Skyrim build question:
I haven't played Skyrim since 2012, but I remember them nerfing hybrid builds pretty hard compared to Morrowind and Oblivion. Magic in particular you needed to dual cast in order to be effective at all, and if you didn't go full "Mage" magic was pretty useless. I was thinking of picking this game back up when the Definitive edition or whatever comes out on the 28th. I've never played any of the DLC and would love to jump in and do everything this game has to offer. I remember people made a "better magic" mod for this particular reason, but I'm going to play this on consoles (PS4) and I know mods won't really be a thing. I'd love to play the vanilla version first before I revisit with mods anyways.
Question: Are hybrid builds possible with all the updates/patches/DLCs. In a perfect world I'd love to play a Battle Mage (Sword in 1 hand, magic in the offhand) or just any kind of non cookie cutter build. I hated that it was just way to effective to play as a generic Warrior, Mage, or Archer. I understand the need to not let you be a jack of all trades; but like I said before in this game they really made magic require every point to be even useful. When the DE version comes out this month what are some good hybrid builds of any kind that are effective on Hard difficulty?
I'm open to playing as anything that isn't just the generic "Melee/Mage/Ranged". Please tell me this is possible.
