Has anyone been watching the snowboarding competitions online through NBC?

I couldn't stand listening to the commentator (Jack Nicholls) and was appalled that NBC could hire someone who seems to know little to nothing about snowboarding. Most of the play-by-play amounts to: "he approaches the jump, he lands it, that was pretty good."

I later found out that the coverage is actually different than what you get on television and is instead through a service called "Live Extra". It has now started to become hilarious with the men's halfpipe qualifications where he is having trouble keeping up and is only able to call out the every other flat spins. With the more advance riders, it is practically dead silence throughout the entire run.

Yea his commentary is pretty much a live play by play "oh he didn't get enough height" and if they don't fall "that was a pretty good ride"

The camera views for this half-pipe aren't too good. But I understand that it's always hard to have it moving while still showing the entire jump.

Not impressed with men's curling team for Canada so far. They were the heavy favorites and aren't playing too hot. I would have felt more confident with Kevin Martin again though I know Jacobs & Co were the best team and deserved to come. Women's side was supposed to be much more wide open and they are playing really well.

Canada doing well in curling, too. Up 6-2 and they have the hammer in the 7th end. Looking good. Edit: oh wait, I guess they didn't have the hammer

I think it's because the X-Games have been more U.S.-centric. Europeans do well in events like alpine and nordic skiing on the other hand.

Europeans aren't as preoccupied with being rad, outrageous and stoked as Americans

Northug vs tree swedes in his QF heat, lol. But he's looked the weakest on the team so far, I don't have high hopes.

So god damn proud of Canada. Obviously it won't last too long. I expect america/Russia to pass eventually. But gotta be proud of Canada's effort.

The 'thug is done these games. Peaked for tour de ski but even then he was confirmed over the hill. Swedes fastest times by far though, don't know what that means for the semis.
