Ok thanks. Spam in my YouTube inbox... I guess it was bound to happen eventually.
I mean, I've been getting it for five years and I haven't even uploaded any videos. There's a lot of spam accounts on there.

Only way to do it without a script or plug-in.

What the hell did "Relax with Trudi" mean? See: Adorable Adrian Adonis.

Also, can anyone use their awesome Internet skills to find a legible picture of the briefcase with "Relax with Trudi" on it?

Stupid question, and one I'm not ordinarily moved to ask, but I notice CHEEZMO is banned. Why, perchance ?
I believe its because he was posting pictures of hot women w/ big butts in the thread where the guy was asking how he can get his girlfriend to have a bigger butt. The mod warned everyone to stop posting those type of pictures but cheezmo kept going.

He actually only posted two pics, both of which were before any mod said to stop.

I do that, but i thought there was a one button multi quote function. It´s less cumbersome that way :P

Dear lawyergaf ... and the rest of you.

How, as a complete upstanding citizen, am I to remain within the law when I don't actually know 90% of them?

Am I really the only one getting these Flash crashes? It's making browsing NeoGAF really annoying. In particular I notice it most on some sort of GMC ad.

"Even though it would be impossible, even for someone with substantial legal training, to be aware of every law in operation in every aspect of a state's activities, this is the price paid to ensure that willful blindness cannot become the basis of exculpation."

And, "...although ignorance may not clear a defendant of guilt, it can be a consideration in sentencing, particularly where the law is unclear or the defendant sought advice from law enforcement or regulatory officials."

Chrome seems to be messing up when I try to go to the last unread post in a thread in my subscriptions. Any fixes for this?

I've heard that most of the actors in gay porn are straight, actually.

There are a lot of "gay for pay" videos out there. Do you mean actors in Hollywood movies that do gay porn? I don't know of any really. I know that Simon Rex, one of the leads from Scary Movie 3, did gay porn. I don't know of any others. :p

Do you think it's more important for non english speakers that are learning to learn "proper" english or "conversational" english? I'd lean more toward proper simply because I've seen idiocracy.... But does teaching proper english put up roadblocks when they try to converse with native speakers?

Why do you mean by proper and conversational?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a political/news podcast. Something in the vein of Tested or Giantbomb but with politics? Where they have weekly discussions on top stories.

I feel stupid for even having to ask this but I deleted a bunch of mp3 files by accident and now I'm trying to restore them to the folder but I can't find my recycle bin (I'm using Vista). How do I get them back? And where the hell is the friggin recycle bin?!

If you open windows explorer (windows key + e) it should be in the left hand side navigation window.

i know there's an option to restore recycle bin to your desktop let me poke around for it for a minute.

Maklershed said:
Ah there it is. Thanks!

No problem. Okay so if you go into the control panel and click on "personalization" there should be an option on the left hand side called "Change desktop icons" where you can put the bin back on your desktop if you so desire.

How does Make-an-offer on ebay work? I made an offer on an item yesterday, and it was immediately accepted and I saved 10%. How is it automated? Surely the seller needs to consider the offer...?

If someone is looking to get into recreational ice hockey, how much should they be spending on ice skates? Growing up hockey never really existed around here. Found out that there's a rec league that plays in the fall though and would like to learn how to play. Pretty wide price range of skates and not sure how much people spend on their skates getting into the sport for rec/fun. It's a rec league so I recognize I don't need really expensive skates, I just don't want to buy the lowest end model of a line and have them fall apart in a few months. Any idea/suggestions on what I should be looking at?

Damn, two questions today gone unanswered. Doesn't reassure me mine will be anytime soon... Anyway, here it goes, pretty stupid/simple:

I have my laptop connected via HDMI to my VIZIO HDTV, and I have an optic fiber cable connected to the Digital Audio Output which in turn is connected to my home theater DA-in... yet there's no sound. I have my home theater in the proper channel. I used to do the same with my PS3, but with analog, before i got the fiber optics. Point is, I know HDMI carries sound signal, so I don't know why the TV is not outputting it this time around, even though if I raise my TV's volume there's the laptop's sound. Help, please.

The seller can usually set a price they deem acceptable. If you bid over that price, it's automatically accepted.

Language shifts constantly over time. Formal and colloquial will be very different in 50 years.
I'd say it depends on what your goals are. If you're working white collar, you need formal language skills; otherwise they may not be necessary.
As for teaching English, both are necessary though formal more so.

What's your question here? You said your laptop has no sound, but then said your tv volume controls the sound.

Anyway, try the usual stuff: eliminate variables.

Hook directly via HDMI to the tv to make sure it's working.
Then hook up your sound system to something else and make sure it's working.
Then hook your sound system up to your laptop and see what happens.

My mom was using her computer and she must have accidentally pressed some weird button combination, so now when you try to type on it every button is now a shortcut button. How do I resolve this issue Gaf? It is a windows 7 home premium OS. When I try to type in the problem into google it mostly comes up with how to do different shortcuts.

My laptop has sound, so does my TV, but the TV isn't outputting through its OUT channels. It has two HDMI ports at the back, one which I'm using for the blu-ray and other for DirecTV, so every time I plug in the computer (which has no other output but HDMI) I unplug the BR player. I assume that the TV is supposed to output the sound is receiving through its HDMI ports, and change every time I switch sources (TV, HDMI1, HDMI2, etc...)

