Here's a head scratcher...

I just bought a Gameboy Color which has a casing like this one:

And the screen border like this one:

So it's "Atomic Purple" but has Pokemon on the border of the screen. I'm going to try and get some information off the seller, but I can't find any evidence of this on the interwebs.

Does anyone know anything about it? I'll try take some pictures when it actually arrives.

I think I saw one on eBay once but I can't find the listing again, it was maybe a year ago.

going by this, that never existed. so i'm gonna assume someone just put stickers on an atomic purple GBC.

Dishonored is better suited for multiple playthroughs, so maybe Dishonored first, AssCreed3 next and Dishonored again?

If we're being completely honest here, there's a super small chance I'll actually play through it again. I almost never play through games more than one time. I wish I had that want, but I just don't find doing it enjoyable. Especially if it's a game with heavy story elements.

Which is longer?

I've played neither, but Assassin's Creed games are usually pretty long, and Dishonored I've heard is 10-15 hours.

I have minecraft on Xbox which I bought using my account. My sister has an account on the same console so she can still play minecraft and earn achievements etc?

It's not locked to my profile is it?

Thanks

Why the pause sound effect from Super Mario World nowhere to be found in every sound effect compilation for Super Mario World ?

Is this the case where the sound effect is the same as another like the mushroom/pipe from Super Mario Bros ?

There is an indie 2-player sword fighting game with pixel-ey 2d graphics that I'm trying to remember. Anyone know what that would be? I don't think it is out yet.

It is called Nidhogg :)

Can anyone let me know where to buy GB Micro faceplates? I got one out of storage with a huge scratch on the screen :/ Preferably UK shipping too, thanks

I have a Steam question. If I were to log onto my account on a friend's computer, would I be able to redownload one of my games and play it on his computer while I'm logged on? And if so, what would he be able to do to the game if I'm not not logged on?

If you log into your account elsewhere you have access to any games you own. If you're not logged in, they're inaccessible to him, regardless of whether they're installed or not.

You can't be logged on to Steam on more than one computer at once.

If you log on on his PC, all your games will be there, but you will have to install them on his PC in order to play them.

Thanks for the answers!

So I was wondering something today. You know how when playing old games on modern pc, one of the most common issue is that the game doesn't support Widescreen.

Of course you can stetch it but it always look terrible.

Why can't we force sidebars on a 4:3 resolution like you can do on TV?

I guess it's more of a monitor thing (and I'm sure that some models actually allows that) but it must be possible to that on the driver level no? Or maybe some kind of interceptor?

I would play my old games in 4:3 with sidebars over stretch any day.

All my 4:3 games appear with sidebars in my pc without doing anything. :/

Yeah your monitor most probably support that. Mine doesn't... It also screws up your second monitor when you go low res. In an ideal world I'd love to have a way to play any games in 1080p and if they are only 4:3 then windows adds the sidebars automatically.

You can also do it with ati cards too.

Need help locating a game for a friend.

Relatively new (like, a couple years ago at most), download only. Retro-style 8-bit pixel art graphics. A spear-wielding Roman or Greek guy, mix of platforming and combat, sidescroller. Pretty short, I think it was $7 on release. Can't think of the name.

Nah, it had pixel art, I was reminded of it when I saw that Ghosts n Goblins tribute game. Way too indie to be on Steam as well.

Annoys me to no end that I can't think of the name. >_>

I have an irrational fear that if I play a used game in my PS3 some damage or defect present on the disc may permanently damage my console. I purchased my console new and have only played new games. I do not like the idea of playing my games in friends' consoles, especially since they bought their consoles used and do not take great care of their consoles and games (and who knows how the previous owners treated the consoles). I recall playing Mortal Kombat after taking the game to a friend's house and the framerate was dropping considerably when running in my console. I ejected the disc and noticed smudges and dirty rings around the disc; the game ran perfectly after cleaning the disc, but I can only assume the dirt resulted from playing the game in my friend's console.

Is there any rational basis to this at all? Could a dirty or damaged disc harm my console? I'm finally addressing this problem as I'm searching for a reasonably priced sealed copy of Unreal Tournament III. With new copies selling at $40 compared to $3 used copies, the disparity is making me question whether or not my concerns are warranted.

I think the only way a disc could actually damage a console is if it shatters while spinning. This is a rather unlikely occurrence and a used disc wouldn't be any more likely to do it than a new one.

How come Hitman fans hold Hitman 2 in such high regard even though the game seems to have some terribly broken AI compared to Hitman Blood Money?

You can walk around like a normal person not doing anything suspicious and guards will start ripping your butthole apart with bullets.

Yup, I didn't like the AI when I played it last month (for the first time). Blood Money is much more forgiving, which I prefer.

This is kind of a parent-gaf / Windows 7 noob / Steam question.

Getting a PC soon and would like to make some of my library of games available to other user accounts on the same machine to be able to play. I'm guessing offline mode is the answer, for instance, under my kids account, she can just launch Crayon Physics Deluxe in offline mode. On my account, I assume I'd have to switch to offline mode each time I log out though.

I'm really not sure how this would work. I'd test it in the Mac Steam client, but that client is such a different animal that I don't think I'd discover anything conclusive.

Parent-GAF, do you have any suggestions?

Dunno if you can download each part separately, but MG 1 and 2 are included in MGS 3, so you should get them, yeah.

Are there any third-party wired 360 controllers that don't have the problem with the left stick where the character, or whatever it is you're controlling, get stuck moving left?

Looking to raise some funds for xmas.

Is it worth hanging onto GTA Trilogy for Xbox (PAL) for a few weeks longer or should I just chuck it on ebay now? Would I get more for it closer to GTA V's release?

I'm trying to remember an old NES game...

here's what I remember.

Similar to Jackal (top down view, advance through stages with boss fights) + River City Random (instead of jeeps from Jackal... you are 2 guys).

that is the extent of what I remember.... except one of the later stages was a minecart level.

Hmm.. Pretty vague I know.

Xenogears or Chrono Cross?

If I buy the Japanese version of Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, will I be able to play with friends online who have the US version?

I can't answer for that specific title, but I play my American versions of games with my brother's Korean versions of games. Halo, Call of Duty, etc. Considering I've played games with other regions, I'm sure its possible.

This might be a really stupid question, but if I bought some DLC on my Xbox 360 on my gamertag, could I use it with another on the same system? I seem to remember this being kosher with Halo 3 for some reason.
