I've always wondered, have there ever been estimates posted of what percentage of people buy both versions of each new Pokemon iteration? I'd assume it's relatively high but I can't imagine that it's a majority of people.

high amongst "hardcore" players and low amongst more "casual" players. really hard to say, though.
 
Is there somewhere on the internet where I can watch the really old Metroid Prime speed run by Radix? The one that is 1:37 long. Been googling for a while and can't find anything but broken links (download links to archive.org give me an 403 forbidden error) :( I know there are better times than 1:37 but I want to see this one anyway :) I'm like Jim Carrey in "The Number 23" but with 137 and it needs to stop! xD

So I have a Skyrim question. I guess maybe possible spoilers (nothing story or important though)

The companion I was using suddenly disappeared.
J'Zargo !!!
. He didn't die in combat, I didn't dismiss him, he isn't back where he came from, just gone.

The only thing I can think of is maybe a dragon came and killed him and launched him super far away or something? Or he just bugged out. Problem is he was carrying some of my stuff. Am I boned? I can't really reload a save or anything since it was a while back.
 
Is it easy to transfer whatever stuff one accumulates (save files, downloaded games, personal data) from one 3DS console to another?

Ha, that happened with 2 of my horses. Actually, way after the first one disappearing and before I bought the second, a horse corpse appeared next to me right after I teleported, I thought that was him :(
 
I've just been out for my first shop after Christmas with my 3DS, and picked up three Streetpasses. However, when I look at them in the Notifications panel, I get two that say "You've got company" and one which only says "You've company". Different messages with different firmwares? Different regions?
 
I have a PS3 hooked up via HDMI to my Plasma.

Now, the plasma is hooked up to my receiver via optical cable and the receiver goes to a 5.1 sound system.

The sound travels through the speakers when I watch tv, play the wii, play my 360, but on my PS3, it just goes through the tv speakers?

Anyone know how I change this? I looked at the sound settings, but there are a fucking million options. I tried selecting a few, but it said if I picked the wrong range, it could damage my speakers, so I got scared and backed out.

The 360 did it right away though.

It's going to be a setting on the TV unless you use optical from the PS3 to the receiver.
 
So I go to start up Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time on the Wii(borrowed a copy from my friend, it's the one that came as a preorder bonus when you were going to buy Wind Waker, so it is on a Gamecube disc) and I start playing. Get a few minutes in and realize I want to change my name in the game, reset, and now, even if I delete the save file through the Wii menu, which I have done multiple times, it keeps saying that the save file is corrupted, seemingly leaving my only option as being to continue playing the game without being able to save.

Anyone ever had this or something similar happen to them?

One of the reasons I haven't bought it and have mainly played it at friends houses. It must be selling enough. Or Blizzard just doesn't want to lower it due to it being one of its only 2 current selling games. I know people jump into WoW all the time but outside of the incoming Diablo 3, the next recent game that might be selling somewhat is SC2. I don't count older SC or Diablo Battlechests in this but I guess you could if you want. Blizzard makes quality games but in low quantities.
 
For XBL, when I select the "mute everyone except friends" setting does that mean I just can't hear them, or that they also can't hear me? I've started playing pretty regularly with my friend, and I don't want other people hearing our conversation.

If not, is there a way to do it in games like MW3?
 
Do the newest slim ps2 models (scph90001) come with online startup discs? I cant remember if one was packed in with the instruction manuals or not, and I would like to know.

By 2015 can Apple leverage its line of products (phone, tablet, computer, TV) that have access to 4G and FiberDSL against the games industry and turn gaming into what music, books (comics) and soon video are (that is to say mere content) and thus put MS, SONY and Nintendo into a very tight corner?

i'm talking making digital releases a given, and getting so much profit their competitors see drastic sales losses and steep market value declines.

I take mine apart and wash all the plastic parts separately, then put them back together (when they are completely dry, of course), mostly because if I try to get rid of the sweat dirt with a cloth or anything, I just end up pushing it into the cracks and between buttons and stuff.

I haven't taken apart a DS3 before, but if you're confident opening things up (and they aren't under warranty or whatever) opening them up is the best way to get controllers in general to be sparkly clean again.

Alternatively just try a dry or slightly damp cloth and try your hardest not to push that icky sweat dirt into the cracks!
 
So does Final Fantasy VII take place on Earth? Or is Sephiroth's "blow up the solar system" attack so powerful that if blows up the player's solar system?
 
I was going to start a new thread, but I figured I'd ask here first.

What's the best method of getting licensed music in a game a friend and I are creating? We'd like to release it to the public of course.

It'd either be that or to create our own tunes.

Do N64's not work on HDTV's? I tried hooking mine up and I get audio but the video is all messed up. This is weird because last summer I hooked it up and it worked fine on the same TV..
 
Is there any deadline defined on when the Demon's Souls servers will expire? Particularly the EU one, but I have NA and EU versions so both are an option (I imported it when it looked like it wasn't making an EU appearance!)
 
This has been bugging me for a while, but why did Capcom change the bonus stages for the 16 bit versions of Street Fighter 2? For all the Arcade versions until SSF2X it was Car Stage, Falling Barrel Stage, Oil Drums on Fire Stage. For the Home versions it was Car Stage, New Lame Attack the Bricks Stage, Falling Barrels Stage. Why? Was the Oil Drums Stage too hard to recreate on Megadrive/SNES?
 
When is Dragon Quest XI coming out? I am very disappointed in the short offline campaign for X.
I never saw DQ becoming p2p, then again, it's now Square-Enix,so it was only a matter of time.

Looked everywhere and STILL can't figure it out.

How do I make a ragdoll sit in a car I create in Garry's Mod without making the car not able to move and glitch out? I only figured out how to do it with objects, but the ragdolls make the car all glitchy and mess it up when I weld them to it.

Anyone know?
 
Can the PlayStation 3D Display do 480i? I just bought one and I'm probably going to get some component cables to hook my Wii up to it (I only have composite cables for it) but virtual console games don't run at 480p.
 
Does anyone own the Turtle Beach P11 headset? I'm trying to figure out if it has some sort of simulated surround? I'm aware that it would never be true 7.1, but the Turtle Beach site implies that it has some sort of virtual surround. I know the Sony Wireless headset has virtual surround.
 
Why is The Darkness II being developed by Digital Extremes and not by Starbreeze Studios, the makers of the first game.
If the answer is because Starbreeze is now working on Syndicate, why the change in the first place?
 
Okay, so I downloaded the Red Dead Redemption Zombie pack on PS3, and while the description states that Red Dead Redemption is not required to play, and while I've downloaded and installed all of the included files, the game does not show up on my list of games on the PS3 main screen.

What am I doing wrong here?
 
Gaf, is there a way to cheat on LIVE or PS3 for the power of good? I have no desire whatsoever to give myself boosts or anything else, only to have some control over the situation in which a cheater appears.

Well I've never looked into the options or exploits, so I'm not sure if what I want is there. That's why I asked. Just a simple boot would be nice. And no difference in what?

Are you sure it didn't say it does require the game disc? This is what Wikipedia says:

Sounds to me like only the disc-version can be played without a copy of the original game.
