This E3 has sucked!

Doc Holliday

SPOILER: Columbus finds America
I was so spoiled by last years e3:

-MGS3
-DS
-PSP
-Halo 2
-New Zelda
-RE4
-Metroid 2
-Half Life 2
-Doom3

This year has paled in comparison. I thought x-box would carry the show being the first out the gates. But it seems like their showing was as bad 2001. Sony, nothing playable for ps3 nuff said. Nintendo, well zelda is nice. What else is there?

:(

Please change your thread title to:

I am reacting to E3 and it sickens me.

Thanks.

;)

What nut actually thought there would be playable PS3 titles on the show floor?

Seriously.

This E3 has really sucked. The only thing that really excited me was the Sony press conference. The lack of NEW game announcements really disappointed me (especially for PSP).

Where the hell's Diablo 3? Soul Calibur PSP?

You mean Soul Calibur DS? :lol...I laugh at the fanboys that thought that was real.

Yeah, this E3 is really, really boring. I still think the last great one was e32k2. Mario, Zelda and Metroid, all playable and extremely promising.

We got way, way more revealed about consoles (the PS3 in particular) and way less about games. It reminds me on 1999.

I'm disappointed that there's not a lot more for PSP.

Yes, it has. I'm not going to say it was TOTALLY bad, yet, until I see what Konami's "surprise" is, but it better be good to make up for the 3 major press confrences. I don't care about systems I'm not going to have for another year, and the only thing that imopressed me about any of them is Nintendo's "downloading games" feature. Better graphics? Yeah, all the next-gen systems are going to dwarf this gen's in that aspect or else why even HAVE new systems? I care about games, and this e3 has NOT delivered in that aspect AT ALL. As far as I'm concerned, only 2 things can save this e3.

1) Konami translation the Tengai Makyou: The Apocalypse 4 port for PSP
2) Namco announcing Tales of Rebirth (Not going to happen at this point)

What do you expect(if you feel that way)? Last year showcased this gen's last hurrah, next year will focus on next gen's first gen stuff. This is a transition year.

Maybe Nintendo is on to something afterall. ;)

Based on the games that Nintendo was showing, I don't think they are. :)

Sure, they didn't focus on hardware...but they sure as hell didn't focus on games either. :P

REALLY!? You don't say!

One man's opinion.

I, for one, though Battalion Wars and Zelda looked like a lot more fun than going to the cinema.

wish i could be there still, i dont give a shit just want to play good games. sad thing is i live in San Diego kinda sad oh well.

Sure, it's all opinion and I agree that Zelda looked good...but Zelda and CV DS are the ONLY two games that interest me between all 3 Nintendo platforms. I'm more disappointed with them than any other group. They have virtually nothing to offer me.

Eh, they weren't any worse off than any other publisher. Twilight Princess and Advance Wars DS aren't exactly horrible, Nintendo probably had the best lineup at E3 really. Nothing that exciting on any front really. :/

I completelly agree. This E3 has sucked.

Current Gen Platfforms

Almost no interesting games...Excepct for Okami and Zelda all the rest was pretty meh...Pretty sad.

Handhelds

hey, Does Sony remember they released a PSP not so long ago ? And what about SOME interesting DS games ? Shit...

Next-Gen Platfforms

Cool showings but the lack of gameplay impressions killed everything...IMO it was too early to show them.

Nintendo seems to have the best games of the show. I really don't get why people are whining... what did you expect them to have?
Something relevant to what people actually want in games instead of what Nintendo can cheaply pump out for more quick money.

I agree that this as been the worst E3 in years. Sure, the hardware was there, but the games weren't. Mario & Luigi 2 has been the most interesting new game that we have seen....

I guess Zelda is very easy to pump out then.

I think companies are too busy creating teasers for next gen hardware this E3.

This E3 is SO boring. Feels like only Shooters&racing games were announced. I lost completely interest in the E3 already. Teh best E-TRi evar ? Teh Nos.

I got news. Zelda isn't quick money. It's a big game. Mario party on the other hand...

