This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Is there a thread to ask for game recommendations? If not then, I need a 3rd used game to pick up for Gamestops B2G1 free, around $20, for the 360. Already grabbing ME/ME2.

Vanquish, Enslaved, Fallout New Vegas, Borderlands, Bulletstorm, Splinter Cell Conviction.

Since the question has been ignored in the Vita thread, I've decided to ask it here. About the Japanese Amazon:

I've preordered the Vita in a local store and I'm now wondering about ordering the game, case and 16GB memory card from Japanese Amazon. The thing is, the release date of all that stuff is Saturday and you can't choose shipping any other than the basic one for this preorder. Did anyone have a similar situation with amazon.co.jp? I want to know if I'll get this stuff by/on Saturday or is it safer to just go around and try to buy it all at local stores.

Thinking about xmas here guys, is it possible to buy a Nintendo Wii Points Card from the UK and have it redeemed on a US Wii?

Never downloaded anything on the Wii so i'm embarrassingly clueless.

What's the name of the computer program that electronically organizes your console video game library, the Mac version I'm looking for

It's like a database of all your games, on all platforms, cover art pics...

Is there something wrong with gog.com at the moment? The site seems to be up but I keep getting "unable to connect"

EDIT: OK, now I have reason to believe it is actually down

I'm afraid I can't check the site here, but if you Google "down for everyone or just me", there is a useful little site that will help you find out.

Yeah I went through that process, I think the site just stuttered because it was down then up then down again, now it is fully up and running.

Do some 360 game saves have copy protection like PS3?

Because I want to upgrade my slim hard drive to 320 but if I can't just copy all game saves to a USB to transfer them easily I won't do it.

not really a stupid question, just don't think it needs it's own thread:

need a good PS3 (offline) co-op game. will accept almost anything, as long as it's good. gimme some ideas.

Does anyone know the certain letters and numbers that can be in an Xbox Live code? I had a file that listed them, but I can't seem to find it...

What happen to The Behemoth's followup to Castle Crashers, BattleBlock Theater? It seemed like it was going to be out in 2009, then it was delayed to 2010. Now it is almost 2012 and the game still isn't out. Their blog keeps posting new videos and hinting that an announcement will be made soon. Something they have been doing for almost 2 years now.

A friend and I are playing through Dungeon Siege co-op and I was looking to find a mod. It's called SoW Mini-Mod (sowminimod.zip). Maybe my Google-fu is weak, but I just can not find a working link to download it! If anyone has it or can please find a working download link of it, I'd love you forever.

So with the release of Skyrim and the inevitability of my laptop imploding on any attempt to run it I've decided to go back and play some of the earlier Elder Scrolls games that are easier to run. Currently I'm trying to set up Daggerfall, and while I know this can be done through DosBox I could have sworn I saw a post a little while ago where someone mentioned a fan made installer for the game. Trouble is I cant find it now.

Does anyone know more about this?

Edit: Oh sweet irony. Found the fan installer link on its Dosbox page.

Is there a good place that has a list of all the games that could/should be coming out in 2012? Either a thread here or somewhere online with a good list. The ones I have found seem to be missing some stuff.

I have quite a few older home consoles (Genesis, SNES, Dreamcast, and N64) and was wondering how I go about hooking these up to an HDTV? Also, what do older systems look like on an HDTV? Is it worth it or should I just keep an SDTV?

I have a question. I am considering buying the Xbox 360 Slim with 4 gigabyte. I only want to play Call of Duty: MW3 and perhaps some other games as well in the future. My old fat 360 (20gig) broke down a year ago and I still have a lot of games for that. Is it wise to buy a 360 Slim with only 4 gigabyte? I'm not going to rent video's, music and films and other stuff so...

Is it worth it to buy a Wii Remote Plus over the Wii Motion Plus?

I need one for Skyward Sword, does the dongle ad a lot of weight / make the controller more unwieldy?

I just got Mass Effect 2 for the PS3. Is all the DLC on the disc? Plus, the Cerberus Network isn't loading up on the left hand side even though I redeemed my code and download the file. Says its connected to the EA server but I let it sit idle and nothing really happens. When I played ME2 on my 360 and PC it loaded up fairly fast.

Over Christmas I'm going to have to keep some very young (<5 years old) kids entertained; I'd like to know how some games work with the extremely young. They're all girls, and the eldest at least is a very - for want of a better word - girly girl.

* What's the most accessible Mario Party available on Wii (so that'd include GC and VC)?
* Is Itadaki (/Fortune/Boom) Street accessible for the very young?
* Got any other gaming recommendations? Wii or PS2.

Mario kart wii/NSMB: Wii would be a good choice, played by anyone virtually no penilty for doing bad.

Well I have both and since I got the Wii Remote Plus I have not used the Wii Motion Plus at all. I prefer the shorter, more compact and lighter feel of the former.

It is bundled with some games; have you considered acquiring one that way?

I just grabbed myself a Wii Remote Plus at Best Buy for $19.99 (refurbished).

I already have a Wii Motion Plus + Regular Wii mote combo, but I just would prefer the more compact size of it being all in one unit.

Is the a reason why Raptr the gaming app only tracks 360 game time played because Live does this automatically and PSN doesn't track what you play?

I never even checked on Live site if they track gametime playing,I just know whenever I check Raptr app it shows exactly how long I played a 360 game but never PS3 games.

DLC on the disc:
-Shadow Broker (best DLC and awesome story that will play a role in ME3)
-Kasumi - Stolen Memory (loyality mission and new squad member)
-Project Overlord (long side quest)

Cerberus Network should work fine. It is a download after redeeming the code and will work after installing. The computer on the right (title screen) won't open on the PS3. As long as it says you are connected to EA server you should be fine. (When you go to Omega and find Zaeed, you know it is working!)

DLC you might want to consider:
-Arrival (mediocre DLC but huge story impact that will play a role in ME3)
-Firepower Pack (3 weapons: Heavy Pistol, Shotgun, Assault Rifle -> fun to use and effective)

All other DLC (only weapons and armor or Squad appearance packs) isn't worth it, IMO. (And I am a huge ME fan)

I bought the slim 4gb I bought the 250 slim HD eventually since it is much better to have games installed imo so the console lasts and the sound of that drive running off disk drives me nuts. The 4gb if you are a bit tight on money now is fine the slim hard drives will have more sales and be cheaper later since they are releasing even bigger ones if you decide to pick one up later.

Snap. Getting Wii Play Motion was just a bonus for me. Now I have two courtesy of Skyward Sword. So I now require a game that lets me use both at once and/or some friends who will play games with me *sniff*.

Any good deals on Dead Space 2 for PS3? I remember picking DS1 up in 2009 for $15 new a few months after release. Hoping for a similar deal this year.

Why does recovering a gamertag take ages? It's downloading about 10 MB of data, yet it takes 10 minutes to do, when it should take seconds.

What's a reasonable price to sell an Xbox 360 (non slim, pre-HDMI) for? My friend wants to purchase mine, and I have everything that came in the "pro" pack including the box.

edit: the hard drive is 20gb, by the way.

Vintage Stock.

I can get Lunar Legend for the GBA for $10.

I can get Lunar: SSSC for ps1 for $60.

Are the FMVs and voice acting really worth $50 extra? Is the GBA version playable, after having experienced the ps1 version back in the day?

Is there any way to tell which firmware comes on a PS3 disc?

I mean, without having to put it in your system? I want to buy Gay Tony, but not if the firmware on the disc is above 3.55.

Your system should have newer firmware than 3.55 on it anyway if you've played anything new recently.
