GAF - How the fuck do I use CSS on my website to have the background image stationary and the text scroll. I used to know how to do this with HTML but can't figure it out.

Currently I have:

Cubase (Probably a better option then Nuendo, especially if not doing post production / video)

Ableton Live (Fairly easy to get started I'd say)

Nuendo (It's on Windows as well)

Reason (Self contained, limited in someways because of that, but still not limited at all, can then 'rewire' it into other apps as well.

I'm 32 and one of my best friends is a 11 years old boy. I visit him almost daily to play Wii and DS.

Now I heard that ppl started talking about me. Apparently they think I am, and I quote, a "creepy wierdo"

You play video games with him? I think you're fine. Just make sure his parents know what's going on and if someone asks, tell them you're his uncle or something like that. People nowadays are so afraid of child molester and such things, they see one in every adult who dares to go near children who are not his own.

I'm good friend with his parents too, so I dunno what the fuck people are thinking.

I remember first time I was playing DS with him in an ice cream parlor. i was wearing my pokemon shirt. The waitress seriously thought I was mentally handicapped. She treated me like a baby("one ice cream for the young gentleman and one for his brother(me)" "you take care of your older brother, right? good boy") till I told her that I was pretty normal, not his brother but friend and she should shut up and stop acting like a dumbass.

good thing I have a pretty thick skin.

I know his parents for a long time and him since he was pretty much a baby. Once he got interested in videogames(with around 8 years) I started to visit him, take him out for ice cream, playing Wii and DS and stuff

i clicked on the gaming one today for the first time ever and realised they were doing some non gaming related shit... i just figured you could stunt your new shit, whatever it is, on gaf

It is kind of unusual that you define your relationship with him as "best friend." Considering that best friends usually share similar life experiences and there is a mutual dependence. You ask your best friend for their opinions on important life matters because you are widely similar however he/she may view things slightly different, in ways you would not have initially.

I agree with an above poster that you shouldn't call him your best friend, instead an uncle or something similar. You can play an important role in his life as a mentor/role model, but best friend should be something reserved for his school mates.

well, I said "one of my best friends" not "the best friend"
and he really is. it's not that we only play videogames together. we also have long talking sessions in between which, I know , sounds weird cause he is only 11 but he is astoundingly mature for his age.
Of course my other "best friends" are older(same age as me) and we do stuff(drinking etc) which i can't do with him but it doesn't change the fact that I see him as one of my best friends. It's just an entirely different "best friend" relationship compared to the normal ones.

I don't have anything to edit audio. Can someone give me the mp3 version of this from 0:47 to about 1:03? I am normally hygienic, but I didn't grow up with the habit of brushing as often as I should, so I need some kind of alarm :(
 
Anyone remember a really old flash game from like the late 90's/early 00's where you are a DJ and you perform at parties/clubs and there are like a variety of discs you can put on the turntable?

I don't remember the actual gameplay but it was fun for me (I was young) and I remember the records being different colors depending on the genre (like purple for one, orange for another).

I know my description isn't really helpful, but it was on the same website as this breakdancing game, where you use the keyboard to perform the moves, and you get better moves as you progress.
 
a question I always pondered about: where do white people get their hair cuts? a franchise barbershop or the white equivilant to a black barbershop (do those even exists?)

If it's a headphone input, probably not as it tends to mute the built-in TV speakers. There may, however, be a setting on your TV to allow that, but I doubt it.

If it's an AUX output, then yes.

Maybe it depends on your television, but when I put headphones in mine, it doesn't mute the built-in speakers, which is actually kind of annoying.
 
I'm trying to find out a little more about music the individual members of the Beatles produced for other artists, such as Harrison producing Jackie Lomax's album Is This What You Want? or McCartney with Mary Hopkin's first album and early singles.

Anyone either know where I can find out about this stuff or just happen to know about themselves? Wikipedia is falling very hard.

Well the one I went to was one room with a barber chair in the center and a mirror in front of it with a counter full of haircutting stuff below (barbicide, scissors, combs, towels, etc). To the left of the chair was a row of seats for men waiting their turn. And behind the chair was a coat rack and a collection of magazines and comic books.
 
What's the time limit for editing posts without a timestamp appearing? Because I've done it ~4 or 5 minutes afterwards and not had a timestamp appear, but I see other people's posts with timestamps in the 1-3 minute range.

I have another question, I'm going to post it in the OS X thread too.

I have a TS file that is over four gig, I want to split it up by a specific time reference on OS X. If I have to do it on Windows I can, but it's more of a hassle. Anyone know of a piece of software that can help me?

Ok guys , i have gave up coffee, what good will this do me ?

better mood ect , so far i always just feel layed back , its like i'm high when i'm sober cause i was so used to the coffee buzz always in my system.
