This is an Xbox: CES reveals new Xbox-licensed controller that looks the same as Dualsense

Microsoft should open up Xbox Wireless to third-parties. I know it's basically Wi-Fi-like instead of Bluetooth, so it needs extra hardware, but fuck that shit.

Don't really like the stick placement, can't tell you why either, i always struggle when i play with my friend on his PS5.

The looks i don't really give a shit, it's a controller, it's not like i have that crap to decorate my place.

What i don't really get is the need to do something like this.

If this was an official controller or wireless, I may have considered getting this.

-Wired sucks, but ok
-Not a fan of the name
-Design looks like an 60s superhero mask
-Hall effect stick/triggers and back buttons? fuck yes!
-What kind of haptics will this thing have?

I'm always surprised people feel so strongly on stick placement since it's really easy to get used to after a small time playing when swapping between systems.
Some people are slaves to their habits and biases. Stick placement makes little to no difference and you really realize this if you are playing the same game on both consoles for longer durations. I have done that with Destiny 2. I have had long gaming sessions on Xbox and PS, you can easily adjust to both placements. At one point, and this was during the PS4/Xbox One gen, I had pretty much started to play D2 on the Xbox One X exclusively. Later, when Presage (mission in D2) came out, I switched to PS4 Pro and spent about the same length of time and then would switch back and forth.

You can easily adapt to both layouts. We're adaptable but of course, preference is a thing. 🤷‍♂️

Having said that, the sticks are what we're using majority of the time, so on paper, PS placement should feel better and this is what I use to think. Anyhow, people are stubborn and they have to feel their way is better than others. Now I feel like I am ranting haha.

Lol, that thing is dead on arrvial.

Change the best part about the Xbox controller - Check
Make it as ugly as possible - Check, it's so ugly that even the PS5 would look good next to it.

Who would want that placement?

If it wasnt for hyperkin being hit and miss I would have collected the retro trio from them.
Alas im not willing to gamble on quality.

If ur going to remake the duelsense at least lut the back buttons lower.r2 l2 should be a bit lower tlit is more ergonomic

I assume this is a part of the "this is a xbox" strategy where he can copy everything and say its from Xbox?

Nope Hyperkin is a third party manufacturer not affiliated with Microsoft and they do weird shit all the time.

8bitdo is the only 3rd party ive found acceptable

i recently bought a powerA controller for the switch (for my daughter, because it has princess peach on it) and it feels like shit.

I moved away from Xbox roughly a year ago and although the Dualsense does alot of things right, I still think the xbox controller has the best feel and ergonomics.

"do you want worse ergonomics from a notoriously mediocre controller manufacturer?"

no... no I don't

Exactly this. I jump between the different stick placements all the time and have no issue.

Same here. Stick placement, they both feel perfectly natural it's like 2 in apart.

I think a d-pad feels weird when it's lower, but anytime I use one in that position I don't even notice once I'm playing. People just want an excuse to dig in their heels on anything.

thats my point
What's wrong with Dualsense sticks position?

There's nothing 'wrong', it just doesn't feel as comfortable.

Swapping between the Xbox pad and Dualsense, the xbox pad feels a lot better in my hands. But like I said in another thread, this seems to be a Dualsense only issue, I never had comfort issues on the Dualshock 4.

The stick placement though makes playing shooters a lot better on the Xbox pad, there's very little questioning that, while the Dualshock/sense have always had a better D-pad which lends them better for fighting games.
