Did the early PS2 titles in the series have a decent PAL port, or should I be hunting down US copies?

Yakuza 1 was 50Hz with borders I think. Not sure about 2 as I just got the US version.

So I just bought a PSP Go and PS3. My PS3 can connect to the Wi-Fi no problem, but not my PSP Go. When I had a 3000 it could connect just fine, but we did change routers and I haven't had a 3000 since then.

I wanted to connect and buy God Eater Burst. Is there any way I can do that through the PS3? I know I can download it and then transfer the game over to the PSP, but I want to be able to get updates and whatnot as well.

If it's availabe on the PSN store, you can download on the PS3 and attach your PSPgo via usb. Then click on the bubble under games and copy to the PSP. Sounds like you'll need to go through and correct the network settings on the PSPgo.

Can you use the 360 transfer cable with opened hard drives? I bought a regular 360 HDD for my slim 360 and had to open it to fit it in...it's 120gb but now I want to upgrade to 250gb.

When does Gamestop's 3DS trade in promotion end? I asked at a Gamestop yesterday and was told it ended on launch day. Their site was saying it ends April 3 a couple weeks ago, but now it doesn't list an end date.

I just installed Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box, the version that I got for 0.00 on the steam store. I installed it on D:\Burnout instead of D:\Games\Burnout as I'd like to, so I'm going to reinstall it. Question is, is the game going to give me trouble a la DRM when I install it a second time? I have my key at the ready and all.

Is there a substantial difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Dead Space? I have my 360 at my parents' house (where I'll be briefly as of tomorrow), but my PS3 is here in my apartment with a better sound system.

Does anyone know where I can find that screen shot of what I THINK is a horrible Call of Duty Wii screen shot of a creepy looking soldier? Someone, or a few, had it as an avatar but haven't seen it in a while.

I'm unsure about DS1, but I've heard from several different websites that DS2 is near identical on PS3 and 360.

Anyone out there play the Toy Story 3 game? It's $20 at Best Buy this week and I'm tempted to pick it up for the hell of it.

I heard it's pretty good, i'm interested in it also, anyone play toy story 3 the game?

quick question, what site do you guys use to print video game covers?

I'm looking for a DJ hero 1(game only) xbox 360 cover (with upc) on the back

or if anyone had it, would scan it, i'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm playing STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl on my PC, and after logging many hours with the game with no problems, lately I've had four occurrences where my PC suddenly shut down in the middle of the game. (Not just crashed to desktop, but actually powered down as if the plug had been pulled.)

I have a year-old Dell Studio XPS Intel Core i7 desktop with an older ATI Radeon HD 4850 video card, and I'm playing the game with the Stalker Complete 2009 mod.

Any ideas what could be causing the problem? Could it be some kind of protective shutdown to avoid damage? If my 4850 card isn't up to the job, why is it I didn't have any problems during all the hours I've logged in the game over the past three weeks? Thanks.

So like, all the games on XBox Live's On Demand service, they're all seriously nerfed, graphics wise right? Like they are compressed or the resolution is hamstrung or something in order to compensate for a DVD game to become a >1 GB download?

I ask because the screenshots always look terrible, plus I vaguely remember this being a 'thing' years back. Microsoft used to post the resolution for games but the do this no longer. So I was wondering.

This is a problem I had initially with Metro 2033, appears to be common, though I don't know if anyone ever figured out what the problem actually was. It was suggested that it could be overheating, or perhaps a power supply unable to cope with the graphics card, or maybe just that the video card/processor is overclocked too much for the specific game. In my case the last suggestion seemed to be true, as I turned down my overclock settings for my graphics card (an HD Radeon 5870, for reference), and the problem went away.

So I suggest trying that, but if you don't have anything overclocked, then maybe you should make sure your power supply is outputting enough power. Otherwise it *could* be overheating, so monitor the temperature and see if it goes too high when your computer crashes.

If you're running XP I know there's a setting in the system advanced settings where you can tell it NOT to reboot in the event of a total system crash, but instead to give you the BSOD. Some crashes are so spectacular they just reboot the system. It won't prevent the crash, but it will probably tell you what dll or gfx driver file has failed.

Anyone good with Japanese PSN know if Kamen Rider Climax Heroes OOO for PSP is up for download? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Is there a easy way to get Halo 2 running on a windows 7 machine. Do I need to delete GFW Live? I have a XP machine also but its not good enough.

There is no difference that I could tell. I reviewed it on PS3 for a Playstation website and I have played it in on 360 at home. I do like it on PS3 better though :)

I'm buying Planescape from gog.com right now. Are there any mods that are absolutely essential? Any other advice would be welcome as well. Also, can I link P:T to my Steam account?

Edit: Apparently, you can link any game to your Steam account. Haven't tried it myself though.
It's just a short cut. You launch the game from Steam and get the overlay, that's it. edit: Oh and people see what you're playing, of course, but you can name the short cut anything, like Half-Life 2: Episode 3, someone will fall for it.

Planescape: Torment isn't even on Steam, so why would you be able to actually add it to your account?

As far as mods go:

You have to buy it separately. There's a thread on GAF where you can be added to the bottom of a swapping list, and you'll eventually get one mailed to you from a fellow GAFfer.

Yeah, I looked too and it isn't. Thought for sure it would be on GFWL, I'd like to play CE again.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just a casual PC gamer and I've never overclocked or even checked the video card temperature before, but I went into Catalyst Control Center of my Radeon 4850 as I was playing STALKER again this evening, and I saw I was getting temperatures of 109 and 110 after only playing about 10 minutes. Isn't that way too high? It didn't crash on me tonight though, and the case of my PC never got warm. Once I got out of the game, the temperature dropped to 84-85.

