After like 50 hours of rocking bears, cats and griffins, it's cool to not wear witcher gear for a while. Hitting Skellige POIs at level 30 actually gives you quite a selection since apparently all of that loot scales. This is Oathbreaker armor with the swords Bloodmoon and Caroline. So much cooler than "Mastercrafted Cat" or whatever.

Yeah, one of the few negatives i have of this game is how it shoe-horns you to one of the three armor sets. Would love more variety in this regard.

It's gotta be so much less exciting to play this without reading the books. I read the books and after the High Stakes Gwent quest
I was just like OH MY GOD IT'S CANTARELLA!!!

It was a small cameo in a small quest, but I've liked the references like that strewn throughout.

I just loved that the tournament was an actual real, meaty quest and not just a series of gwent battles with almost no connecting tissue.

Bleh, thanks to the Coronation secondary mission I got the music bug, playing it without the music sucks so I'll be waiting for them to fix it... =/

Happened to me. I went back and reloaded an old save, losing a couple hours of progress. Had to replay all of King's Gambit again too.

Finished the Novigrad main quest earlier. I liked a lot of stuff from it but the pacing felt a bit weird in places. Felt like it was longer than it should have been. A lot of the branching side quest got me more invested than the
find dandelion plot line
tbh. And can someone explain to me what happened at the end?
I spent all this time finding Dudu so he can transform into the witch hunter guy, but when I got to where dandelion was hold up I saw no Dudu come into play. The whole cutscene felt weird to me and it feels like I missed something important here.

Dudu disguises himself as Merenge(sp) and orders Dandelion transferred to Oxenfurt which is where Geralt, Zoltan, and co intercept him.

Do shopkeepers get more gold over time? I need to sell some stuff but the guy doesn't have any coin left.

i think its a static amount, but they do replenish their gold after a few days. e.g the alchemist outside novigrad who buys monster trophies at full price gets a couple of hundred gold every few days

mediate for a few days and they should have more gold

I really need to make the effort and get back into this game. I got to Skellige and my interest just nosedived. I know if I leave it too long I will never come back.

Today, Witcher 3 has overtaken Skyrim as my longest played game on Steam:

I still haven't finished it. I am about to find a
Sun Stone with Philippa.

Make sure you clear out your inventory before doing that quest, you get a shit ton of chests/items in it. I cashed out like 4 NPCs selling all the stuff from it

Push yourself a little, I sometimes get a little open world fatigue when I hit new areas in games like this and have to actively force myself to reinvest.

It's worth it here, Skellige is a beautiful continent to explore and the quests are very good.

Hah, thanks for advice but I have long since stopped looting everything and selling :)

Had like 30K at one point, wasted it all on glyphs and what not, now I have 8K, mastercrafted two Witcher sets and I feel like I don't need anything else...

though I still have 40 pounds free in my inventory anyway :)

Ditto. There's been a couple days where I didn't feel like playing much or felt overwhelmed, but dove in anyways and end up spending like 8 hours with game. It hooks you in every time.

Yeah I really didn't end up using anything from there, but man is it crazy how many chests there are in the quest. At one point they just give you like 4 side by side to loot.

I finished the game as a fat and happy witcher with 50k in my pocket

Ending spoiler
I got the empress Ciri ending. I shouldn't have taken her to the Emperor, but I didn't want to deprive her of the choice to see her father and hear him out. Hmm.. that Witcher ending seems the most happy though.

I got that ending as well. I haven't looked at the other ones, but I feel like the one we got fits the game perfectly in terms of theme and plot and everything leading up to it, although it is a tad sad.

So I got another bugged quest.
Even tho I have completed the Cave of Dreams (it's in my completed tab). As soon as I do Kings Gambit it changes Cave of Dreams to failed.
Any one else had this?

Didn't happen to me but I don't think it will affect anything anyway.

Same with me,
I've read somewhere that you had to have went to the Jarl to collect your reward before the Kings Gambit to have it not fail. Otherwise when Lugo Jr.(?) dies it retroactively fails.

61 hours in and I've just finished Novigrad's main story and a good amount of secondary quests. Still a lot to do. I think I could easily get another 10-15 hours before I go to Skellige. I really wasn't prepared for how much is in this game. To think I actually hesitated about paying £50 for it. It's been worth every single penny so far and I don't think I'm even half way through it.

I know the feeling. 23 hours in and I just finished up the major plotlines in Velen. Now I'm tackling the overwhelming amount of quests and ?s across the land before I hit Novigrad.