I've done those things you mentioned, and I've come to the conclusion that its got to be a problem with the TV not outputting. Up until now I've been streaming the sound straight from the boxes to the home theater, and only image (HDMI) to the TV. It's a waste that I have to use stereo analog cables (because neither the blu ray nor the directv box come with digital audio out) and lose all the sound quality that all blu ray, HDMI and Digital Sound provide, just because I can't figure out what's wrong with my TV's outputs.

EDIT: Well I just figured out that the Digital Sound/Optical Output is only active when the DTV/TV Cable/Antenna is being used. Sigh...

Still, no luck with the two analog output options. There's a stereo red/white output on the far side of the back of the TV, and another at the side of the HDMI-ins. Neither of these seem to be outputting sound. What the fucking fuck.

How do I find what posts I've made? I can never remember what thread or what page I've posted on.

I installed the user highlighter chrome extension, but that doesn't highlight threads.

The "find all posts by Jagxyz" button doesn't work either.

thanks!

Just to be clear, this doesn't work for anyone because it's part of the internal search function and that's disabled. What MrBig said is the best option.

Do you mean it's as though the Ctrl button is permanently active? i.e. pressing simply 'v' pastes text. Also, does it behave the same if you type with the on-screen keyboard?
(Assuming Run > osk.exe is not possible: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Ease of Access)

Are you sure the red/white plugs are supposed to be outputs on the TV?

Usually if you want analogue out it's through the headphone jack.

what the heck, and here this thread is. Error in the Matrix? Anyway:

What is the general stance on waiting for a girl that is currently too young to be together with legally? Is it creepy? Okay?

Don't do it. The short term benefits of whatever sexual interest will not outweigh the stresses you'll have to face from peers, both on her side and your side. They may not say it, but people will judge you on it, even if you both perfectly in love.

I've seen a lot of guys in my college do this with high school girls, and they ALWAYS come across as sleazy pedophiles. It's just the way our culture is.

Date women your own age, it's simply so much easier.

Comic book people please enlighten me. What are the possible enemies the Avengers are gonna fight in the movie? All of the superheroes on their own fight their respective high-level bad guys in their respective films, what kind of ultimate megavillains exist in the comic book world that would justify the need for them to team up?

Roller-coaster/Fair ride question here.

I have a weirdly profound interest in the workings of fairground rides and roller-coasters so are there any sites out there that show videos of how they're built, controlled, maintained and other little triva bits? Videos would be amazing too.

There a few out there for roller coasters (I've seen the one of them building kingda ka) but anything will do.

No, more like she´s nearly 16, I´m 25. But as long as it´s legal, that´s not the problem imo. I was rather talking about the "waiting for someone to become legal". Which I find potentially creepier.

I don't know if this really applies to your situation, but your question made me think of this recent story:

He’s labeled a sex offender — for sleeping with his own wife: They had sex when she was underage; now he’s on public registry with pedophiles

When Frank Rodriguez and his future wife first starting having sex, they considered themselves just two of millions of teenagers who were in love.

However, their love was against the law in Texas, so Rodriguez soon joined a more exclusive group, one in which no one seeks membership: He became one of more than 650,000 registered sex offenders in the United States.

And today, after 15 years and four daughters with his high school sweetheart, the 34-year-old suburban father still wears the modern-day equivalent of the Scarlet Letter. Friends, neighbors or parents in his hometown of Caldwell, Texas, can go online to view the public sex offender registry and see his name alongside those of rapists, child molesters and child pornographers. His teenage love for his future wife, Nikki, is classified in a much less romantic way — sexual assault of a child.
When the two first fell in love, the Texas football star was 19 years old, his cheerleader girlfriend was 15, and her mother was not happy about it. One trip to the local police station in 1996 by his future mother-in-law, and Rodriguez’s life was irrevocably altered in a state where the legal age of consent is 17. A list created to protect children from predators soon included a man who would go on to become the proud father of four daughters.

Following an article detailing their saga in the latest issue of Marie Claire, Rodriguez and his wife spoke exclusively with Lauer on Wednesday about the stigma of still being on the list despite not being a violent or dangerous criminal. They were joined by Robin Sax, a criminal defense attorney and former sex crimes prosecutor, who offered her perspective on Rodriguez’s situation.

Having been on the sex offender list for nearly half his life, Frank is unable to secure a job with a major corporation or leave the state without notifying local law enforcement. He cannot coach soccer for any of his daughters, who range in age from 4 to 11 years old. While the Rodriguezes admittedly broke the law as teenagers, “It shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all,’’ Nikki told Lauer.

I was browsing the iTunes Store and I noticed that some songs are "Work Only". I've seen "Album Only" and that's pretty obvious what it means, but what does "Work Only" mean?

This may sting a bit, but...

1. Everybody who sees you together will judge you.
2. She's just getting use to high school and you graduated years ago. That's weird on a developmental and intellectual level. It insults your IQ and your social skills.
3. It suggests you have trouble getting girls your own age, which makes you look like a loser.

Unless you found the one exception to all young girls, she's probably a ditsy idiot that just likes the attention you give her.
You may even get to fuck her, but that's only because she's a horny teenager. Unless you take her virginity, chances are you won't mean anything in the long run.
You're looking for a serious relationship at that age, and she's looking for a big dick.

"Same school" was my rule until graduating college. That ensures the most compatibility.
