set of Gwent cards, with a Gwent board with proper faction rows and papers to keep score on.

Get them printed professionally... and make the board yourself. Should be a cool project. Also, i bet some online website would feature the work. :D

The game has so many cool little touches but I think one of the most immersive little details is just something like being able to see in and outside of windows. Nothing is more amazing as going into a city like Novigrad at night and seeing all the windows in a building lit up and seeing blurry people moving around inside, then seemlessly going into the building and being able to just as easily see the world outside.

Super cool.

Problem is I've only got one decoy. ;_;

Decoys are handy, but very situational. For the most part one is usually enough, if that. Getting as many Spies as you can in the first round is much more useful. Focus on a single row which you can power up with the leader card (thus not relying on chance) and once you get more leader cards replace the units from the other two rows with heroes. You're basically guaranteed to win.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, for that one opponent in particular you can certainly use more decoys. Get some from here
