The Wolf Among Us |OT| Season 1

If anyone has finished all of season 1, how long is the game with all episodes completed? Going to give it a shot now after they have all now been released. I guess the episodic nature is just not for me.

oh, um hmm, ok then, someone needs to explain to me that last scene
with narissa
I'm confused =/

I think the implication is either Narissa is either Faith somehow or the original Faith you meet was actually a glamoured Narissa because the way she talks is very similar.

Well that ending
sure leaves unanswered questions. Of course everythings leading up for a TWAU 2. Fucking Telltale.

But that was a very cool ride. Better than TWD in my opinion.

How I understand it is,
Bigby never met Faith. Faith was already dead before the beginning of the game. Posing as Faith was part of Nerissa's plan to get Bigby going on hunting down the Crooked Man.

Though of course there might be more to it, but there's no way to know for now :p

I think this is probably right.

Great final episode. But still: TWD > TWAU, because the Lee-Clementine-relationship was something really special.

So what did you guys do at the end?
I went after Narissa (if it was here)

Ah, that was good. Really enjoyable start to finish, even if short.

Failed in guessing the murderer, lol. What are the clues?

Too many QTEs in my opinion.

The last scene with the crooked man was intense. Was almost disappointed with how it was resolved by Nerissa, but...

...the last scene made all that good again. I agree with the conclusion that she was Faith Bigby met.

Great experience overall. I'm going to the book store now to find volume 13 and 14 :D

Overall, I'd put it just slightly below The Walking Dead S1, the last episode
didn't really have that final punch to the gut, you know? It was a lot more slower paced than I expected, mostly due to the trial. Having Narissa show up midway felt a bit eh to me as well. The whole thing with her felt a tad off to me for some reason.

Great ending. Makes you think back on what
the donkey skin girl legend is all about. Being able to escape her kingdom through a cloak. Brilliant. That scene with Vivian decapited herself....

and what about the red headed guy that Snow said hello to in the first episode?!?!

Ikuu

Had his dog run over by Blizzard's CEO
Transforming into the wolf and the whole fight was terrible, it felt like it was lacking proper sound effects and animations, just felt incredibly unsatisfying.

So, while we're trying to make sense of the final revelation, can someone clarify what happens if you
chase after Nerissa at the end? The way it sounds, I presume you don't catch her and get more information.

The interpretation that
Nerissa was Faith the whole time, including your first meeting
, is simple - so I want to believe it - but there a couple of things that bug me: the Book of Fables entry on the
donkeyskin coat that emphasizes the ability to hide in plain sight
and, more importantly, the fact that
you originally meet Faith because she's filling in for Lily with the Woodsman. If they're all friends, wouldn't Lily know that Faith is just a glamoured Nerissa? Both of these are leading me to speculate that it's Faith that's still alive and glamoured as Nerissa. Remember, her body was never found, which would have revealed the glamour on her head.

Unrelated point: it seems like every other semi-major character from the game showed up during the episode besides The Woodsman, unless I'm mistaken, right?
You'd think he'd have as good a reason to be at the trial as anyone.

Took me 8 hours , just completed ep.5

All in all I really liked the game and I will check out the comics

I agree with these.

The clue that I saw
was that the Huff and Puffs that were found at the crime scene were also the ones being dispensed at the strip club.

I really wanted to tear Crooked Man's head off but I was like nah. I just threw him down the well. Though I also thought about imprisoning him and I actually think I should have.

Also, Nerissa was Faith right?

Overall short, too many QTEs, the
Bloody Mary fight
was underwhelming. Though I enjoyed it. However, I did feel a bit overwhelmed with some of the information flying around.

Not as good as TWD S1 finale though.

Nothing. You start chasing her and the game ends

Re : Final scene:

"I replayed it and I'm back to thinking it's actually Faith. One of the exchanges Bigby goes over is:

Bigby: "Did Dr Swineheart ever get back to you about Faith?"
Snow : "He said he needed more time."

Which leads me to think the dead Faith we see was probably Narissa's glamoured head and then Faith took over as Narissa for the rest of the plot.

My steam game time says 7 hours for the whole of season 1.

I can't remember that scene tbh, what makes you thin this way?

