I want to bring my Wii up to uni and plug it into my computer monitor.

Is a Wii to HDMI converter like this actually going to work? Not expecting great picture quality just for it to be usable.

Has anyone else noticed an unusually high amount of threads being locked recently?
I hadn't really noticed, but flipped forward a few pages on the OT main page... yeah, seems like stuff is being locked that would've previously been allowed to die a natural death.

Need some MS Access 2007 help.

I'm doing homework for my MIS class and it's basically following steps from MyITLab. The three steps I'm having trouble with are all about writing out multiplication/subtraction in Access:

1) "In the first empty field cell of the design grid, create a new field in the query named DaysToShip that subtracts the OrderDate from the ShippedDate."

2) "In Design view, add a Total row to the query. In the first empty field cell of the design grid, create a new field in the query named ExtendedAmount that multiplies Quantity by UnitPrice (in that order)."

3) "In the next empty field cell of the design grid, create a new field in the query named DiscountAmount that multiplies Quantity by UnitPrice by Discount."

Any help with writing those out?

Trying to find a song. It was popular around 2000-2003. Female singer, techno song. Only lyric I can really recall is "I'll be your dreeeeeeeeaaaam (extended for accuracy) and your fantasy."

Did you get this translated? It seemed interesting to me because Polish uses the roman alphabet, so maybe the handwriting is what confused you. Unless it's cyrillic, in which case it could have been Russian (which I could translate for you). If your date is right then it's very possible the letter was written in Russian.

Is aluminum chloride in a solution of water volatile (well I mean, I can smell it's scent, but is it very volatile)? Can I let the water evaporate to create a solution with a higher concentration of aluminum chloride, or is that gonna evaporate with the water?

The answer to this could save me a bunch of money.

Edit: it's actually Aluminum Chlorohydrate - Al2Cl(OH)5 <---#'s are subscript

I'm trying to remember a scene from a movie or TV show.

In the scene, a group of people is in a discussion led by a respected older man. The man may or may not have had an accent.

The topic that comes up is what superpower they would want if they could just choose one. The first person says they'd want to fly so that they can beat traffic and go anywhere. Then another member of the group says that they would want to be invisible.

The respected older man leading the discussion asks why he would want invisibility - unlike flight, it can't really be used for good, since being in a situation that requires you to be invisible means you're doing something you probably shouldn't be doing (spying, peeping in a girl's locker room are the examples he gives I think). The man who said he'd want to be invisible is visibly embarrassed at this dressing down, but nonetheless retorts that he'd help people, only anonymously. The group doesn't seem to buy it.

That's all I remember. HALP

EDIT: I think I remember now - it might be from the excellent Spanish thriller "Fermat's Room" but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Is there any way to remove searches from a Firefox browser on Mac?

I have a few mistyped searches, as well as some friends typing in stuff, but I can't seem to find a way to remove individual searches like I could on PC.

Is there some kind of "Graphic Novel Canon" out there? I'm in the middle of reading Persepolis for a class, and it has me in the mood for reading comics again. I'm looking for non-superhero stuff in the same vein. Where should I go next?

EDIT: Or really anything important to the development of the medium. Osamu Tezuka, perhaps? I should also mention that I just re-read Understanding Comics.

I'm sure you know a lot more than me, but I remember Time did a list of the top ten all time graphic novels a while back, which includes stuff like Persepolis, Blankets, and Jimmy Corrigan.

My flat only has a Mortice lock (within a block that uses an keycoded door, and a Yale locked backdoor, and I am concerned somebody has been in my place.

Is it possible to unlock and then lock a Mortice lock by picking it?

I have emails from "facebook" in my spam filter, saying I have messages waiting that have not reached me properly. I shouldn't click on these links, should I? xD Considering how broken facebook can be, I wouldn't put it past them if this was real and gmail's filter caught it by accident.

