So uh...
I'm at the green treetops area, where you have to solve lot of puzzles with the star symbols (mostly about keep two stars in one area" type.

However, now I encountered a black star with the usual white/black squares. First time the puzzle solved itself when I put the black star in the same area as white squares, but on the next puzzle same tactic simply didn't work. Now there is just... nothing. I have no idea how to proceed, which is frustrating as I think I'm pretty close to acing this area.

Picture of both puzzles mentioned:

So yeah, when I try to complete the above one like I did the below, the puzzle does not become completed... It's frustrating to not even know the rules here.

What do I do to activate the puzzles in the desert area? So far all I'm seeing are
two red screens with spiderweb patters, but no way to solve them.

Are the temple mechanics explained there or do I have to go someplace else?

I'm totally lost. Every puzzle seems foreign to me past that area.

Yep my wife helped me with a few puzzles this morning. It helps to have different perspective. Probably will have to explain the puzzle "rules" if she is not there the whole time though.

Awesome! Thx for the posts everyone.

My wife's currently playing "brain games" on her tablet with very similar puzzle path modes, so i'm hoping she might find this interesting as well.

That one was easy. It's the puzzle right after that I still cannot figure out. I actually solved it by guessing but I have absolutely NO idea why it's that particular solution. It is driving me NUTS.

How on earth do you solve the second to last transparent water puzzle?!?

Symmetry section?
If so, I'm pretty sure 4th is clouds.

It's one of the areas where the sun shines the brightest. Look for reflections.

Dumb question...how do you know how many puzzles have been solved?

Stars need to be on sections with 2 of the same color. Got stuck there for a long while too, but basically the 4 black squares don't all go together

The Desert Temple or the one near the Town? For the one near the town (with the garden-like puzzles) you need to open up a window first.

Stuck on the desert temple!

I have no clue how to solve the red panels at the entrance with the orange lines. They're like a hexagon shape with stars in the middle. It seems like it's obvious but I've looked around everywhere to no avail! Hints please?
This one stumped me.
Sun and reflections are the hint

The desert: I'm stuck in
cave/tunnel under the desert temple where you can raise and lower the water level to look at the reflection. I couldn't figure out the last puzzle panel that opens the gate.

Uhhhhhh I think I just discovered something I wasn't supposed to. Potentially big spoilers? Maybe it's nothing but best to be safe.

While looking around the town area, I somehow activated the windmill by clicking in the centre. Now it's like I'm shooting lasers at it. Is this just a neat Easter Egg or should I stop and save this for later? I'm noticing I can move the cursor around the windmill.

The large zig zag rectangle panel? you need just need to stand near the middle to get a rough pattern for it.

I am in the same area. Any hint would be nice.

The big panel also has reflections on the surface but it is only noticeable when lowering and rising the water. It is between the rise and fall where you'll notice it.

How you do the last section
3 red panels, two shadow panels and glass panel???

I don't recommend clicking this unless you've explored a lot of books and crannies, don't want to ruin anything for anyone.

But I was just clicking about when
I click on the middle of the windmill... WOAH! Don't know what happened, but I moved the line down the orange panels, saw an area where the sparkles started glowing white and I hit X. The game made a loud noise but I have no idea what happened. It says +1 on my save now also. Does that mean I completed a secret puzzle?

welcome to The Witness, my friend.

You've made your first small step into a wider world. Congratulations. Now run with that idea.

Spoiler-free progress after a few hours on the PC version:

Number of puzzles in my sketched notes: 5.

I'm coming across a lot of puzzle concepts I haven't been "introduced" to yet so I have to keep leaving them. :(

Thanks, I understood it now, maybe...
Still stupid the rules somewhat changed on the fly there, so far it was always two stars, now it was one star and one sqaure...

This game is awesome. Though I am feeling a tinge of motion sickness. I don't know if it's the slow turning or lack of head bob or what. Otherwise, love it. It's a surprisingly great feeling getting purely stuck at a puzzle and saying "fuck it" and wandering around to find another.

Not sure if this is a spoiler or not but I do I know if something is a puzzle or not?

It is sort of a spoiler

Anything you can "draw" on that reacts to you drawing on it is a potential puzzle to solve. In this case, thinking outside the box is a literal recommendation.

I think you're right but holy shit I still can't figure it out. Christ .

Are you talking about
the panels down by the water's edge where you have to trace around the rock outlines?

If so, the very last one is
actually the palm trees behind you. You have you look at the panel from the back and line the palm trees up instead of the rocks in the water.

The only problem is, I don't think solving it actually did anything!

The game past the initial are gets a little too obtuse. The easing into the mechanics did not translate paste the opening stages. Ugh.

I've been playing about 40 minutes. Nice game, nice views,... It's gorgeous.

Some puzzles are quite obvious. Meanwhile, some are so difficult is looks like it makes no sense. I think I will spend a lot of hours playing with this, haha.

Here's the beginning of the game, recorded from my PS4. First 20 minutes, if somebody wants to take a look. You won't hear me talking, I have no mic.

I was testing the "Share" bottom for the first time, as you see, haha.

So I kind of stumped myself by not sticking to one area and walking around too much.

I did the first sun puzzle in the desert but can't figure out where to learn what the blue and yellow tetris cubes mean, then went on to do one garden maze puzzle in the castle area.

I gotta take a break.

Hint for the
color elevator
in greenhouse?
What do I do at the frayed cable?

edit: Hmm. Maybe I've got it. Hate trial-and-erroring when a wrong move could send me to the bottom.

It's less that they changed and more that the puzzles up to that point make you jump to that conclusion, and that puzzle is there to break that assumption. But I got stuck there for quite some time too until I took a long pause.

lmao, this is exactly what I just came to ask

I'M STUCK ;_;

Didn't solve yet, but I'm assuming that
since the next floor is green, you need to find out what colors are each tiles by the blue/red floors, and then see how the colors would be reduced to in the green one.

The main goal of everyone should be finding the boat - it has a map and it show where every other tutorial is located. Helps a lot!

No, I got that one. It's the one right before that one.

There are four random rocks in the water in front of the panel that all look different. I think you may have to use the clouds. I was able to solve it by guessing but I'd really like to know how you're actually supposed to solve the puzzle.

It's the puzzle at 7:18 in this video. The guys solves the puzzle but doesn't actually show how he figured it out.
