All of their broadcast dubs that I watch are very good (Ass Class, Yona, Death Parade) will buy all of them when the Blu rays are out
I will begin watching that in the summer. Looking forward to it.
Gintama is probably going to be the Hunter X Hunter fixture depending on how long this series will last.
This is where I am and pretty much where the series is, either you have been watching it or you have not.
The first episode of Gintama this season was the first episode of Gintama I ever watched. It was fine I guess. For some reason I thought the place they ended up at the end of the episode looked like one of those DBZ fields and low and behold the show ends with a DBZ joke. I ain't watching 350+ episodes to catch up though. Fuck that
That it the other problem with Gintama, it isn't like with One Piece where marathoning it is really easy because at the end of the day One Piece while long is pretty simple. Gintama has a very specific sense of humor that is very tired into not only anime culture but the culture of Japan at large.
Can't wait to see it later tonight.

Yep. They switch from honest to goodness animation and full transformation sequence and fight scenes to Inferno Cop when it comes to things like killing blows and exposition. I find it oddly endearing but as many pointed out we'll see how long the joke lasts. Inferno Cop was great because they kept tossing so much bizarre shit your way.

Yeah, Brotherhood tries to have it both ways by assuming the viewer already watched the original but still retreads the old stuff in Final Act speed. There's probably an ideal list of 15-20 must watch episodes that allow a viewer to just jump into Episode 13 of Brotherhood afterwards.
Though that would probably still cause some minor viewer confusion due to the differing characterizations of Scar and Mustang.

alchemy world and a technology world, except the alchemy world has had tech the entire damn show. It's like Bones forgot the world they had previously been animating and said "eh, guns? Cars? Other tech? Nah, they only use alchemy!" Ed shows surprise at the technology around him, and it makes no sense in this light.
I could probably make a shortlist for all the flaws in these finale episodes. From
the gate's purpose (and the ignoring of what it previously was in the plot" to the homunculus origins. Ugh.

Arguably Chaika the Coffin Princess, which while similar in theme to how the novel ends and does the same genesl events but rushes the shit out of things and condenses what feels like a 9-12 episode final arc into 2-3 episodes of poorly explained and unstaisfying nonsense. Imagine if after hyping up Super Sayian for the entire series it appears in the final episode out of nowhere only to instantly job and be entierly useless, thats the kind of mediocre writing chaika's bones ending has.
FMA 1-30 is a good show. I dont know what the hell I'm watching, and I'm not letting the nonsense of this show slide. Half of this ending is making no sense so far.
That one line was so out of place for his character. I think. Watch it be canon and completely in line with his character.

I liked the whole thing (not the sequel movie) but I'm not gonna defend that dumb ending.
People are more willing to overlook mediocre writing when your show has likable characters

Okay uh my issues in a few things. NO FMAB SPOILERS GUYS. Some points are shamelessly stolen from Bass, as we discussed it.
Whats his proper character like?
-Mecha archer. This man should be dead, half of you cant be a mech im pretty sure
-Only 7 people have done human transmutations?? THATS IT? Also on that note if the homunculus only appear when one is done how did Ed not notice the one he made IN THE SMALL ROOM HE WAS IN? Also in said case that he had seen her, he would instantly assume he revived his mom properly.
-Sloth=his mom also makes no goddamn sense in this light, and none of the non-canon homonculi have anything to do with their sins
-The tapped phone line about 10 episodes back led to sloth freaking out at the girls listening in when in reality there is no reason she should know they were listening
-The kid having Eds arm/leg makes no sense if this gate leads to another world i mean why the hell did a random kid even exist in the gate. The show completely ignores the shadow people. Also stealing body parts shouldnt lead to you assuming life is fine
-Al shouldnt have been able to revive Ed besides the fact the writers okay'd it.
-Also because you stole someones body parts doesnt make the person you stole from's mother your mother, that makes no goddamn sense.
-The gate leading to an alternate earth makes no sense, and the alchemy+tech vs world of tech makes no sense, because when they present it in this light, they actually try to avoid mentioning the fact that alchemy world HAS tech, so really our earth just kind of sucks. On that note, if transmutations are stealing from that, it makes no sense that it costs anything from Ed/Al's world, since the price of "equalness" is
paid by our earth. Literally, I have no clue why this plot point was introduced.
-I like how a destroyed village was introduced to the plot and promptly forgotten, because nobody would have mentioned that issue!
-Dante being the antagonist makes no sense whatsoever seeing as Ed's father is set up pretty decently for the role yet its given to a random character whos in the exact same prediciment as him, for REASONS.

-Dante's has the ability to ignore equality rules. This makes no sense. Nor does it try to explain it. Dante literally says "these dont apply to me" so they dont apply...okay then...
-The Elric father dissapeared because he didnt want his kids to see him slowly die/his condition. this is nonsensical, because it's not really a valid reason to run away and you know, abandon your kids?
-We have no clue why Al has memory loss or why Ed ended up on the other side of the gate, as far as previous plot points. It's bad writing.
-Ed adapts to being with his father way too quickly, considering the fact he hated the man for all previous parts of the show.
-Bradley tries to kill his kid which lets Roy get the item of his weakness, which is BS, seeing as he could have told his kid to run away for a much easier solution.