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
Great episode. Great season. Far better than Walking Dead's first season (haven't played the second). Perhaps it's just because I like fairy tales a lot.

I need to work through a pile of books first but afterwards I'm starting with Fables. I really like the core concept and I've needed an excuse to read comics.

Well, the scene plays out like he's astounded because Narissa says what Faith said to you in Episode 1. He then flashes back over a bunch of deja vu moments "trying to place me?" and other similar dialogue moments. He then remembers that Faith's autopsy (or whatever passes for that here) has not been finished, so it's possible that the head he found was glamoured in the same way Lily was. Lily's glamour only broke because they had her whole body, which was not the case for Narissa / Faith. Narissa's body is likely at the bottom of the river (Toad Jr witnessed the dumping, and Georgie says something like "I'll dump you in the river like that Whore!" this episode).

So clearly her identity is up to debate, but the fact they went out of their way to remind you that you never got the results of the autopsy leads me to think Faith is alive, and the head we get at the end of episode 1 is likely Narissa, glamoured as Faith.

Don't forget GameSpot's 6. They don't seem too hot on the series, I guess.

I did the same too.

Regarding the finale if you choose to let Snow talk
Toad and TJ might not be sent to the farm...can anyone confirm this?

My fav. part of this ep.
was Bigby vs. Bloody Mary, that final blow!

Just finished it, hot damn that was good.

Episode 5 of The Walking Dead was just over an hour long and it was pretty satisfying.

Yes but all other episodes that season were 2+ hours. Wolf Among Us have all been under 2 and most of them just an hour and a half max. I love the game but all eps are way too short.

Still though
in ep. 2 we see Nerrisa and Georgie together, so unless Georgie knew that was Faith, it makes the ending strange. Furthermore we have mentioned Faith and Lilly but he never once corrected us on who was actually killed, not even in the end when confronting him

Check me off for the confused ending as well...

So i'm gathering that Nerissa glamoured herself as faith in order to get bigby's attraction/attention to kick the whole investigation off but that means faith was already dead by that point right?

But then again, if that's the case how did faith/nerissa know she would meet Bigsby that night at all? They only had that interaction because of the altercation with Woodmans wanting a freebie.

Also, what was Georgie talking about when he said it was either between killing lily and faith or killing vivian? I don't see how vivian works into Nerissa's story?

Help :(

The ending twist with
Nerissa
is just strange. It feels like they couldn't bear to leave the plot neatly tied up, but really the twist is inconsequential. So what if
Nerissa was glamored as Faith to encourage Bigby to go after Crooked Man.
I really don't see why they had to put that in there, it doesn't really change anything.

It plays on the whole overarching idea throughout the entire series as well as the finale that the powers that be don't/didn't care about the fables and that if she hadn't done what she did nothing would have happened at all.

Goddamn, this choice got to me.

Had to back out to menu and restart after that one, lol, the game was flipping out.

Did Episodes 4 and 5 back-to-back, pretty awesome way to spend an evening. Happy with how it turned out. Well done TellTale.

I'm wondering if I should just start over and play from episode 1? I haven't played episode 4 yet and I barely remember anything from the first couple episodes.

He was talking about
what it would take to set the girls free, to escape from the trap he'd ended up in. To free them from the spell would mean killing Vivian, so instead he just continued on. It was more of a theorhetical excuse than anything. "I had to kill them because I couldn't free them."

What I don't get is why
Vivian and Georgie thought the ribbon thing was a good idea in the first place. We had finally found somewhere to be free, so we set up this slavery system that can only be ended by my death. What could go wrong?

Really time for a new engine. loaded up episode 4, and as the game is going through the past episodes it hard locks my PS3.

Great episode. I really enjoyed this season and I look forward to playing season 2 if that happens.

What did you guys do to the Crooked Man? I threw his ass down the Witching Well and I was surprised to see I was in the minority on that choice. What was the popular choice? Imprisonment? Tearing his head off?

Man, I don't know what to do with the Crooked Man. I kind of want to imprison him, but chucking him down the Well doesn't sound too bad either.

Killed him as soon as I got the chance. Didn't want to risk him talking his way out of anything once the "reasonable" people were around.
