Don't all HDTVs (1080p) have the same number of pixels regardless of size? If this is true, isn't the picture quality of a 46 inch TV the same as a 64 inch TV only with the pixels smaller/closer together? Furthermore, Doesn't increasing the size of the TV only increase the best viewable distance one could watch said TV from? Thank you.
1080 describes the number of vertical pixels. All 1080p TVs have 2073600 pixels. This means that the bigger the TV is the bigger each individual pixel is, which in turn means that you increase viewing distance to compensate for increased pixel size.

Why/How did the US military get so effing ridiculously powerful? Reading the Wiki articles related to it just blows my mind how much we outclass everyone else.
Getting involved in the Korean and Vietnam wars during the containment era resulted in huge increases to military budget that has never really gone down since.

It will change once the economy crashes, though.

When Michael Scott says "Acting!" really dramatically, is that a reference to something?

It's a reference to Jon Lovitz and (I believe) a character he did on SNL. Can't find any clips on Youtube though, I think they're all copyrighted.

What's the name of that song in that commercial? It's a woman singing all jazzy, like

DAHB DAHB DAHB DAHB DAHB DAHB DOO BEE
DAHB DAHB DAHB DAHB DAHB DOO BEE DOO BEE

but with lyrics, I guess.

So I'm going to Japan next month, and found this cool interactive route map from my airline, and uh, are international flights allowed to go inside North Korean airspace? Figured they would be the one country in the world who would object to this.

Not that I'm bothered (unless Kim-Jong Il shoots me down mid-air). Just genuinly interested.

I believe N. Korea opened it's airspace to international flights in '98.

I'd say it's pretty badass... It slices the head off of any bug it catches before eating it
My friend had a pet mantis and one day we let it loose in the cricket bucket. The dude just kept killing. He would have one in his mouth, slash another cricket, pull that to his mouth, old one falling to ground. Over and over again until there were dead, partially eaten crickets everywhere, and I told my friend he should take it out before he explodes.

Eeeek. I think that would freak me out too.
Unnecessarily of course.

Can I bring alcohol to a military cemetery? I want to pour a Guinness for my buddy and drink one with him too.
If that was somehow not allowed, I feel like it would make the evening news. It's quite moving, if you're serious.

Yeah that's it! Thanks very much guys. That's really from Phoenix Wright? Wow!
I can't listen to the specific version, but they did do Orchestra and Jazz arrangement albums of the music of the Ace Attorney series. I'm assuming the one in the video is probably the jazz one.

So yes, it is wonderful!

I'm sure this has been asked before but...

When I click "go to last post" on certain threads why am I sometimes taken to the penultimate page? I'm on Chrome with minimal extensions if that's relevant. And it happens in Gaming and OT.

i've got a kinda big cut, but i don't want to get stitches, but having shit wrapped around my hand is detrimental to my job. i'm going to the drug store right now to pick up some of that 'liquid bandage' crap but i'm also going to buy some superglue.

how safe is it to use superglue to close up cuts/wounds?
Is using glue to close up a wound a well known thing? I would have thought glue would be one of the last things you want getting inside a wound.

it's "safe" but not ideal

you'll end with a nasty scar, but it's a quick way to stop a wound and forget out it

how big is the injury?

Get some Witch Hazel and gause from a drug store. As long as it isn't a huge gash all you have to do is put Witch Hazel on it and wrap it with gause and it should be sealed enough to not need gause in a short amount of time.

I have a good article for the Germany or Florida game. I think you guys throw in australia though. How do I set up a post?

The medical oriented stuff is basically just the same thing as regular super glue. The regular kind is sometimes a methylated variety of cyanoacrylate which isn't strictly a great thing to get in your blood but you're dealing with such a small amount that it really doesn't make a difference.

Honestly, you can go as far as just filling a wound with the stuff and it'll work great for stopping bleeding, though you should at least try to pull the edges together and ideally, deep cuts should be sutured, of course.

What was that webcomic that people were posting back around 2006... it had to do with a moose or something in space. I think it was videogame related, and all the comics ended with him fucking something weird and making weird jokes. Anyone have any idea what the hell I'm talking about? I'm sure the mods know what I'm talking about... haha

edit: I guess it was Space Moose.

your best friend not only forgets your birthday, but doesn't make any contact with you whatsoever for the entire day
how pissed off are you allowed to get and how long are you allowed to hold this against them?

(yesterday was my birthday)

If we're talking about me in this hypothetical, probably not very pissed. I forget my own birthday half the time, these days. If I'm not keeping tight track of the date, I generally only realize it when my mom calls me about it.

But if you want to be optimistic, maybe he's setting up a surprise party or something.

Probably because in between you loading the main topic page and clicking 'last page' people have posted on to the next page in the thread, while the link on the topic page still points to the second-last.

I have plumbed in a new dishwasher and it is working to an extent. Unfortunately, I have a small (drip, drip, drip) leak where the outlet from the dishwasher connects to my main waste pipe. What is my best option to seal around the joint to fix the minor leak?
