That's the cat, by the way.[/QUOTE]
My experience with cats are that they live 17-20 years. Granted, I've only known about 3 cats that died of old age, but your cat probably has some years left, if it is healthy.

I've tried changing the font size options in Firefox, but it has no affect, and I don't see any options under User CP. I need to stretch my browser window to 80% of my monitor screen to get thread titles showing on one line. I didn't have this issue on my older PC. How can I change this? Am I missing something obvious?
CD-R - CD-R, or CD Recordable, drives allow you to do everything that a standard CD-ROM is capable of doing with the added ability of creating your own CDs. An excellent solution for anyone that is in need of a CD-ROM / backup solution. Tips on buying these drives is found on this page.Misanthropy said:This might be really dumb but I'll ask anyway. When I burn a cd it takes up space, but when i delete what I burned on the cd it doesn't give it back. It still shows the space as being occupied on the cd even though when I go into the cd directory there is nothing in there. Have I missed something in computers 101? And is there any way I can get that space back?
Ah, much better. Thank you kindly.MrBig said:You're probably zoomed in. Press Ctrl+0

Do people actually shift gears when they bike? Back when I had a mountain bike I would just keep it at one speed (left at 2, right at 6).

Yes there are usb optical drives, look on newegg. I'm not familiar with that price range so I can't help you with the computer though.scar tissue said:Gaf, I'm looking for a new laptop.
criteria:
- price should be under $500
- smaller than 12"
- must have every feature a normal pc has (e.g. macbook air has no optical drive and is thus worthless)
- windows 7
- trackpad (i hate touchpads)
edit: ideapads don't have an optical drive
ugh
but i'm not sure i even need one...save for burning cds, i never use mine
is there such a thing as a USB optical drive if i do need one once in a while?
I'd always recommend switching back to PC. If you buy from pretty much any of the better vendors (assuming laptop) you'll get hardware that is much cheaper, better, and longer lasting. My laptop from 2008 ($1300) is still outperforming current gen macs, and is still able to play just about any games I want on high (even crysis 1/2). I'd go to HP and build one to you specifications though, since their batteries last the longest in my experience (~6-7 years on my old one and it can still maintain a charge for about an hour browsing the web)Hausmeister said:I have an tech / upgrade problem, too. What should I get?
- Macbook Pro (my battery is dying slowly (I have a 2009 MBP)
- iMac (additional to my MBP, some more hardware power)
- PC (cheap, better hardware as the former 2, can play games on it, but I have all console + this hasn't OSX, it's loud and uses a lot of space)

I've been trying, but it doesn't seem to be working right for me.
Edit: Or I guess to be more specific, how do I avatar quote someone whose avatar is saved on GAF?
Oh ok.Zoe said:You need to rehost the image.

Too much work for an avatar quote that no one would have loved at anyway.