Anyway, am I pushing this 4850 to its limits? Would upgrading my video card help here?

So, this might seem like a weird question. But is this picture official art from Nintendo?

Obviously I don't think the "3DS NEWS" part is from official art. It is from TinyCartridge. Also, is there a higher rez picture of this?

Well, that depends whether the temperature you gave is Celsius or Fahrenheit. If it's Celsius you may well have a problem. But I can assure you that even if a graphics card isn't really good enough to play a game, the frame rate in the game may suck, but it should never crash your whole computer. That said, you should have no problems running STALKER with that card anyway, I believe.

Anyway, if you think the problem could be overheating, just try this first (bear with me, this is from memory so it might not be perfect): in Catalyst Control Center (make sure it's in advanced mode), go to the overdrive tab on the side (this is where you can overclock) and check the box that says "manual fan control," then turn the fan up, see if that solves the problem.

There's no way official art from Nintendo for 3DS would show someone wearing glasses. Glasses-free 3D is a huge selling point for them.

Sorry, it is Celsius, I just assumed that was the standard. I tried turning the fan up manually to 100%, but even so I still got up to 107 C in a few minutes playing STALKER. Anyway, the fan would already automatically spin up to 100%, so setting it there manually didn't make a difference.

So this card just seems to run hot, up to 110 C during the game and 84 C at idle. Any other suggestions?

edit: after googling a little, it looks like the first thing I should do is open the case and clean the dust off of the card. My house does get very dusty...I have a big dog. I'll try that...

edit2: I pulled the card out and there was a lot of dust on it. A whole lot of fine, talcum powder-like dust. I blew it all out and it's running much better now, low 80's C when I play the game, below 50 C when idling.

Yeah, that is what I thought. But I had to watch a product knowledge video at Toys R Us, and I swear I saw that image on the 3DS display they had set up at the Toys R Us they weere filming at.

Ah, that's good to hear. So did the crashing stop too?

Sorry, didn't think of dust; I open my computer a lot and I always use an air duster on it when I do, so I never really see much dust in there, guess it just didn't come to mind.

Also, Celcius probably is the standard, but I was just making sure cause you never know. I've seen people convert it with google to fahrenheit first so that they understand the temperature better (I do this myself actually, stupid US measurements), but then forget and leave it that way.

Does the Smash Bros. Brawl disc have a special coating similar to Blu-Rays? It doesn't appear to get any minor scratches from wiping unlike other Wii games.

I'm not sure about a special coating, but the Super Smash Bros. Brawl disc is different from most other Wii game discs in that it's dual layered. So maybe.

Recently I got into retro gaming, so I am buying and playing old PS one games on my PS2.

I was disappointed to find out that you cannot save PSone games on the PS2 memory card. my old PSone memory card is broken, I really don't want to buy one for 10-15 bucks. (If I don't have to).

Is it possible in any way (through a "hack" maybe?) to save PSone games on a PS2 memory card??

I cannot see how this could be at all possible unless somehow the use of the USB ports on the PS2 and a USB flashdrive is used someway to trick the PS2 in thinking that it's a (PSone) memory card?!?

Can someone please help, google search seems useless in this case.

I personally prefer Advance Wars Dual Strike over Days of Ruin. I've played Dual Strike through on hard a couple of times (after completing it on normal), and most of the bonus maps. I believe there are 30 something missions in the campaign, and around 50 maps in the war room, but it's been a pretty long time since I've played Dual Strike.

Days of Ruin may be longer, I'm not sure. I could never get into it. They changed the size of the sprite, or something like that. I can't remember exactly what it was, but after a handful of missions I was done. Days of Ruin also has more story/dialogue, which I don't really care for in my Advance Wars games (at least in the few missions I played).

Has anyone tried the Shin Megami Tensei MMO? And if so, how does it compare to other MMOs (F2P or not)?
A bunch of us played the closed beta, but I think only a few actually kept playing when it actually launched. At launch there was a severe lack of content and it's extremely grindy. If it wasn't designed around microtransactions it'd probably be quite fun. Both the battle system and the graphics compared very favorably to other MMORPGs at the time I played it.

The only way to save PSOne games on a PS2 is by using a PSOne memory card.

EricHasNoPull, if you're in the United States just PM me your shipping info & I'll send you an official Sony PSOne memory card for free.

Sidenote: In the PS2 browser, you can move a PSOne save from a PSOne memory card onto a PS2 memory card just for storage, but it cannot be accessed to load or save, only to store it. To become usable again, you need to move it back onto the PSOne memory card.

Man, what is with the hate for Jet Set Radio Future? I know how huge of a deal the original Jet Grind/Set Radio, but they are both subtly and drastically different games, and yet, both are god tier. Jet Grind Radio is more action game. Its like a 3D pac man. I do have to say I find the tagging and time limits bothersome and dampen the fun. Jet Set Radio Future, on the other hand, stands with the best of nonlinear 3D platformers. The connected, massive worlds with fantastic level design are unparalleled, and it avoids many of the problems with earlier nonlinear platformers. Now, Jet Set Radio Future is poor as an action game and the bosses and it quite easy, but these pale before the overwhelming good. Jet Grind Radio is a great action game, but the levels aren't as impressive, and sprawling. The controls are a tad wonky and the tagging is really unfun. Don't hate. They're both still god tier.
