Tom Clancy's The Division - Ubisoft + Massive, MMO Open World TPS RPG

Ubisoft did it again.

Last year Watch_Dogs.

Now this fucker right here.

I loved what I saw, RPG elements, seemingly class based (healer, tactician? stuffs), team based, can go against other groups in the world, my dream game. I need more info on the RPG elements. It gave me a taste of Socom tactical, Resistance co op rpg, and Dayz survival open world.

This game seriously got me during that conference. When the guy was going around picking up items when the girl was letting the cops out the building, I thought he was AI controlled for a second. That's how good it looked to me, where real players activities looked like AI was doing it, that's really good.

Also with the mic being on the PS4 camera, I'm guessing chat will be super easy with others. Well, as long as they take it seriously.

Can't wait to hear more info on it.

I am really surprised how detailed this game looks.

the character models and lighting dont look the best so far.

but overall if games look like this next gen I will be very pleased indeed

its funny the cover mechanics look very similar to this

but we all know what happened to that version of the game.

Like a lot of E3 stuff I'am reserving judgement on the really amazing looking stuff.

how the fuck does an open world game look that good? the first part I called it CG with the snow until it went to gameplay. Damnn

Open world games need a lot of memory. With the new consoles having 8GB will allow for better looking open world games and probably more of them.

I know it means nothing, but when I saw the Tom Clancy name I was immediately put off.

I am still hyped for it, but for some reason it makes me a little less hyped with that name.

I was really hoping for the title "Dark Winter", Dark Winter sounds so badass.

But didn't the Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3 reveal look really amazing compared to the actual game released? Must not trust Ubisoft. Same thing with the Watch DOg reveal actually.

totally fooled me too. first i thought "ok this might be gameplay" then it went to "nah looks way too good, obvious CG" then it went to "WTF IT IS GAMEPLAY WHATTTTTT"

When I saw this in real time game play I flipped my shit. I double flipped my shit once I saw that PS4 controller. I am so hyped and excited for this PS conference!!

I know, but I would be surprised if a ps4 exclusive by naughty dog/santa monica with linear gameplay looking that good. This game is multiplatform right? and open world...just saw the screenshots and it's absolutely fucking ridiculous. I thought only racing games had the chance of that kind of photorealism.

Don't be too hyped, it looks completly scripted !

Animations are too perfect, other players animation looks totally scripted, they're not real players, neither IA.
Camera placement and animation are too perfect too. A lot of details are too perfect to be a real gameplay video. These details betray it to me.

It just seems to be a 3D Mark video disguised in a gameplay vid (like Ubisoft loves to do Ghost Recon 360, watchdogs...)

Yeah it looks really wonderful, but don't expect this kind of realism in the real game.

The larger pictures are amazing.. It looks like real life.

But this is what diminishing returns is all about. In the gameplay video during the conference, I couldn't tell it looked that good. The level of detail is too fine to fully appreciate from a distance. You have to get right up on it to really notice how much effort went into every little thing. It looks great, but it doesn't jump out at you at first glance.

Don't get me wrong, I could tell it looked great from the get-go, but in reality, it looks much better than I thought.

The million other similar TPSs? Nothing, outside of the graphics, is going to compel me to play this.

I guess it's just me and you then.

I don't ever want to hear neogaf complain about games set in New York ,the post-apocalypse, third person co-op shooters, gritty realism, white male protagonists,or guns ever again. Wrap the same shit in shiny new graphics and people will drool over it.