This E3 has been great for me. MGS4 and MGS3S!!! And we got screens and a trailer for RE4 PS2. And not only that, Sony showed their PS3 and totally blew us away! I'm happy!

Some more suprises would have been nice though!

what the fuck are the media doing ? those bastards are only covering fps/racers/sports games.

I've 20 tabs open, set on auto-refresh, and i could only get ONE picture of Funcom booth. The Longest Journey sold 300k copies, which is pretty damn great for an adventure game, and no one is covering its sequel. The game is playable on Microsoft booth and demoed behind closed doors, but there's nothing about it on the net. Gamespot is glued on EA booth, and i guess Kasavin will write an article about the need of innovation in the industry in the next few months. hypocrite.

Meh,it was good enough for me,Madden real time looks as good as the renders, and I'll be playing it this fall! *swoon*

This is the year of press conferences. You can't get excited about this gen, developers can't get inspired by this gen, and we can't really see next gen. Yes, the sound of "all 3 next gen systems" is incredibly exciting, but next year is the year of "all 3 next gen systems on the floor", which is a LOT more exciting. Not to mention the full graphical power of the systems unleashed, instead of these early dev kits.

face it gentlemen...

TGS >>>>>> E3. And always will be.

This E3 has been all about the hyperbole. Walk away from it... and what do you have? Time away from the giddy 1st 2 days conferences and I feel no more keen about next gen than I was before.

The whole CG debacle is ruining gaming.

Ingame or Piss off, developers.

Aside from Zelda, all the best games are on DS. That's crazy! Where in the hell is the PSP support?

yeah that's about the only thing e3 did for me, make me stoked for my ds purchase. I liked looking at the designs of all new consoles for the 10 seconds it took to do that as well.

I'm still pissed off that the media hasn't given me anything new on SOCOM 3.

They even reported on 24: The Game for crying out loud (needs tweaking IMO, but could be potentially great).

Bauer Power!

What I don't get is devs are saying they want to support this gen longer, yet failed to show much in they way of compelling software. Yes next gen is near but theres money to be made here yet.

I have Kirby, Another Code, Ultimate Card Games, Ultimate Brain Games, Nanostray, Meteos, Lost in Blue, Pac N Roll, Metroid Prime Hunters (maybe), Castlevania, Viewtuf Joe, Advance Wars, Sonic Rush, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, new Super Mario Bros, and Mario & Luigi 2 as games that I plan on buying this year for the DS, off the top of my head

Fuck me. >_>

At least Nintendo went light on the GC! :P (I only plan on buying Zelda and Kirby, maybe)

People bitch about E3 every year. It's like it would take Kojima giving birth at a press conference while Miyamoto delivers the baby before some people will consider the event "good". Just gets to me, that's all...

I know E3's bad when the game I'm actually most excited about is Ghost Recon 3. I hate Tom Clancy games, I hate war games, and I've never cared for the Xbox....and that's the most compelling thing I've seen outside of Zelda.

It really was a shitty E3. Zelda was just about the only title that has me really interested. Oh, and the new morrowind or whatever its called. But i dont even know what was shown of that.

It sucks to be a PSP owner at E3. Although it was good to see Y's VI back on track. Maybe Sony will rock my cock off tomorrow with PSP but I doubt it.

E3 was a bust in lots of various ways. However, these are the games I'm looking forward to playing later this year:

Zelda-Twilight Princess
Fire Emblem GC (?)
Fire Emblem-Sacred Stones
Castlevania DS
Dragon Quest VIII
Shadow of the Colossus
Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII (?)
Everyone Loves Katamari
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (I know :) )
Okami
Burnout Revenge

I'm definitely disappointed in the vagueness of the next-gen still, when this E3 was so monumentally hyped. Still, there's lots of great gaming to be had in the next year. More than I can keep up with, that's for sure.

Blame Microsoft.

Well that goes without saying..

Tokyo>>>>>>LA

I think this E3 is a weird one, because the companies are moving on to the next gen...but this gen is still alive and kicking... so I think all of them didn't quite know how to approach it.. they don't want to undercut sales...
Also, a lot of devs jumped off of this gen stuff to get a jump start on the next... leaving a big void at E3
