That's Nintendo we're talking about. They'll give us a cheap toy and ask top dollar for it.It reads more like he's implying it'll be more powerful than a PS4 Pro.
Not less.
That's what I guesstimated. Pro is a tall order for a portable device, especially from Nintendo.I thought it was PS4 levels? Not Pro.

??
"as powerful"
It's a handheld.Yeah, as in he's laughing at the rumors about it being 'as powerful' as a PS4 Pro. When it will probably be more.
That's how I read it, at least.
PS4 Pro is almost a decade old and was running on outdated CPU architecture even at release. Won't be surprising to see 2025 Nintendo hardware be stronger than that.

This is the same guy that liked to brag about the Xbox Series S CPU being faster than the PS5.
As if PS4 pro would even be good anymore.Nintendo and powerful hardware.
(PS4 Pro Level??)
Looks like Nintendofanboys will never stop dreaming.

The issues is precisely about using TF as some sort of objective performance measurement.![]()
This thing docked might be 2tf at best
A handheld console releasing in 2025 is going to be as good if not better than a mid-gen refresh released in 2016. Anyone who thinks otherwise is drunk on copuim.
But like…in context that means fuck all when the GPU is significantly weaker. It's like saying I have a 12 inch dong but it only stays flaccid.Because it's the truth? The Series S is clocked at 3.6 and the PS5 is 3.5.

In a stationary console, sure. But in a hybrid form factor? PS4 Pro-level plus modern architecture would be fantastic. As if PS4 pro would even be good anymore.
Weren't they supposedly showing off the Matrix/UE5 demo behind closed doors last year? From what I have seen this thing will be not much faster than normal PS4 in raw power. Of course it's newer tech (still 5 years old...) and with DLSS support but you can't beat physics (and that includes power draw).

Coming from him and his previous "Series S is more powerful than PS5" tweet, you might be right but it's still not happening. It reads more like he's implying it'll be more powerful than a PS4 Pro.

Its not really top dollar for the console. It's a modest margin because price is critical for adoption. It is top dollar for accessories and for games that took significantly less to develop than others at the same price. That's Nintendo we're talking about. Well i think cpu wise its a given, so you will probably get a lot of 60fps games on Switch 2. Gpu wise though, which is what really powers the actual graphic quality, i just cant see it being close to the Pro.I don't see why some are thinking that a Switch 2 wouldn't be more powerful than hardware that came out in 2016? Perhaps the GPU won't be quite as beefy, but it won't be a tall order at all for the Switch 2 to have a far more potent CPU than the old Jaguar found in the last gen machines. It being made by Nintendo won't really matter when literal advancements in technology alone should see the Switch 2 performing better than a PS4 Pro, at least CPU wise.

It's still selling for $300 as of 2025.Its not really top dollar for the console. It's a modest margin because price is critical for adoption. It is top dollar for accessories and for games that took significantly less to develop than others at the same price.

Yeah, it was a rhetorical question to illustrate that Switch 2 was already showing off stuff that a PS4 probably couldn't run.Matrix and FFVII Remake were tech demos being shown behind closed doors at GDC in March.
