The Wonderful 101 |OT| Diplomacy has failed

Only part I noticed slow downs were during the
final fight, where the boss fires a red laser at you, depending on where the camera is at that moment

Nope. They also never released one for rising. Not sure why, but the prima one looks crap.

Piggyback did the Strategy guide for Rising, so I'm fine with that. What bothers me is the fact that they actually took the time to make a strategy guide for Madworld, but The Wonderful 101 gets no love.

Does Madworld even need a strategy guide?

Yeah, I'm curious what happened after Vanquish. Was the futurepress (and with that saur) deal something done with Sega? Nintendo should have renewed that deal. Ah well.

I don't know how good the actual content in the prima guide is, but it does look cheap. I bought the guides as collector items. The CE Bayo one is incredible.

I cannot stand the way your crew scatters when you take a hit. I find this obscenely frustrating in a way that I almost can't explain. The missions are way too long as well and just seem to drag on and on and on.

On top of everything the framerate is HORRIBLE and drops below 30 fps during every big battle.

For the former: Yeah, it can be frustrating but it's a consequence to getting hit as it takes away your source of using big Unite Morphs.

For the latter: Nonsense.

I've gotten framerate drops in several places (only at 002-C now).
The most recent one was in 002-B, when I was running away and the burning building.

It's no different than the Vanquish guide. Except that it's useful to have as it's for a game with actual unlockable content and a ranking system

It's a soft cover guide. Buy it if you want an unlockable checklist on hand and ranking requirements. Otherwise....don't?

I'll probably get it nonetheless, but I'm a bit saur ( dun dun dun).

I don't really care about their other games honestly

But there's gonna be some shit if there isn't a hardcover Bayo 2 guide similar in quality to the first

That's the only guide I consider a collector's item. I'll just make sure to buy 2(or 3) this time around

Offtopic: Talking about Bayo, Bayonetta 2 will be at Eurogamer Expo and I couldn't get a ticket. I'm dying inside. Dying.

Will be dead soon. :'(

Completely forgot about it, until a friend of mine remind me last week, but when I tried to buy it everything was sold out. :'(

I just want all that info up on the intarwebs somewhere.

I'd settle for just the locations of hidden stuff and the secret bottle caps.

I finished the game on normal.

Is there an easy way to flipflop between difficulty levels???

I played a level on hard and it might have saved and I can't figure out how to go back and play levels on normal now.

When selecting an Operation, look on the gamepad screen to change the difficulty.

Edit: I haven't changed difficulties yet myself so I wouldn't know if it locks you to that difficulty. I would imagine quitting the mission and going back to Operation select screen would let you change difficulty again.

Check the Gamepad when you're at Virgin Victory, it has the difficulty options right there.

After looking through 10 pages of posts I missed, I gave up on typing a mega post because it would risk crashing someone's computer.

Coming of Bayonetta did the same thing to me. In Bayonetta we dodge at the last possible minute. Here we need to block when we get the visual/audio clues and wait. Example: if you are fighting the Tank, when it makes the sound it is going to attack block. Don't wait for it to start moving closer to you. Same thing when it is about to shoot the projectiles. When you hear the sound: block. It needs a different timing than Bayonetta. You will have to readjust.

If you are having problems with coordinating everything that is going on, the only possible advice I have to give you is: keep on playing. You get used after a while. Remember you can use L and R to adjust the camera. I personally like to play it zoomed out. Makes it easier to see everything. Also, look for the ring that indicates where the leader is, and not for the mass of people as a whole. You only need to worry about the Leader.

You can use the Wonder Liner to regroup your team members. Makes it faster, instead of running close to every single member.
Yes, I think that's my issue with the blocking. I was approaching it like Bayo by reacting at the last possible minute but, as you said, that doesn't work here. I was reacting to the position of the enemy rather than the tells. I think changing the way I am dodging might help a lot so I'll give that a shot first.

As for the little guys laying on the ground when they get hit, it's in the game's systems. Your 100 dudes are a ressource you have to manage in order to be able to bring up the biggest weapons, either you go walk to them to wake them up, you can use the wonder liner or you can just wait a few seconds for them to come back.

Ummmm, no. The only times it goes under 30 is during a few of the cinematics. The rest of the time it varies between 30 and 60 fps. TRUTHFACT (I think).
Yeah, I understand that they are a resource, but I found it annoying when you're being attacked by so many enemies at once and manage to block/dodge all but one which kills any momentum you had due to scattering troops. I'll just have to keep trying.

As for the framerate, you're wrong, it does indeed drop below 30 fps during larger battles. Most of the time it hangs between 30-60, as you say, but only manages to hit 60 fps during the most simplistic moments. Even the bonus levels with no real environment dip below 60. I actually have legitimate proof as well, but can't actually share it here. :\ It's a real shame as it does impact the experience a lot.

I didn't feel it drop below 30 too often, even in big battles, with the exception of the obvious ones. But it also rarely sat at 60 or even came close. Super fluctuating. Locked would have been nice, but whatever. I played through the mess that was Bayonetta PS3 more than once, and this is nowhere near as bad as that, and Revengeance too had framerate issues.

The Kamiya Mii.

It dropped noticeably for me during Vorkken fights, especially if I went to the edge of the arenas. Safely above 30 everywhere else though.

The key to not scattering when you get hit is not to get hit. You have multiple dodge moves and tons of unite blocks. Use them.

Well, the game just kind of broke on me in part 2 of mission 2. I got to the part where you need to do a QTE Unite Whip, but before it loaded that my screen went black and I was only getting audio. Then after it failed while I was trying to figure out what was going on, it reloaded and I had visual... but the game wasn't accepting any of my inputs, outside of messing with flipping off-screen play on and off/Miiverse. Neither right stick nor drawing worked, so I was stuck in an infinite loop of failing.

I turned it off a little frustrated for now. I'm hoping it's just a strange, freak glitch, but has anyone else run into anything like this? Also, any tips for if it happens again?

Is there an easy way to get the (secret achievement spoiler regarding not taking a hit during a certain kind of boss fight)
Punchout bottle cap? I did the epilogue kahooglewhatsit fight without taking a hit and didn't get it and I try loading into the 005-C boss and if I get hit I have to do everything up to the fight again (I try the retry option in the menu and I go back to my last save. On a different mission). Kinda frustrating.

Not sure if someone already posted this but last time I read about it the info on 101% Hard was false.

It does remove the slowmo when drawing and the ring that marks your leader is gone as well.
