This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Here is a HDTV calibration question(s).

On my tv I have the option of picking between Dynamic, Standard and Movie picture settings. Should I use the disc with the standard setting or will I be ok using dynamic since that is what I always use.

Also, should I turn off(or set to normal) all the extra "features" like Digital NR, HDMI black level, Dynamic contrast etc... while I am using the calibration disc?

Go with Standard or Movie. Dynamic is hideously inaccurate and really only suitable for use in bright settings (like an appliance store or something).

why does female Shepard have such a long neck?

In The Beatles Rock Band is it possible to just watch the animations with the music on and not play?

EDIT: Ignore this, found out, ordered a mic.

Does the PS3 blu-ray remote need standard batteries like a normal remote, or does it have one built in that you charge with a mini USB cable like the dualshock?

Just bought myself a cheap Gamecube. Anybody got some good games to recommend?
Wind Waker, MGS Twin Snakes and Mario Sunshine.

People rip on Sunshine, and it's not as good as 64 or Galaxy, it is strangely similar to being the SMB2 of the 3D games, but it's still the best 3D platformer last generation.

How long is a typical Mass Effect 2 playthrough?

Depends. Insanity took me about 30 hours IIRC, but that was no DLC and dying a bunch. Also, mineral gathering has been significantly sped up, so a large chunk of time has been taken out.

I'd say with all the DLC a comprehensive playthrough could be done in around 20-30 hours, depending on how much you read the codex, mine, and do sidequests.

+Pikmin 1/2, Smash Bros Melee, etc.

Bought Super Smash Bros, Mario Sunshine and Mario Kart Double Dash.

Thinking of getting some of the Resident Evil games or Rouge Squadron games. How are the RE remakes and Rouge Squadron games?

Oh yes, REmake is definitely worth picking up.

Well I'm on 41 Hours right now....too much? And I haven't beat it yet.

Edit: Just Finished total time 42 Hrs. All Loyal, All All SideQuest (as far as I know) except that dog tag search, Full Paragon, Lvl 27.

Bizarre that the picture has an Xbox logo on it, the skating mode was exclusive to the PS2 version I believe.
I don't think so... I'm not sure either though. Who cares though? It was basically a demo for a game that played like shit anyways.

Does the Xbox 360 Slim have ports for Memory Units? I feel my old model 360 is about to bite the dust, and I'd like to be able to keep my saves on a Memory Unit rather than a dying hard drive.

Why doesnt rockstar patch GTA IV online play so that modders can't play. ?

Modders can also freeze the entire game up when ever they want. , the can't die, and fire rockets from there pistols.

They were taken out, so you'll have to use a transfer device. You can transfer saves over to a USB thumb drive though now that they can store 360 data though.

Buying old cartridge games (GB etc) on ebay etc means you might get the odd dirty cartridge, whats the best way to clean them? Bit of grim, bit of yellowing I guess.

I mean the casing specifically, not the connector (which I know about using the alcohol and cotton bud technique).

Does the Steam version of Mass Effect include Bringing Down the Sky? If not, do I have to buy it from EA's stupid site?

ah found it, it's actually free I just had to put in a CD-key and sign up for some bullshit

I'm pretty sure that the answer in 'no' , but is there a better way to organize your downloaded games on a ps3? At the very least u want them to be arranged alphabetically.

It does not, but BDTS doesn't really affect anything in ME2 so you'd be okay to go without it.

Whatever works. Water and cloth for simple dirt...rubbing alcohol for certain stains (it even takes out permanent marker if you're lucky!), and goo gone or lighter fluid for anything adhesive (like sticker residue).

Yellowing isn't really fixable... I've heard about obscure products that fix it. But I NEVER see yellow carts (though I have seen a few yellowed Super Famicom carts, same style as PAL SNES carts, but North American SNES carts are never yellow).

And Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work a charm. Good for general cleaning, and they've even taken off permanent marker that the alcohol wouldn't remove..... I had to scrub it for awhile... but you have to be careful not to rub down the texture of the cartridge if you care about such things.

I've restored some butt ugly carts to 'good as new'.

Is there any reason to keep the original FF Dissidia now that I have Duodecidem? And does Duodecidem have all the content of the original Dissidia?

Cheers for the info :)

I just got myself a very good deal on a Gameboy Color, long story but I missed out on the GB as a teenager, and thought I'd go for some retro handheld action. I've played on friends a billion times of course, but never had my own :(

Anyway, apart from Mario Land 1/2/3 (Wario Land?) and the Zelda's, what other games are worthy of a purchase for either GB or GBC? It comes with Mario Tennis and Bust-a-move Millenium.

(This could be interesting...)

What are the chances of finding a copy of Earthbound at a thrift store? The prices on ebay are pretty steep :(
You could probably win the lottery first.

The GBC version of Tetris Attack is very good. Don't forget about the Kirby games, and also the original Game Boy version of Donkey Kong.

What's the cheapest PS3 controller that I can get, but won't break within a week of use? Doesn't matter what market/nation it's from.

Kirby Dream Land and Kirby Pinball?
Also look for Kirby's Dream Land 2, Zelda: Link's Awakening DX and Wario Land 2 and 3.
Of course, many of these will probably wind up on the 3DS eventually.

Is Wario Land 3, Mario Land 3? And Wario Land 2 is the sequel to Wario Land 3?

Ohh I found out now.

Mario Land
Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Mario Land 3: Wario Land
Wario Land 2
Wario Land 3

Lots of platforming right there :)

Will any USB hub work on the 360, powered or not? Are there certain devices that need to be plugged directly into the system like the Kinect, HD-DVD & Wireless adapter, or can they go into the hub as well.
