Try going back to the initial chapters of bleach and the Soul Society arc.

There's great characterisation and plot.

Now go and read any chapter from the last 5 years. It's just aimless fighting.
What happened to the real Kubo? :p

He's talking about Dressorsa which more or less lasted two years. The final arc of Bleach last four years and still didn't resolve anything.

Hell, if you want to take the longest continuous story segment of One Piece, the entire War Saga INCLUDING Thriller Bark, you would start at January 29, 2007 and run until August 30, 2010, the final chapter before
the time skip
. That includes the entirety of
Thriller Bark, Sabaody, Amazon Lily, Impel Down, Marineford, the Sabo flashback arc, and the Post-War Arc
.

That's about 3 and a half years, or a little less than a year shorter than Bleach's final arc.

Damn, less than four years and all of that good stuff happened.

If Kubo ends it with Ichigo & company LOSING, omg, that would be the GREATEST. Its honestly the only way I can think of where Bleach goes out on a note of significance of some form.

Actually? Given Yhwach's powers - it's not implausible. And it would be a middle finger by Tite to Shonen Jump and make Bleach remembered for a long time.

but still though, how did Yhwach not see that silver arrow coming for him. Kubo pls, all you had to do was keep Aizen around and say he tricked Yhwach's eyes again and it would've been fine.

What has Yhwach done that's so evil?

Killed the war criminal Yamamoto? He had it coming!
Killed some shlubby Vice Captain I don't even remember the name of? Who cares!
Killed a bunch of quincy? Good on him!

Yhwach '16: Right for America, Right for Soul King.

why didn't hitsugaya's older brother help fight aizen

I'm almost done re-reading it all, and I liked this joke.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Some more perspective.
The Chimera Ant arc in Hunter x Hunter was 132 chapters. Sure it ran for 7 years due to constant hiatuses, but it still managed to tell an entire story in less quantity than this stupid Blood War. Reminder that including the upcoming final chapter, the Blood War is 215 chapters long.

Killed Ichigo's mom and tried to usurp Aizen in the hearts of manga fans that love overpoweredness and fuckery.

Both punishable by death.

My favorite number to pull out since they're both ending this week is that the final arc started six chapters after Nisekoi debuted.

That's a REALLY good stat considering Nisekoi is pretty long drawn out and tired now.

Seven Deadly Sins was after Blood War started, right?

I'm so glad One Piece exists.

Meh. Fight scenes could be better. Oda spends WAY too much time trying to get me to care about supporting characters wherever Luffy's crew ends up, but I still end up not caring even after they pack up and leave. Only times he got me legit shook was when Kuma wrecked their shit and
Ace died
.

I loved this part lol. Kira looks so badass. Now that he's died he's seen some shit. It's almost like he saw the manga's ending when he died and just doesn't give a fuck anymore.

"Who are you?"

"A dead man."

Yeah that doesn't really work, if you have seven years with significant breaks, it's not exactly surprising that you can better plan pace and fit in meaningful content than if you have to crank a chapter every weak. In fact it would be far more shocking if this wasn't the case. Same reason why monthly manga's tend to be better paced than weekly.

I always wondered why Manga's like bleach are kinda hurried to finish yet Mangas liike Hajime no Ippo(1000+ chapters) or Case Closed (900+) are still chugging along with no hint of wrapping up, are the much more popular than Bleach?

btw: love Hajime No Ippo and Cased Closed

Probably because Shounen Jump is the manga magazine with highest circulation in Japan and so they have higher standards to keep series around.

The Keroro Gunso/Sgt. Frog series fell from selling around 200k week 1 to around 50k after its anime ended, but the manga seemingly still continues without issues or any hint that it's approaching any ending. A Jump series falling that much would be quickly cancelled, but Shounen Ace, which publishes Keroro, has much lower standards (its own circulation is bellow 100k compared to Jump selling more than 2 millions every week).

Edit: Although Conan overall is bigger than Bleach, in spite of being published in a lower circulation magazine. Ippo is smaller, but likely survives due to Shounen Magazine having lower standards than Jump.

Vegeta and Nappa have arrived, can Earth's Mightiest hold out in time for Goku to arrive?!*

*basing this off tankoban release dates. September 1985-November 1989
the hunt for the dragonballs, all of the tournaments, Red Ribbon Army, King Piccolo, Raditz.

Jesus christ Kubo.

NOW you're speaking my language. I wish Escanor would show up in the last Bleach chapter and destroy EVERYBODY.

Estarossa: "Why are you not afflicted by my commandment?"
Escanor: "Of course it has no effect. I've no reason to feel hatred towards those beneath me.
*staredown*
Escanor: "All I feel towards them is pity."
Estarossa: "Such insolent pride."
Escanor: "THAT IS MY SIN."

Where are people hearing this?

Shonen Jump, who announced the manga was ending in 5 chapters 4 chapters ago

also Volume 74 will be the final volume and the next chapter is the final chapter of volume 74

Also last issue they announced that both Nisekoi and Bleach would be ending in this week's double issue with Nisekoi increased to 25 pages and Bleach a standard length

Wow, last chapter, and it just going to be standard length? Not much room left.

are you fucking serious? is it going to be 40 pages? unless it ends with ichigo being under aizens spell since SS arc, this wont be good

Normal length, 15 pages.

Nisekoi's announcement about its climax (or near climax, not sure if this upcoming chapter is also the end, though it feels like it) mentioned that it is double the size, but Bleach's didn't, so its pretty much a guaranteed 15 pager.

The Bleach fans (what's left of them) are in severe denial, or trying to claim it's a conspiracy. It's hilarious.

If Beam was still here, I imagine he'd meltdown hard.

Nisekoi is more popular than Bleach, also I doubt an extended final chapter can help bleach since it already have 4 years of final arc lol.

If Phoenician_Viking was still around this thread would have descended into an anti-One Piece hate maelstrom and then gotten locked.

I think it's amazing that we're all in agreement that this is the only way the ending can possibly be satisfying.

Actually? Given Yhwach's powers - it's not implausible. And it would be a middle finger by Tite to Shonen Jump and make Bleach remembered for a long time.

Just make it end with Yhwach getting up behind Ichigo and going "SINCE WHEN DID YOU THINK YOU WON" with Ichigo doing the O_O face and end the manga right there.

Typical bleach shit.

Wait, this week is the last chapter!?!? lmao are you serious??

same reaction here. I just read the last chapter published but I didn't expect to be the last before the end. WTF. How can it end in 15 pages lol?
Also, maybe I'm wrong, but it did all the "new fucking blade" for ichigo and then what? It keeps getting broken? That's it?

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Watch the entire thing be Ichigo's coma dream, and when he wakes up all his friends are there, and they're just normal-ass humans. No Shinigami, no Quincies, no Hollows or Arrancar, no... whatever else there was.

It would be Kubo's big "Now I don't have to explain any of the plot holes" trump card.

I'd just like to remind people that we're never going to actually find out what the fuck the Soul King is/was.
Why does Yhwach call him "Father?" Why does Yhwach call Ichigo his "son?"

Tune in next time, on Bleac- [CANCELLED.]
