Tite Kubo's Bleach Manga Nears Ending

The manga's ending in one chapter LOL

Stopped mattering a while back

There was one point where Shikai Kenpachi was hinted at being transcendent, but nothing came of that
Yeah I know, I'm wondering why that is when it was such a big deal back then. Aizen described that shit as being on another dimension, like the difference between 2D and 3D, that's some serious stuff Kubo just decided to ignore.

I suppose they could do a one time combo attack to make sure he's wrecked?

Kubo probably already forgot Ichibei was still alive. Unless he got consumed in the rebuild of the Royal Palace and cities, in which case welp!

The fact that he pulled the rug out from the "Balance" guy and the "Miracle" guy shows that he had finally created powers so ridiculous that even he couldn't figure out how to undermine them and just had to have Ywhach drain them.

I was really, genuinely interested in how to knock over The Miracle where anything that damages or kills him just makes him stronger.

I'm guessing Shinji's bankai would have had some reverse power to deal with The Miracle. Beyond that .... yeah.

I always wondered why Manga's like bleach are kinda hurried to finish yet Mangas liike Hajime no Ippo(1000+ chapters) or Case Closed (900+) are still chugging along with no hint of wrapping up, are the much more popular than Bleach?

btw: love Hajime No Ippo and Cased Closed

They are published by a different publisher, and also run in a much different magazine. But most of all, Ippo and CC ingrained themselves culturally in Japan so well how their manga do isn't reflective on the franchise as a whole. CC anime and film series alone is popular enough to go on for another decade, and the manga is famous enough people would know of it by growing up.

Bleach never managed to get itself on the same level, mainly because it created a jumping off point for casual fans to quit the series (the conclusion to Ichigo vs. Aizen) and the massive drop in quality in the last 2 arcs. People stopped reading the series because they seen a good place to stop, people who kept on reading seen that the series got worse and worse the longer it went, and eventually the reading demographics of the magazine just moved on.

In hindsight, one of two things should have happened to avoide Bleach's decline

1- Bleach ending on the Arrancar arc, Kubo moving on to create other manga, and come back to the series years later

Or

2- Bleach moving to a less magazine, preferably a monthly, so that Kubo could just continue forever on the series if he wanted to

Had either of those things happned, the series might have not floundered as much as it did.

People have brought up that it seemed set up for the Royal Guard to be guarding Yhwach after he became Soul King, forcing Ichigo and co. to fight them. I just realized, Orihime's power could have actually been useful against Ichibe's ability to rewrite things. I mean, Kubo probably wouldn't have done that if he couldn't get her to be useful during the Arrancar arc after building her up so much, but it could have been an interesting way to handle things.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
So how much are we betting that this ends with a flashforward scene?

that actually would have been cool.

In, like, broad strokes. I'm sure the actual chapters would have been too drawn out and just a series of killing blows exchanged back and forth for 14 chapters

So. He should be given as much time as he wants to wrap it up. They rushed him. And that's quite unfair. Naruto been wrapping it up for years.
They gave him four years and he made no progress. Maybe what they replace Bleach with will be an equally high failure, but it's better than letting the manga's corpse decompose in public display.

I mean for all we know, he could have planned on bringing the Royal Guard back. Kubo could have found hundreds of ways to drag this on for another 4 years, so I'm not surprised they just dropped the hammer eventually.

I think my favorite part of the rushed ending so far is Ichigo not even batting an eye at Ginjo and Tsukishima being alive

I honestly hope there isn't, this shit is so rushed something like that is SO out of place at this point.

Save it for some extra chapter you make for a Databook, Kubo.

Though he's such a hack I wouldn't be surprised if he did...

Hell it's THIS week.

What a time to be alive.

I'm giddy waiting for spoilers, I need to see this trainwreck.

Pretty sure they're dead and souls which is why they ended up in soul society. Though I can sympathize since it's pretty hard to remember that soul society is actually supposed to be an afterlife

I would have just assumed they'd go to hell or be reborn in soul society(which I thought is what everyone did??), though the rules of soul society have always been SUPER fast and loose

I'm pretty sure Ippo and Detective Conan have ingratiated themselves into pop culture far more than Bleach ever did.

my ideal final pages of bleach

Everyone: Congratulations, Ichigo!
Ichigo: Yay
Rukia: We're all dead thanks to you
Ichigio: Wait what'd you say?
Hollow Aizen: I said "Bankai"

Thank you for reading Bleach, please look forward to Tite Kubo-sensei's next work!

Ive noticed a lot of ppl online and my friends are pretty upset at JUMP for "rushing" bleach but honestly theres no one else to blame but the mangaka, he's the one that chose to kept dragging things out, i doubt they just called him last month and was like "yo bro you got 4 more weeks to wrap this up". He knew it was coming and instead of wrapping it up he looked for ways to make the final boss more op.

Well there is no scene as hype as when Ichigo saving Rukia from the Soukyoku stand , proceed to one hit KO 3 lieutenants and then finally confronting Byakuya . Go back to episode 54 and watch it in Japanese . Sadly , nothing top that scene afterwards =/
Bankai for the first time is still hype as fuck. I still turn on Bleach on Netflix to watch that scene.

Hard to come back if only one is alive.
Despite saying "Ichibei is still alive" I imagine the others could have been patched up. This IS Bleach, and you had Ichibei literally blow up and get put back together anyway.

We'll probably find out quickly next chapter or in a data book how they got restored.

The endings going to be Ichigo wakes up in a hospital thanks to a nasty case of bleach poisoning from coloring his hair and he dreamed up the whole thing.

The ending is gonna be every single Bleach character surrounding Ichigo and saying congratulations over and over with a giant Aizen head in the background.

When it comes to these particular shonen series, their ability to continue to remain in circulation is dependent on both the actual marketability of the series and the author's continued interest in keeping it going. It's the same way a lot of American Cartoons that got cut short were depended on Toy Sales to stay on the air.

Not only do both of those series sell well, but they also continue to get anime adaptations and merchandising.

Bleach meanwhile has had it's anime cancelled and continues to decline in sales, so that's why Shonen Jump is pulling the plug of the series. Had Bleach continued to be more successful, then yeah, Kubo probably would have been given free reign to end the series completely on his terms (like Kishimoto and Toriyama got to do) but its just not the case.

I also have to ask too, not to kick the dog while it's down, but just how popular is Bleach in the west still? I've been seeing it brought up how they could make a "Bleach Final Act" for the American fans, but from what I've seen Bleach has been downtrending here just as much.

Even pulling into account the overall decline of manga sales, Bleach still has tanked there big time as well.

Like, it's still notable, but notable in the sense that it's fans read the illegal scanlations online to keep up with it. :p

Buying physical managa is rather annoyign since it takes up so much room. I wonder if digital sales are cutting into those numbers?

This final arc in Bleach has been more than two years longer than the absolute longest arc in all of One Piece.

Think about that shit.

This reminds me, earlier today I was at my library and started my plan of binge-reading-all-of-Bleach by putting out holds on every volume (I like to binge read and I need something new right now. Well, "new").

As I reached the mid 20s, I paused and boggled when I realized that it was the Hueco Mundo arc already. I could've sworn that was later than the damn 20s. Good lord I didn't realize how much the later arcs went on for.

The ultimate troll would be if this was the last book and Kubo is only like 63% of the way through the final fight.

Bleach just ends with being partially finished.

If Kubo ends it with Ichigo & company LOSING, omg, that would be the GREATEST. Its honestly the only way I can think of where Bleach goes out on a note of significance of some form.
