Thread full of cringe. Let the GOATs work.
It's longer than expected; but the thing is... so is Starfield.Design phase is still super early. Most likely won't come about til 2027. That was still a long time ago. Can't believe it's still in just design.
Better than rushing of course.
That was the "please be excited™" phaseSo if it's still in the 'design phase' 3 years after teasing it at E3, then what phase was it at back then...?
So if it's still in the 'design phase' 3 years after teasing it at E3, then what phase was it at back then...?
How fucked up has game dev gotten that studios who used to be able to put out a game every two years now need 6-10? Fucking ridiculous. Something needs to change or we will get one game per franchise per generation soon
'We need to come up with 15 seconds teaser so people will STFU. Also, Microsoft would like to buy us and the top management wants a nice payout' phase. So if it's still in the 'design phase' 3 years after teasing it at E3, then what phase was it at back then...?
Well, in all honesty they have a successful MMO still providing cash and no reason to push forward basically what would be the same thing.
TESO is an entirely different studio. They even have their own new IP in works.LoL. So glad we got GAAS horse shit like TESO
I'm still in kind of disbelief that we are going into July with confirmation that Starfield is a late 2022 game (if all goes right - and I'm not oblivious to the fact they showed zero gameplay suggesting a delay is certainly possible), and ES6 is only in the design phase years after being teased.
I think June 2021 will go down as the month where more astro turf got mowed than any prior time in gaming history.
This is incorrect.these guys are a tiny 100 person studio
The term lazy devs became bannable on era during the same time Jason Schrier was doing exposes on how wasteful some of these devs were with their resources. With Mass Effect Andromeda, EA gave that team 5 years to make a spinoff. They spent the first three years prototyping a procedurally generated universe which was scrapped altogether. During this time they had done no other work and had to scramble together and create Andromeda in the last 18 months. I dont care if its lazy devs or management but there is clearly something fucking wrong with the studio. How fucked up has game dev gotten that studios who used to be able to put out a game every two years now need 6-10? This is incorrect.
And that's why it's so incredible that a team of just over 100 people created it.
Howard described that process of developing two blockbuster games at once, with a crew of around 100 for both, as a careful balance:
We're always kind of designing one game while in production on one, and talking about one. Staggering our development somewhat. When we're really working on a game, it takes everybody's attention. We'll discuss the other one. We'll kick it around over lunch, and then we'll have concept artists or other people start on stuff. So "Fallout 4," we kind of picked away at things, and concepts, while we worked on "Skyrim," but we were very focused on "Skyrim." But once "Skyrim" was done, we'd had a couple "Fallout 4" things ready. And we knew what we wanted to do — what the big things would be in the game. And we just started attacking all of those things at once.
FUCKING THIS.let them take their time. It needs to be a big upgrade.
Fuck you. I don't want microtransactions anywhere near RPG's kthankxbyeI want EA to take over this company at this pointI can live with "dragon shout premium pack"s(3 rares inside).
Yes, that was 6 + years ago. The team now with all the remote branches is over 300.![]()
A surprisingly small team built the best game of 2015
"Fallout 4" took six years and just over 100 people to create.www.businessinsider.com
Most of those people have been working on Starfield and Fallout 76 since Fallout 4 released.Yes, that was 6 + years ago. The team now with all the remote branches is over 300.
Thinking about it stage. So if it's still in the 'design phase' 3 years after teasing it at E3, then what phase was it at back then...?
Same here. I just about got a xsx instead of a ps5 because of elders scrolls but now, 3-4 years? I'll just grab it for my computer or wait for a super cheap Xbox now. No problemThat's sad. I'm guessing it will be 2026 or 2027 before we get the next installment. ES is one of the main reasons I would get an Xbox, but it seems irrelevant now.
