huh?
I just want specifics, what the hell did Thor do?
Aside from the naming weirdness, Thor actually still exists and apparently will have a book called the Unworthy Thor

If Thor is unworthy, what happens to him as a being?
He posts depressing threads on gaf
I'm fine with it. Writers change how powers and characters work all the time. I imagine this will be a short-term publicity stunt, rather than an enduring change.

This seem really fucking stupid. How does Thor losing his hammer not make him Thor?
Guys, of course they will backtrack in a year. They do this all the time. Wolverine is "dying" later this year, of course he won't stay dead though.
Just appreciate it for the year or so of cool stories that couldn't happen any other way.

Without that it would be a bit hard to see the difference to the Male ThorBut yet we still have to give her boob armor.

Yeah comics are like the weather, don't like it? Wait a little while.
I dont get comic book continuity. Will male Thor die or something to make room for this new Thor? Or will Thor just suddenly become a girl with no explanation?
Let it go, man. lolAny word on new52 dying?

I hope they call it The superior ThorIt's not that hard to understand. Thor loses the right to wield the hammer, some lucky young woman gets it and becomes Nu-Thor.
The character is a god — not a goddess — and will wield Mjolnir (and even the god's name) just like her predecessor
Is the name Thor retconned to being a title now? Other people have had the hammer and they weren't called Thor.
The Verge has a rather odd layout. Looks unfinished. Is everyone else seeing this?
Should call it "The God Formerly Known as Thor". This actually makes it even more cash-grabish because now Thor fans have to buy a second book to follow the original character.
But yet we still have to give her boob armor.
I want Thor and Lady Thor to have a legal battle over the name, with She Hulk vs Matt Murdock as their lawyers
Apparently yes, which makes me want to know what to call the other Thor.

On the flip side, has an originally woman character been genderswapped to a man taking up her mantle?
huh?

Thor the Unworthy sounds so much better
In the future.Captain America ever been a woman?
Didn't Hank Pym once take up the "Yellowjacket" name?
Didn't Hank Pym once take up the "Yellowjacket" name?
Doesn't work like that in the comics. In comics the hammer focuses his power. He still has power without it.
The link in the OP is to the mobile version, so that is probably what you are seeing.
Eh, Thor is always Thor, but if someone else wields the hammer they are granted the power of Thor/become Thor. It probably all started back when Marvel gave Thor a human alter-ego, Donald Blake. Since then lots of people have been Thor or a Thor-like entity (Thunderstrike, Beta Ray Bill, etc.).
So basically Thor will be on a mission to regain his worthiness, and he will still be Thor, but so will someone else. When Thor-Thor comes back Other-Thor will probably be given her own special hammer and a new name, assuming she was popular (like Beta Ray Bill). There was even a "Thor Corps" for a while because there are so many Thors running around.

The Verge doesn't redirect from mobile to desktop for some reason: http://www.theverge.com/2014/7/15/5901621/marvels-thor-is-now-a-woman
