Clearly you've never experienced a British Summer...
Not even the British have.

The international crowds not showing up doesn't surprise me to much with all the bad press leading up to this. and that there is no real "City" hosting the games. More worrying is that it might/will be 14 C later for the skiing part though, not it gets colder as this temp will make the snow horrible the rest of the Olympics
It's can also be a pain to obtain Visa's ect.
BBC presenter said it was 20c.
The Dutch broadcast consists of stalling as much time as possible until speed skating comes up, and after speed skating just tons of analysis of speed skating until 9 pm when we get the speed skaters on the show to talk about speed skating.
Sounds like a missed opportunity for more speed skating.
Seems to be a huge skill gap in women's halfpipe. Most of these girls are just too small to get air and maintain any speed.

Size doesn't matter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8bUIPsMh_M (too young for the olympics)
BoooooooooDAMN, that long angled run back by Jennifer Jones for 3. BEAST
I didn't think she was gonna make that!

You not only need a visa, but also a special spectator pass to be able to buy tickets. They have used refused to issue specator passes to people who have been critical of the games.
edit: boring early day, at least the hockey starts this afternoon
Does anyone know if anyone is streaming the Womens Japan vs Germany hockey game tonight?
CBC has it on TV up here but apparently not streaming it? A friend in Austrailia wants to watch it.
here, have some Justine and Chloé selfies
