Todd Howard: Elder Scrolls 6 is still in a design phase

Im still amazed how Microsoft just threw a bunch of cgi teasers last "e3". Fable, Decay, Everwild.. Hells Blade? Im not quite sure what they would have without bethesha. Incredible really. Whoever came up with gamepass probably got a huge raise. He saved the whole sector.
 
Happy to wait as long as it takes, particularly if it launches in a better state than they usually do.
It is a bit strange that they teased it so early when it looks like all they had was a very brief CGI trailer of a landscape. I mean, I can't imagine anybody at all was surprised that there's going to be a 6th version of the game at some point.
 
I'll be straight here.

Do i think it'll be as good as tes 3, 4, 5? No.
Do i like that they're taking their time? Yes.
Do i like how they have been big enough to go from MMO back to sp? Hugely.

We didn't get an Elder Scrolls all of last generation. If this game hasn't really done more than begin design, we may not see one this generation either.

Same with GTA.

I dont think ESO was ever meant to replace the single player games. It's a completely seperate entity.
 
I'm glad they're trying something new with Starfield. Takes some balls to walk away from one of the best selling games of all time for 10+ years. I just wish they never wasted their time and released Fallout 76 though. Without that, we could've gotten Starfield as a launch title for the Series X last year and TES6 ~2024

I'm thinking more like 5 years, maybe 6. It is clear that ES6 is just not a priority for them. They've got other properties that are more lucrative, come first, or are demanding their attention. Elder Scrolls used to be their main game, but now it's waiting in a long line.

In 5 or 6 years, I have no idea where I will be. I will no doubt have a beefier computer by then. My computer might be hooked to my TV. I might have a Smart TV that I could get Xbox Game Pass on. Who knows. I do know I'm not buying an Xbox hoping for ES6, though.

Just a few years ago during an E3 interview, Todd Howard said the technology for what they want to do with the game isn't even there yet... but should be in the near future.

I don't know why anyone is surprised, by either this or Starfield. In terms of announcing things about the games, they've been right on track for how far along they are. Which up until E3, has been literally nothing but the names and setting.
 
Any rational person should have seen this coming unless they expanded their team to incredible size. They are still working on Starfield.
 
I only wish skyrim grandma still live and get to play another elder scroll game...one more time...when this game comes out...

Some of you guys are impossible. WHICH NONEXISTENT TEAM did you think that was working on Elder Scrolls 6? BGS F**** Dallas?

Anyways, i have no problem if ES6 comes out at, let's say, 2026 if it is coming in a good state. On the other hand , Fallout needs a spinoff.