This game is just bloody massive.

So after getting the bad ending i decided to start a new game, this time on death march. Got my ass kicked 2 times already in the very first fight. I try to dodge to seperate the enemies from each, but as soon as i hit one i get attacked by two enemies from behind. Already lost my motivation again. I guess i'll just reload an old save where i'm on level 15, so i still get to see a good ending, and don't care for the platinum anymore.

After finish the game, i have to say: The Witcher 3 with flaws and stuff, is the most satisfying RPG i ever played in years (since Dragon Age: Origins). The gameplay is great (in comparison to another RPG), the sidequests put a new standard in the industry; the 1/4 of them has a better story than another AAA games, and the soundtrack... excellent

Timer is completely bugged unfortunately, just ignore it.

And yes the exp bug is fixed, just know you're not supposed to always get exp at the end of quests, and sometimes you don't get it from small intermediary quests. They basically give it to you when it makes sense, like after defeating a main enemy or finishing a goal story-wise.

Thank you very much for the answer mate, appreciated.

Hooked on this game but the leveling push/pull is weird.

Still in Velen and level 11. Finished the Baron quest line and checked out most of the POI.

Now I am over leveled for most Velen remaining quests.

And doing more and more side quests will bump me up over the for main quest line (currently suggested level 10).

Thoughts?

I wish I was more into Gwent. I like the game itself, but the card building aspect isn't my favorite. I think it'd like it better if the card pool was the same for everyone, so you had to find a strategy that works, rather than having to build a powerful enough deck to even stand a chance, and then also figuring out the best way to win.

Zoltan even said my deck sucked when I beat him (dunno how that is scripted), but I can't get the unique card he suggested I obtain, because it is linked to a quest I'm not doing on this character.

I am glad I dont have too much time to play. The game will last longer. I play LONG sessions 2-3 times a week. I am doing everything the game has to offer.

CDPR were right when they said the game will last 2 months for people who cant play daily. This is the first SP only game that is taking me so long to finish. I am very happy about that.

I might even stop playing before ending the game to complete the novels (I am on Baptism of Fire atm) first.

I wonder if CDPR will show something season pass related next week.

Probably not, they've already said that the pass just gets you access to the two upcoming expansions, which are said to be ~30 hours worth of content. If CDPR's past is much to go off they usually don't do much previewing of DLC and added content, just some screens and a little write up. Considering that it's not stand alone DLC they aren't really trying to win a new audience.

I just found Philippa and in order to convince Dijkstra I had to tell him information about Nilfgaard.

So I told him that Emhyr wanted to give the throne to Ciri... but WTF ? I didn't know that ?

I didn't go see the emperor before Balf Mountain, I shouldn't know that. I'm absolutely confused ...

Damn ... feels like the quality of the writing really went down after
the battle of Kaer Mohren

The game suffers from the CDPR syndrome. Rushed last act.

Didn't
Yen tell you that? I'm not sure actually.

Nope. I didn't know beforehand...
I'm pretty sure
you can ask Emhyr why he wants to find Ciri at the end of the prologue (and he answers something like "for the interest of the realm, like always"). I definitely knew that and I didn't visit Emhyr before Bald Mountain.
Um, I could be wrong, but didn't Emhyr himself hint at that when he
forced you and Yennefer to come back to Vizima for an update after picking up Uma
?
You are probably right

How do I get this quest? I did the light house quest and there was no quest that followed it.
Jorund is still alive too.
Obviously it isn't available post-game but is it available before the
Isle of the Mists
?

I done this way before that quest.
My last story quest was going to the wake with Yennefer.

Err, guys, anyone else noticed that Geralt's crossbow deals a lot more damage when his sword is sheathed?

Against same enemy, a bandit, my damage jumped from 75 to 194

Edit: against a bear, went from 34 to 87. Hmm...

Only ever use it to take down stuff that fly, by double tapping R1 for the quickshot really anyway

Yeah it's either glitch or a weird design decision. Crossbow sucks anyways, but unfortunately this applies to bombs as well which do way more damage when your sword is unsheathed.

Thinking about finally grabbing this to kill time before Batman. PS4 or XB1?

You'll have enough time to finish up the tutorial. In case you haven't heard, there's enough content in this game to easily fill 100 hours, and perhaps even up to 200.
Critical pathing the main story is 50 - 60 hour endeavor, not something I would consider stop-gap game.

If I get into a game, there's no stopping this train.
