Is it possible for merchants to sell formulas and schematics that I already own ? And if so, will the game display a "new formula/schematic added" message after exiting the transaction menu ? I'm wondering if I am wasting money by buying so many of these from merchants all the time.

If you're doing all the quests and stuff, you're gonna be OP, there's no way around it. You could put off the contracts until they become greyed out as they give way more exp than sidequests, but in the long run it's not going to matter much.

You're misremembering, it always did that and it was even that way in W2.

Yes, things ARE broken. The playtime counter for one. Previously you could avoid it going inaccurate by being a bit careful, but now there's absolutely nothing you can do to keep it from resetting to zero. At least that's the case for me. And while that might seem like a tiny issue, I just can't stand shit plain not working, so I'm not playing the game any more until they fix this. If they just don't I guess I'm never finishing this game. Which would be extremely disappointing, because I've been loving it while it still worked correctly.

Well... if that's true this game will go from being my GOTY (which I strongly felt it would be during the first 20-25 hours) to my biggest disappointment of the year. It's simply unacceptable if they're just gonna leave it in its current state.

It's like... I love the game, but at the moment I just feel like I want my money back. The issues are utterly destroying what should be a wonderful experience for me.

So the PS4 version is fairly borked atm? That's a shame. I doubt CDPR will leave it in that state though considering it's the best selling platform IIRC.

A week or so ago they mentioned they are looking into the PS4 performance issues. It has been said. Not worth to spend more time lingering on their own forum full of kids who constantly call CDPR unprofessionals and such.

Just beat it after spending around 60 hours with it. It is easily the best game I have ever played and now sits at the #1 spot for best game ever. Planning to take a break since I've done nothing but play it in all my free time and then do a Death March profile for a better ending.

Lol. Hell no. It is totally playable. You have that framerate issue in the swamps during fogged sequences which, mind you, only takes place in about 5% of the entire game and some minor slowdown in Novigrad during the nighttime.

There is absolutely nothing that says unplayable. Comments like his totally scare people away because he is overreacting.

PS4 is totally playable. Another patch or two still are needed to bring it up to as perfect as possible though (20 FPS drops in a few areas, and some texture streaming/pop ins)

So, I've been thinking, is Witcher 3 considered a WRPG?

It seems very European, so is it not an ERPG? Is that even a thing?

With GG's new RPG, it'd be cool if we had ERPGs, that were distinct in their own way

WRPG's are considered to be RPG's that have been created everywhere but Japan. That is where the term sorta came from. So no, The Witcher 3 is a very much your WRPG.

When I went to Skellige for the first time, I had a beard but it wasn't fully grown in. When I arrived, my beard was fully grown. Yen commented on it during a mission and then we had sex on a unicorn.

Best game.

Speaking of which, how many others are playing using a different voice pack? Decided I wanted to play it in Polish, and loving the European sound that complements the world and design. Was difficult during the beginning with the tutorial and everyone talking but that settled and thankfully NPCs have dialog above their heads.

You're saying you won't play the game because of a broken in-game counter? Okay? Sure. But even if they fix it, I seriously doubt they manage to correct it for those who have already started a file.

What do you think the W in WRPG stands for? America? "Western" refers to the western society, which is North America, Europe and, although geographically in the far east, Australia. The Witcher 3 is as much of an WRPG as any other game made in the west.

Bet you did everything except main quest, so tackle those and watch Geralt gain few levels there.

New patch incoming monday.

Right after the weekend we are planning to release a hotfix for PC (1.06). It will address the most reported issues by the community.
You can find the list of changes below. Of course the console version will follow shortly after (will be numbered 1.05) and will include some additional changes such as the save game issues fix and the money cap.

Fixes the endless loading screen when fighting the Ice Giant during the quest 'Lord of Undvik'
Geralt's clothes will no longer be wet after leaving the menu
The gate in the crypt now works correctly during the quest 'Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear'
Fixes the lack of interaction with Roche on Oxenfurt Bridge in the quest 'Get Junior'
Fixes an issue that prevented players from creating more than one item via Crafting/Alchemy

We will let you know once more details become available.

I don't even see it as an RPG and def not a WRPG, reminds me more of AssCreed type but better, bigger and with RPG elements

So can you never upgrade your beginning witcher chest armor beyond Enhanced? I remember seeing some artwork that indicated you could but I only ever ran across Griffon, Cat and Bear that allowed the full 4 stages of upgrading.

Wish they further expanded the Viper and Wolf gear.

Then have fun never finishing it because of a playtime counter, because when they do fix it it's not going to reset it back to your actual time played anyway.

It should be and probably is one of the lowest priority fixes.

I'm surprised to see how fast people finish the game. I'm at 150 hours in and I think roughly about more than halfway through the mainstory. There's so much stuff to do in the game and I really don't wanna rush through the main story when theres so much excellent side missions and what not. Don't even want to finish the game, don't want it to end.

Btw, anyone else hate how the Character profiles spoil things that didn't end? I usually read about the characters when there is an update about them and several times things that didn't even happen yet is listed there. I guess it's a bug but it's kinda annoying reading about a certain conclusion before I've seen it.

Just finished the game, took me 90hrs, only a couple of contracts and treasure hunts left, totally worth the wait, still kinda sad that it ended after all these years.

I had a full beard when I went to Skellige. When Yen told me to get some decent clothes, I figured I might as well get a shave too since there was a barber in town.

During the wake she commented that she liked that I had let my beard grow. In other words she says the same thing whether you're clean shaven or have a full beard.

Disappointing.

Ya...that was a bit annoying and confusing sometimes. After White Orchard I didn't really read any of the Character Bios or quest details.

Ok, are there some enemies who are immune to mind control because I keep using it on some soldiers but they will absolutely NOT attack each other. The eyes turn white but they sometimes keep attacking me.

So sick of these fucking stupid glitches.

It feels like they beat the behind the scenes roll check. Usually trying again, when there is an enemy closer to them made it work.

That damage bonus is no joke. What could take me 7 hits to kill the commander/boss in the group, his lacky can do it 2 or 3.

Axii is so fucking good
