Are there any US websites that will sell PC components and assemble the rig for you? I've heard that the NCISX does it, but NCSXUS (the US version) doesn't seem to have to option.

dear gaf,

I kind of got stuck in a big scary abandoned house and I'm typing from my phone.

What do I do now?

edit: I think this place is haunted.

Ok. So, what am I doing wrong then?
Sometimes people get demoted to a permanent junior status if they make stupid threads or repeatedly break the rules. If you think there has been a mistake, you could send a PM to the staff and ask for an explanation.

would it be possible to make a female clone of yourself if you simply removed the Y chromosome and then just duplicate X?
Yes. If you're lacking the sex-determining region on the Y chromosome, you become a women.

Can anyone tell me why my iPhone (4, if it makes a difference) has started prompting me for my voicemail password almost every time I unlock it? I don't even think I have a password anymore, or at least I haven't used it in a long time...

Is there a way in Firefox to stop the page from scrolling all over the place as images load? Sometimes I load a page and immediately scroll down to something relevant, but then the images keep loading and scrolling the page down so I have to either wait until they've all loaded or keep scrolling to keep my place.

I get the same thing.

The password is something extremely simple but I always forget. I called customer service and they removed it. It's a glitch of some kind that happens when the software updates.

I know this probably doesn't exist, but is there some sort of Planner/To-Do application for iPhone that syncs across a Mac or PC? PC syncing is preferable, as I primarily use a netbook for school, but I have a Mac for home use as well.

I am sending weaather ballon for a small university club. we want cheap tracking device and locatind device for it.

Does any one has any idea what will be the cheapest option. Budget is $100 or less. I can buy phone too that cost 100 or less if that has built in tracking device.

preferablly website based tracking or google map based.

Thanks.

I would love to know the same for Chrome.

Is there a way to hook up a laptop to an LCD T.V if the laptop does not have an HDMI port? Is there such thing as a USB to HDMI cord or a USB to HDMI port converter?

It only has USB ports? No vga, s-video, or anything else?

Yes. I have one. I got it from ebay.

Mailman-GAF-

This was brought up the the funny pictures thread. A troll-physics picture was posted which advised that when mailing a letter one should put their own address as the 'send to' address and the wanted recipient as the 'return' address. That way you could forgo adding postage stamps to the letter and the mail would presumably be returned to the 'return' address, which is actually the wanted recipient.

So what would be the protocol in a situation like this? Obviously it would be pretty suspicious if the 'return' address was in Florida and the letter was in a New York drop box. How about if both addresses were local?

Here are two questions I've wondered for a while:

1) Are there starving children in the Matrix? Do the robots actually deprive people of food or do they just let the person think they're dying of hunger?

2) Which Back to the Future movie is Michael J. Fox's favorite?

I am NOT high.

After thinking on this for a few minutes:

It seems like the machines let things go in the Matrix without interfering, so it stands to reason there'd be people who are starving.

Since you'd believe you are starving your self image inside the Matrix would reflect that. Eventually you'd die in the simulation because you think you have starved to death, even if your real world body is perfectly well fed through all the tubes. And dying in the simulation = dying in real life.

I don't know the names of any, but there are devices for parents to put on their kids wrist when they are at a park so they know where they are, might try something like that.

I'm trying to write an MS SQL script that runs a bunch of stored procedures so that I can see which ones spit up errors. I don't care about the data returned from them.

The problem is if one proc has an error, the script stops dead right there. I thought a try/catch might allow it to continue, but I'm getting syntax errors.

Code:
begin try
	exec dbo.spReportProc @Var1, @Var2
end try
begin catch
	--return something here
end catch

It just says "incorrect syntax" at the try line and the end line. I've never tried to use try/catch blocks in SQL before, so is there something I'm missing?

Edit: nvm, it doesn't stop the script after all :P

I just got a Nikon Coolpix P80 for $12 bucks. There are some issues with it so I'm looking for some advice. The first is that the LCD screen is destroyed. This seems like an easy enough repair for about $30. The other issue is that the lense appears to be damaged as photos come out hazy in the same areas of the frame of the picture. This leads me to believe that the lense is damaged. Should I attempt to repair this camera or should I just sell it for someone else to repair or use for parts. Thanks a bunch. If you guys like I can post a picture with the resulting haze so you can see it.

It's trash. Why do you think you got it for $12.