So I am doing research for a group project about Women in the labor force in Egypt and its history from 1950 to 1990's. While searching through my schools research port under the historical abstracts, it led me to an abstract that was attached to what looked to be a summary/research paper in a journal. The author had all kinds of references and citations. The information in this "paper" is stuff that I need. The reason I am asking this question because the author cited all different kinds of authors for this paper and if I used this paper I am basically citing the author who did all the work. Is it fair game to use this information for my presentation/paper? (I'm obviously going to cite the paper)

Edit: hmm maybe this question wasn't needed since the "paper" that I am looking at is an article in a journal.

I need help remembering a story from a book I read when I was younger. The book was illustrated pretty well and one of the stories in the book was about a samurai who was trying to cross a bridge that had a sleeping dragon on it. I believe the dragon woke up as he was trying to pass but I don't remember much else.

That ring a bell for anyone?

I asked this a few months ago but didn't get a reply.

so i lent my car to my friend and now im noticing its vibrating at high speeds. i looked at the tires and on one of them there is a pretty noticable baldspot.. so im thinking he must've skidded or spun out or something. i couldnt see any baldspots on the other tires though, so could a spin out of caused it on just one? and could the one bald spot result in vibration at high speeds?

i would just take it to a mechanic but if nothing is wrong with it then i don't want to pay, and my buddy swears that it was the way it is before i lent it to him. he does tend to drive really shittily and i can see him spinning out.. would that result in 1 baldspot, or 4? or depends?

Yes, it's a slim. And I have no idea. I haven't bought one yet.
I mean is it the Xbox drive or like a Western Digital? I'm pretty sure you can put any Xbox Slim hard drive in the slim, just not an Xbox hard drive for the original 360

That's what I came to ask. I don't know which hard drive to use or if I could even switch them out.

This is a quick question kinda about GAF. Are we allowed to start a thread essentially begging for people to take a short survey for out senior capstone project? Its related to watching TV and e-sports, which I think GAF is a good place to ask around for. But I don't want a banstick.

I'm selling my brother my current computer to help pay for a new laptop. What's the best way to go about moving my chrome settings/cookies/bookmarks/etc to this new laptop? I wasn't going to reformat the computer since I don't want to make him go through all the driver set up and whatnot, but I want to make sure that my stuff is of there, and I can put it on my laptop in the easiest way.

I think I've seen similar threads posted here, and I don't recall the posters getting banned for those. Maybe you can try to PM a mod.

What are some portable external hard drives that are fat32? I don't know how to convert my iOmega 1tb portable hard drive from NTFS to Fat32, so I thought I'd just buy another one that is automatically fat32

anyone know of some?

I'm remembering a scene from a recent-ish movie or TV show: There's a girl who likes a guy. The guy shows up at her apartment unexpectedly. She answers the door, sees it's him, gets excited, then suddenly remembers her place is a huge mess. She asks if he can wait just a minute, which he does confusedly, and she runs around cleaning up by hurriedly throwing things under the bed, etc. This has probably happened in a thousand films but I know there's one I'm remembering.

Don't have proof but the three thoughts about increased risk of colds in cold weather I've heard are:

1. Germs can survive longer in the cold
2. The body is already struggling to stay warm and is weakened to fend off colds.
3. More people are condensed in internal environments which leads to more contact/susceptibility to germs.

Quick credit card question:

I accidentally paid a bill to the wrong credit card (Capital One). So now I have a roughly 300 dollar negative balance on that card. I went ahead and paid the correct company also since I can't wait or I'll miss the due date.

If I request a No Hassle Balance Transfer check from Capital One, am I going to get screwed? There's no fee but it's talking about APR on the transfer. Does this mean they're going to take money from the amount or charge the account for an APR fee? Or does it mean that if I used the transfer to go into debt and didn't pay it off, they'd charge me interest on that in a month? If so, that wouldn't be an issue since my balance would be 0, right?

Sorry if I didn't explain it well.
