How far am I? Just finished drinking with my fellow Witchers, and am now setting off again? I don't want the game to end.

You are nearing the end. Probably the final 1/4 in terms of playtime.

Is that really the correct choice or is that your opinion?

In the books, which take place before the games, Geralt and Yennefer are together. I believe Geralt and Triss started being together in The Witcher 1 and 2 because of Geralt's amnesia. So, I guess Yennefer would be the author's choice but I honestly can't stand her. I recommend doing the main story in Skellige until you complete a quest in
Hindarsfjall
called Nameless.

Anyone else having trouble progressing the "Of Swords and Dumplings" quest?
The part where you have to meet Hattori's supplier in the docks. Hattori just walks away and nothing happens?

Change the time of day and try again. NPCs have a schedule they follow, so you may have gone to him when he was scheduled to go somewhere. I had that happen to on my first playthrough with that quest.

Anybody ever figure out the orthography the world of this game and Witcher 2 seem to use? Did CDPR make it up or is it based on an actual script?

Beat the game. I'm actually still hesitant to look at spoilers for ruining future playthroughs, already caught a couple I wish I hadn't read. Not going into the spoiler thread, but posting quick thoughts here.

Ending spoilers:
I liked it, except for
Ciri saving the world(s) by fulfilling the prophecy extremely abruptly. Felt rushed, and unfulfiling considering we don't know what she did. It's not even mentioned after the fact, it almost felt like it was just to drive home "Witchers don't save worlds, silly", and we didn't need that imo

Now to go back and do some more exploring, hopefully find any side quests I missed as my entire log is cleared out.

Well considering that the original script is in Polish, they probably made it up. Also it isn't something really far out. Most of it is using already established dialects and variants that exist in the real world.

Ok. To me it looks mostly based on the Nuskhuri Georgian script.

Three quick questions having beaten the game:

1. Is there a full list of side quests somewhere online?

2. I guess I missed the HLAKBAR thing, was it a quest I missed or just because I chose something different?

3. Where was this beauty:

Spoilers for missions after Skellige
I'm rounding up people to come help fight the Wild Hunt, and Djikstra didn't come because he didn't find his money. I don't recall failing a quest to help him, so how could I have gotten him to come?

You have to specifically ask Caleb Menge about the treasure while Triss is being tortured. If Caleb didn't give you the location Djikstra will not get his treasure. I didn't let Triss get tortured though, so I just massacred all of the witch hunters bastards.

Anyway you don't need Djikstra to get the achievements for that particular mission though. I still got it without his help.

It's in the Triss's sex scene.

Ah ok, I did what you did as well. Thanks for the info.

Tried going back to the first two games and despite the gameplay complaints I have of Wild Hunt its a tremendous improvement, generational leap even so instead I went and bought the books.

Part ways into Sword of Destiny and Villentretenmerth is a fucking boss and I read that zeugl story that Geralt always seems to have at the tip of his tongue.

Bleh, thanks to the Coronation secondary mission I got the music bug, playing it without the music sucks so I'll be waiting for them to fix it... =/

Ajkall questioj for those that have beaten the game

Was there an option where he lived and Ciri gets to greet him one last time? I don't even remember who he was lol

He's the guy that have the unfortunate luck to found Ciri when she drops out of nowhere into the sea in Skellige. At least he gets a kiss from Ciri in my playthrough, the poor guy.

I am going to say something that has been said a thousand times already... but I will say it again because it needs to be said by everyone who experiences it the first time....

OMG SKELLIGE ISLES...F'n Amazing!!! Went there the first time yesterday after around 90 hours in Velen/Orchard.... I love this place. Played 12 hours nonstop at Skellige.

Because you're only talking to Nilfgaardian shopkeepers?
:lol

I have noticed a lot of recurring faces, or face types (you know the ones: the Nilfgaardian merchant face, the babyface face, the pellar face, the peasant village elder face etc). I know there are a ton of NPCs as is and the quality of the NPC faces is basically unmatched, but it's still something that can be improved in the future.

I did like that many of the Skellige warriors have a different body type than the soldiers on the continent.

Finished the Novigrad main quest earlier. I liked a lot of stuff from it but the pacing felt a bit weird in places. Felt like it was longer than it should have been. A lot of the branching side quest got me more invested than the
find dandelion plot line
tbh. And can someone explain to me what happened at the end?
I spent all this time finding Dudu so he can transform into the witch hunter guy, but when I got to where dandelion was hold up I saw no Dudu come into play. The whole cutscene felt weird to me and it feels like I missed something important here.

Stranger in a Strange Land spoilers

I don't remember this story AT ALL. I'm on my second playthrough and didn't do the connected witcher contract until way later my first timethrough. Now I have to work for Madman Lugos and Jorund is dead, This is so weird.

So I
told Yennifer I didn't love her so I missed out on extra naughty times :( loving the game now. I'm focusing on the main missions only now as I want to complete the main story.

How do I get this quest? I did the light house quest and there was no quest that followed it.
Jorund is still alive too.
Obviously it isn't available post-game but is it available before the
Isle of the Mists
?

This is one long ass game. How much more main quest do you have once you get to skellige? The amount of quests you just get thrown at you can get a bit overwhelming

you still have a lot of game to go. Skellige is like its own massive area.

How can I enjoy this game more? At the moment it's really not clicking for me. I''m getting my ass kicked at normal difficulty, the combat is frustrating me, and all I want to do is explore the huge beautiful world, which I feel I'm being punished for doing.

What exactly is frustrating you in terms of combat? The way how the controls are handled or do you simply not know what each sign is for, and which enemy is vulnerable to certain techniques?

Sigh, have done
all 26 witcher contracts and I didn't get the Geralt the Professional achievement.
Playing on PC.

Nevermind, missed one.

Is it just the combat putting you off? How far are you in the game? I'm playing at the lowest difficulty and I found the starting area a bit challenging. If you ignore what each enemy is weak against then you're gonna have a hard time. For example you need to use oil against the
wraith at the well
and you definitely need to use Yrden/Igni/oil against
Jenny O' the Woods
.

Once you arrive in Velen then it gets a lot easier. Sometimes I check up what enemies are weak against but you become so strong that you can just go in and kick it's ass pretty much anyway you want.

I'd say once you get over that and if you don't dive right into the story then you can spend hours and hours just exploring the world and doing things at your leisure.

I can't be the only one having problems seeing the difference between the POI you have discovered, greyed, and not discovered, white, right?

Damn
Sven
is a dick.

Just found a sword diagram for level 46

Tir Tochair Blade
Slashing damage: 405
Critical hit bonus: +50%
Critical hit chance: +5%
Chance of causing bleeding: +15%

Also just maxed out the Crippling Strike perk. Enemies lose 125 vitality per second for 5 seconds.

I have a lvl 47 sword diagram I think. No idea how to get past level 36. I feel I've done everything and I cleared ALL question marks and found even more hidden stuff doing so. Even killed a lvl 48 griffon.

Just an update for people that want more challenge and fully balanced gameplay: Hardcore mod at Nexus is improving daily and takes all user feedback:

Challenge? No doubt. But balance? Not even close. Balance isn't achieved by making everything just suck. I'll give it one thing, it's definitely hardcore. It's going to need a hell of a lot of work to be anything more than a fun little diversion.

Man, I am 200hrs in the game.
Did 100% of all side quests, and only have like 30 markers left.
They weren't kidding about the hours.
Simply amazing in term of gameplay value.
