This is true. The first person view tends to really disorient complete newcomers. My uncle kept running straight into the wall or looking at the floor.
 
Anybody know where I can find sales information regarding The Venture Bros.?
I'm trying to substantiate that it's an important and influential cartoon, but it's hard to find information (from a credible source) regarding units sold or money made.

This is true yeah, but there's a certain difficulty you just have to accept. If you can't traverse a 3D environment with two sticks, you can't play 'modern' video games. That sucks, but it's basically true I think. For any normal game standards, BioShock is a cake walk.

I've got a question that I don't think is too dumb, but isn't really thread worthy I guess.
I bought a cd off of half.com. The description of the cd claims it is pretty much new, but unsealed. The cd I got appears to be a promo cd that was sent out in advance to radio stations or something. Should I send it back or keep it? I'm not sure if I want the non-standard version of the CD. I'm not really sure how I feel about keeping this.
Here is the message I have typed up to the sender:
Good afternoon. I am unsure if there is a problem here or not actually. The item that I received from you appears to be a promo album that was advanced out, probably to radio stations or something. It says 'Self Titled Album Advance' and 'For Promotional Use Only' on the disc, as well as 'CD's Burned & Printed By: Gorilla Print Inc.' The disc is in a jewel case, not a digipak as the description stated. Like I said before, this leads me to believe it was a promo disc sent out to radio stations, given to group member's, etc. From the item description, it appeared as if I was going to be getting a standard CD, like one released in the store.
Now the issue that I have is that there is limited information on the internet about 'Iller Than Theirs.' I am not sure if this is the only version of their album that is out or if there was a version that the record label released that is different. It does appear on EmbeddedMusic.net that they released their album in stores in Oct 2007. I do not know if it is preferable to have this copy over a regular copy of the disc; I would assume a promo copy is probably rarer.
So I am just asking if you have any answers to the things I am wondering about. If maybe there is a different digipak'd copy released by the label out there and this one was sent to me by mistake. Or maybe if to your knowledge this is the only version of the disc that exists. It does appear on EmbeddedMusic.net that they released their album in stores in Oct 2007.
I am not really sure what I am asking, as like I said before, I am unsure of whether there is a problem or not. Was this promo copy the item you meant to sell me? Was there a mix up? To your knowledge, do I want this copy more than the other version?

What do you guys think? I'm not too upset or anything. I was just under the impression that I was getting a studio-released album and got some cd that they burned to give out to people. It's still got the same songs on it and everything.

They completely redesigned the way stories are submitted and the algorithm to promote stories to the front page.

They were trying to prevent groups of users mass-burying or mass-digging stories. However, the new algorithm basically makes it so that mega-media sites (mashable, nytimes, etc) are the new power users. They auto-submit their own content and digg users only see their stuff because you have to subscribe to a user to see their submitted stories. People really only subscribe to users (sites) they've already heard of, so digg is now just a bunch of mainstream crap.

That's happened to me before and I got a partial refund negotiated with the seller. It's probably the same cd but if I buy a cd I want the inserts and packaging. Otherwise I might as well buy the mp3s and burn it to cd.
 
Is it just me or Gaf is VERY slow since the new avatar rule? It takes a lot of time just to load a page, and I often have a Server Error page coming up. It's not my connection, since every other site I visit works perfectly fine.

It's not a huge deal obviously. But I could have gotten a CD-RW and spent some time online and gotten the same item for nothing. I wanted to purchase the legit CD.

Yeah, everything's pretty slow and I'm getting unresponsive pages, which is weird as shit. Never had that happen before, I have to kill chrome whenever I load an especially long thread.

If it's not just me I guess someone should let an admin know.
 
GAF been fucking weird for anyone else today? Pages keep half loading, and firefox has crashed twice in the past hour.

The problem is that Intel Graphics part. You've got all the memory and the features you need, but you don't have the raw speed. Intel graphic chipsets are not really meant for bigtime full screen 3D. You might be able to run it in low detail at a low resolution. Source games are notoriously scalable. But it will look bad.

If you're on a desktop, look into a cheap graphics card upgrade. Something like a Radeon 5770 or a Geforce GTS 450 should be pretty affordable and fairly competent.
 
I don't go to pubs much, or even drink really. I keep noticing, in films, a green drink on the counter. What the hell is that? It is so green, it looks like something from the Star Wars cantina. Greener than absinthe for sure.

The GAF slowdown yesterday was mostly related to Google's ad-related AJAX stuff acting up; at least that's what my research indicates. Had issues on other sites as well. Edit: Might also have been the custom search snippet.

Greener than absinthe, but still not as green as what I'm seeing. Although it might be that. I can't imagine anyone drinking that straight, it sounds awful.

Well, that Midori is mainly used in cocktails. Only other green liquor I know of is Chartreuse:
