Is it possible to tell my wife, "yeah I'm going on a road trip to the middle of nowhere by myself this weekend because I'm sick of people" and not have her feel offended

Everyone needs a little me time... you know?
 
So I created a recipe that calls for 2 wt oz of lemon zest. How many lemons will I need? I'm guessing half a dozen. I guess if that's too many, then life has given me lemons and I might as well just make some lemonade out of em.

Sometimes having the Junior Member tag means a mod took away part of your posting privileges, meaning you can't post new threads, only reply on them (this usually happens when you make 1 or more really shitty threads). When you see a member with more than the required amount of posts but still being a junior, that's the case.

Annihilator, if you get to 200 posts and you're still a junior, don't fret, I'm under the impression that the minimum posts required number was raised some time ago (maybe to 300) and the FAQ was not updated.
 
Hey guys, great to be here. This is a fine idea for a thread, so thanks for making it! :D

Got a problem with the aux input on the face unit of my car stereo. It sucks because that's how I have my ipod hooked up and it has become very touchy. Just got a new wire and the ipod is fine w/ earphones, so I've ruled those out as the source of the issue. Sometimes I get half sound, sometimes I get none...I can get it to connect just right by moving the wire slightly or turning the connector in the input a bit. Is this fixable in any way or should I just look into replacing the whole system? Or should I try to find a replacement face unit? The system is a few years old and made by Sony (I know...).

Any help would be much appreciated. This is making my drives a much more unpleasant experience.

why do jewish people always walk in the street on holidays when going to synagague. It is so freaking annoying, I've almost run them over so many times at night as I turn a corner and their walking in the street. Is it to show the non jews they own the world or something? I've asked jewish people and they don't know or want to tell me.

They're commemorating the time when the Nazi Nuremberg laws attempted to restrict Jewish rights and freedoms, such as forcing them to only use certain roads or parts of a street.

I thought it was because certain interpretations count driving a car as "work", which Jews don't do on the Sabbath.
 
okay, so i want my desktop wall paper to be higher rez (1280x1024) but I dont want all my icons and everything else to shrink. Im accustomed to a much lower res so when i turn it up to adjust to wallpapers, all my fonts, icons, and graphics get really small.

Is there anything I can do? And how do I do it?

In Vista go to Control Panel -> Personalize -> Window Color and Appearance. From there it will show the various color schemes. Go to Advanced and it will let you tinker with a lot of specifics. You can choose "Icon" and change the size of the icon itself on the top, and the size of the fonts that go with it below it.

Wallpaper I wouldn't think would be a big deal; isn't stretching the image to fill the screen regardless of resolution the default? Anyway, go to where you change the background and that should be an option if that's not how it's currently set.

You know what would be cool? If they made glasses for blind people that had a spycam embedded in it, and then have an ear piece in one ear, and whenever the camera detected text it would convert it with text-to-speech through the earpiece.

Usually a loose connection on the aux plug to the hardware. It happens all the time on phones and iPods when the plugs get flexed around in a pocket when sitting down or something.
 
Who's sprsk? I noticed he wrote a lot. if not all, the FAQ. Was he a mod who got demoted? Or someone who just really loves GAF and wanted to write the FAQ?

Also, who owns GAF? Or, whose the highest powered staff memeber?

Sp0rsk was a mod who got demoted for publically announcing his hatred of the new GAF layout (by m0dus) I think, which is kind of funny because we still haven't seen anything of the new layout. I remember he said it looked like shit or something, then his next post was just "lol" and his name was in blue :(

How come when I want to copy and paste something in Windows, and it looks like this:

and I want to only select:

for whatver reason, it ALWAYS selects the other '/'.

I friggin hate it!

What causes TV's to making a random popping/shifting weight noise, usually at night when you are trying to sleep. Im sure you have all heard the sound im talking about.

That always startles me! I assumed it was from the plastic contracting around the "seams" and areas with screws in it after expanding from the heat of being on.

Good question. How does that work exactly? When I first heard of it, I thought it was fake and porn directors used tricks or piss or something to make it look like an ejaculation. But is it real? How does it happen? Can any woman do it?
