I just started using tversity in an effort to watch giantbomb videos on my 360 connected to my living room.

When I try to add the feed it says "Failed to process or content source may be unsupported, upgrading to Pro will enable support for premium web content and may fix this problem"

I'm a subscriber to Whiskey Media, but I didn't think the rss feed was a member feature. Anyways, the rss feed url I was using was:

http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/feed/low/5/

Which is the low quality feed of the endurance run.

I just started using tversity so I am not an expert at this, am I doing something wrong? I just want to stream giantbomb to a television in my house someone please help me.

Need an external HDD before I reformat my computer. I looked it up on Amazon and I know nothing about brands for this sort of thing. This was the first result for a 1TB HDD at 70 bucks:

Is this a fine option? Couldn't find a recent thread via Google, so I thought I'd ask here. Don't really need a TB, but I figure I might as well grab that since I don't save much going lower. Might be useful in the future though, since I've been considering ripping a number of non-HD console games for HD playing and movies and setting up a tower in the living room.
 
What's a good, affordable battery backup? I'm tired of my power always going out. I need something so I can have time to turn my computer off when it goes out.

The groom has flat out stated he'll leave if we get strippers. IMO my friends should NEVER have told him in the first place they were planning on getting them. I called out one friend on this and now he's pissed at me. WHY would you tell him I don't know.

Now that he knows, me and 3 others are against strippers because he flat out said he didn't want them. About 6 or so others still want to do it because that's "what happens at bachelor parties" basically. They say it isn't his decision.

Groom has never been to a strip club in his life.

What do you guys think?

Why do you think telling/not telling him would have mattered? I feel the same way as the groom and I probably would've bailed if my friends had surprised me with strippers. One, they don't really turn me on (some are downright saddening) and two, I feel it's insulting to my wife, then fiance. If your friend thinks so, too, why would you mess with his night?

Anyone know of a site that has these along with the original creepypastas they're based on? I can find lots of threads of one or the other, but I'm looking for a place with the originals and corresponding Russian versions.
 
I get songs sometimes that have comments hard embedded into the "lyrics" section. How to I get rid of these? Sometimes I can paste over them, and while it shows my lyrics in itunes, my ipod still see's the comments.

That's odd. Is there any text in the "Comments" box under the Info tab for the song?
 
I get rid of those if it's the same thing, sometimes I keep the information in the comments box though if it relates. But that never affects the lyrics section. I tried that : / I like having full lyrics to my stuff because I don't know Japanese yet
 
should I be worrying about temperatures in my laptop: I have not overclocked, and games run at a consistent 40-50fps. The fact that they run alright, does that mean I can't stress my laptop while playing games thus eliminating any worries of temperatures during gaming (on a normal surface etc), or do I need to check individual (high end) games for different temperatures. I'm sually at 75-80C.
 
Ok this has been driving me crazy for the last week and I have been getting very frustrated trying to fix it.

When I used to open music in VLC it would come up in the playlist view with the function buttons such as play pause at the bottom of the screen.

Whenever I play music now it comes up in the Album artwork view. As far as i remember I have not changed any settings.

I can go right click > view > docked playlist to get a view similar to that I had before but it comes up in a seperate window so I have two VLC icons open and it does not have the controls such as play, pause etc at the bottom.

I just want to make it like I had before, have gone through all the options and cannot find a way to fix it. Even tried reseting preferences and no luck.
 
So I have this dvd that skips like 5 minutes every time due to a scratch and I'm wondering if the any of those techniques to remove scratches work, anyone got any experience in this?

It's next to the play button. 4th button from the left, it looks like the list button in Word.
 
Hey! ANother dumb question. I do know how/traceroute works but I feel like I can't understand the way the TTL is calculated

Normally TTL is reduced at each hop forward. So when I trace route to google.com as below:



It will send a packet with a TTL of 1, then obviously the 1st hop will decrease it and then send back an error msg i.e the IP (header) address of the failed hop, or will the 2nd hop send back the error msg?

Secondly, if it takes 11 packets to get to Google.com, it means it has send 11 packets when it hits the targeted IP? Or is the last one counted as 12?

The 1st hop. When a participant receives a packet with TTL 1, he drops it and sends ICMP 0 or 1 to the sender. The sender in turn altogether sends enough packets with an increasing TTL to reach the target.

When the target gets a packet with TTL 1, he responds with ICMP echo something. So the last TTL started with 11. Here's the TTLs for the last packet:
(Sender) 0: Receives nothing, sends 11
1: Receives 11, sends 10
2: Receives 10, sends 9
3: Receives 9, sends 8
4: Receives 8, sends 7
5: Receives 7, sends 6
6: Receives 6, sends 5
7: Receives 5, sends 4
8: Receives 4, sends 3
9: Receives 3, sends 2
10: Receives 2, sends 1
(Target) 11: Receives 1, sends ICMP echo

Nup when I click that it brings up the playlist view as a seperate new window. So if I do that I have the artwork view open with the play pause timeline etc controls at the bottom and then also a playlist in a seperate window without any controls.

And if i close the album play view VLC closes down completely.

Possibly helps people track referring links so if you ran Nyan.cat you would know people visited from Facebook. Not sure if you can track this regardless of the actual link text, though.
 
i've got a rapidshare account with 945 rapids left, but somehow it didn't renew my rapid pro and i can't find the button (if there is one) for renewing
what gives?

It's for tracking on Facebook's end. The target site should be able to track the referral without it.

As others have said, one reason is so that Facebook can track what links people are clicking on. They use this for overall statistics, but also to tailor your newsfeed to your personal likes.

Another reason they do this is to try and stop malware sites from spreading links through Facebook. This way, if Facebook is alerted that a link is malicious, it is really easy to stop people from visiting it.
 
Why are American locks "upside-down"? (Maybe in other countries too, only know this from the movies)

In Germany the sharp edges of the key are pointing to the ground when you insert it in the lock:
